2008 Volvo V70 4 door wagon. 3.2 liter V6 makes great power. Car has 148000 miles but still rides and drives incredibly. This Volvo is loaded with every option you can get such as in dash sliding navigation, sunroof, parking sensors, premium sound, push button start, leather, climate control, and much more. Car is in excellent shape but is not perfect. Has some scratches here and there but nothing major. The most serious scratches are on the passenger door about the size of a softball as you can see in pics. Also there is a dent in the passenger side rear bumper. The car runs and drives like it should. The transmission shifts as smooth as the day it was new. I have a clean title in hand. The reserve is set low and someone can own this great car while saving thousands off retail. Both the Volvo V70 and XC70 come only with a 3.2L in-line six-cylinder engine for 2008, making 235 horsepower and hooked up to a six-speed automatic transmission with Geartronic manual selection.On the outside the new wagons get a softer, more aerodynamic look in front, with the distinctive Volvo "eggcrate" grille, yet they maintain a roofline that doesn't significantly compromise cargo space.The interior in these wagons has been thoroughly redesigned, with the instrument panel gaining the more contemporary look of most other Volvos, while front seats remain among the most ample and well bolstered. Both wagons come with seating for five, but the back seat is split 40/20/40 and sections fold forward for expanded cargo space. The cargo area has a sliding load floor and under-floor storage compartment. A power tailgate is now optional, and LEDs function as supplementary brake lights if the tailgate is open, for instance.The XC70 comes with standard all-wheel drive, protective lower body cladding, and an improved ground clearance, revised trim, and a more generous list of standard interior appointments such as automatic climate control, illuminated keyless entry, and a sound system with six-disc changer.A full roster of air bags and a whiplash protection system are standard, as might be expected for customers of the Swedish automaker. To aid with child safety, there's a new adjustable, built-in child booster-seat system.Even more notable are several active safety systems introduced into the V70 and XC70. Driver alert control chimes and shows a coffee cup symbol when it senses that the driver might be falling asleep or be distracted, the lane departure warning system uses a camera to detect when the driver is swerving or losing concentration, and a new collision warning system uses radar sensors to signal the driver if a collision is imminent, pre-charging the brakes and actually applying them at the point where it judges that a collision is unavoidable. The system is in addition to the available adaptive cruise control system, which follows a set distance behind traffic.Other major options include leather upholstery, a Dynaudio audio system, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, automatic climate control, and a xenon high-intensity-discharge adaptive headlamp system that helps aim into corners.

Volvo won't go after S-Class, 7 Series market

Volvo vice president of powertrain engineering, Derek Crabb, recently said that the Swedish automaker is developing smaller and smarter powertrain options that will "turn V8s into dinosaurs" - a statement that could have been our first indication that Volvo is no longer looking to create a luxury flagship sedan to take on German land yachts like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Now Automotive News seems to be backing this up after speaking with CEO Hakan Samuelsson, who said that a big sedan wouldn't fit the brand's green image and, more importantly, might not even be a car that its customers would even consider.
Rather than trying to compete in a small, established market against rear-drive, 12-cylinder sedans, Volvo is looking at the emerging, higher-volume premium small car segment to take on its German rivals with the all-new Volvo V40 (shown above). Not wanting to abandon the big-vehicle segment altogether, a next-generation XC90 is due out within the next couple years (and was spotted in some recent spy shots), and it will ride on the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will be shared with the new S80 according to the AN article.

2016 Chevy Colorado grabs Motor Trend Truck of the Year award

It's not an easy feat to win Motor Trend Truck of the Year twice in a row, but the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado managed to do just that. Thanks to the introduction of the 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder diesel, the magazine decided to bring the pickup back to defend the title. In more good news for the Bowtie brand, the 2016 Camaro earned the magazine's Car of the Year award. The Colorado beat a tough group of finalists to earn the nod this year, including its GMC Canyon sibling. The Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra also made this year's list. The Nissan Titan XD and latest Toyota Tacoma rounded out the challengers. A model had to shine in six criteria to earn the title: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. Like it did with the Camaro, Motor Trend posted a story online that explained the rationale for picking the Colorado again. They praised the diesel profusely and lauded the whole platform as quite a capable hauler. This year's Motor Trend SUV of the Year honor went to the Volvo XC90. The Swedish 'ute had to win against an initial group of 16 candidates that the magazine eventually whittled down to finalists that consisted of the Honda Pilot, Lincoln MKX, the combined Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and GLE Coupe, and Nissan Murano. "Seven-passenger people movers aren't supposed to drive like this," senior features editor Jonny Lieberman said about the Volvo in the announcement of the champions. The Honda CR-V won last year. In the explanation online, the judges applauded the XC90's new modular platform, and they loved both the T6 twin-charged engine and T8 hybrid version. The SUV's key enamored the writers, too. Volvo Pure Tension concept folds solar charging pavilion into trunk

Even by the 'anything-goes' standards of concept cars, this one is a head-spinner: the "Pure Tension" Volvo V60 Pavilion, commissioned by Volvo Italy and winner of the Pure Volvo Pavilion Design competition. The alien form seen hovering all over the rendered V60 is a pavilion, as in the kind erected for trade shows or outdoor events. Developed by Synthesis Design + Architecture, Buro Happold, and Fabric Images, the pavilion is a flexible mesh structure held in place by a carbon fiber rods.
What's more, the mesh is embedded with photovotaic cells so that the pavilion can absorb energy from the sun or indoor lighting, making it a portable charging station. It can power itself or the crossover, the V60 at the center of it all being a diesel hybrid that plugs straight into the pavilion. When it's time to go, the entire structure can be folded small enough to fit in the trunk of the car.
We're told it will be shown in September in Rome. Even if we never see this particular creation on the streets, it's comfortable proof that our future will eventually be wilder than we can imagine.
