YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 2004 AUDI A8L THAT HAS A SALVAGED TITLE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM ALLY BANK AS A INOP PARTS VEHICLE. I TRIED STARTING THE VEHICLE BUT DID NOT HAVE ANY LUCK. THE KEY ALSO SEEMS TO BE STUCK IN THE IGNITION. WHEN TRYING TO START IT UP, THE SECURITY SYSTEM BEEPS, SO MAYBE ITS A QUICK FIX BUT I AM SELLING THIS VEHICLE "AS IS" PARTS VEHICLE ONLY. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES, THE AUDI TOOK ON SOME DAMAGE TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR FENDER. THE FRONT BUMPER ALSO SUSTAINED DAMAGE. THE PASSENGER MIRROR IS BROKEN. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF. THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION DO NOT LOOK DAMAGED TO MY KNOWLEDGE. THE WHOLE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE LOOKS GOOD WITH NO DAMAGE AS WELL AS THE REAR BUMPER AND TRUNK. IT ALSO LOOKS LIKE THE AIR SUSPENSION INCURRED SOME DAMAGE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE SITS LOW. I BELIEVE THE FRONT TIRES ARE ALSO FLAT. THE INTERIOR LOOKS CLEAN AND EVERYTHING SEEMS INTACT. SINCE THE VEHICLE DOES NOT START, I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE MILEAGE, BUT THE BANK SAID IT HAS BETWEEN 140K TO 150K BASED ON THE CAR FAX. I JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TINKER WITH IT, I HAVE TO MANY OTHER PROJECTS GOING ON. A FRIEND TOLD ME THE SECURITY SYSTEM MIGHT BE KEEPING IT FROM STARTING AND AUDI DEALERSHIP HAS TO RE FLASH THE COMPUTER. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME 607-379-0429 THE VEHICLE CAN BE SEEN AT 400 SPENCER ROAD ITHACA NY 14850. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TOWED AWAY. I HAVE MORE PICTURES I CAN SEND IF YOU REQUEST THEM. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING ON THIS NO RESERVE AUCTION.

Audi put an electric longboard in the bumper of a Q3 | Autoblog Minute
Tue, Apr 26 2016Audi's connected mobility concept links a compact SUV, based on the Q3, with a driver's smart devices and an electric longboard that is stowed in the car's rear bumper. Eddie Sabatini reports on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Audi debuted its Connected Mobility Concept at the 2016 Beijing Motor show this week. The concept is based on the Audi Q3 production model but perhaps what's most interesting about this concept is not the compact SUV but the electric longboard that's stowed in the vehicle's rear bumper. Audi says that the carbon fiber and aluminum board has a battery range just over 7 miles, can reach speeds of up to 18 miles per hour, and when housed in the car, is automatically charged. [00:00:30] Clearly aimed at younger drivers, Audi's concept is a unique take on connected mobility. For Autoblog I'm Eddie Sabatini. Autoblog Minute is a short-form video news series reporting on all things automotive. Each segment offers a quick and clear picture of what's happening in the automotive industry from the perspective of Autoblog's expert editorial staff, auto executives, and industry professionals.
Audi traffic light recognition could save 240 million gallons of fuel [UPDATE]
Tue, Mar 11 2014Any hypermiler will tell you that the way you drive your car has a huge impact on how much energy it uses. But these greenfoot drivers haven't had a car that's smart enough to tell them about the inner lives of traffic lights. That's what a prototype system in an Audi A6 Saloon that the German automaker recently tested in Las Vegas can do. Since the car can communicate with local traffic signals and is able to predict when lights will change, the car can help reduce CO2 emissions by up to 15 percent. Further, Audi says that the system could save some 238 million gallons of fuel (900 million liters), if deployed across Germany. We can only imagine what hypermilers could do with this. We got to drive the Audi Online traffic light information system prototype in January, but we focused more on how the system worked rather than the green aspect. Now that Audi has had a bit more time to crunch the numbers, it has released fuel economy information for the connected car. The key points for the eco-side of things are that the driver is told in the dashboard how fast/slow to go to hit the next green light. This can help prevent unnecessary speeding and or encourage drivers to go a bit faster in order to hit the green, thus preventing idling and wasted time. The system is too smart to let you idle for long. Except that Audi Online is too smart to let you idle for long. The Audi connect system can calculate how much longer the light will be red and can access the car's start-stop capabilities and will fire up the engine "five seconds before the green phase." That seems like an awful long time in a world where competitors have figured out ways to restart an engine in 0.35 seconds. We've asked Audi for an explanation on why this buffer is so lengthy, and will let you know what the reasoning is when we hear back. Despite the trials in the A6, Audi says the Audi Online traffic system could be integrated into any Audi model, "subject to the necessary government legislation." Aside from the Sin City tests, Audi is running trials of the connected car in Verona, Italy and Berlin, Germany. If you'd like to test it out yourself some day, take heart from this line in the press release, available below: "A market launch is currently the subject of intense analysis in the United States." *UPDATE: Audi's Mark Dahncke told AutoblogGreen that the five second window is meant, "To alert the driver that the light is about to turn green.
Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.
