The S40 is Volvo's best product by far. Now is the time to get your hands on one of these gems, because they will hold their value, and save you lots of fuel money. The turbo-charged, four door S40, is a family sports sedan, and a business person's dream from a comfort, style and performance. And this particular S40 is a one owner vehicle, with no accidents. The kind of car you can get excited about getting into, without breaking the bank. It is quality all the way with leather interior, power sunroof, and all the radio upgrades, but most importantly it is considered the safest car on the road. Volvo is innovative in their air bag technology and side impact safety standards. The turbo-charged engine has 270+ h.p., and it won't leave you inching along. This is a southern car, and has not lived in snow or salt. It is a non-smoking vehicle, is super quiet, immaculately clean, and everything is in perfect working condition. My buy it now is $16900. Kelly Blue Book Private Party Good $18111. and Kelly Blue Book Suggested Retail $21493. This Volvo is all original, and I have the vehicle history report. The tires are in perfect condition, as are the alloys. It needs nothing. You may find a cheaper , previously wrecked 2011 S40, but you won't find a cleaner, one owner one, with no accidents, than this one. I am a good ebay seller, with successful transactions. 256-527-7348 Feel free to call if you have additional questions or need additional pictures.

First they talk about driving the Volvo V60 Cross Country and Ford Explorer ST, with some thoughts about the Subaru Outback and Super Bowl commercials as well. Then they dive into the mailbag, answering questions and following up on the outcomes of previous "Spend My Money" segments. Finally they wrap things off with a new "Spend My Money," in which they help a listener pick a new car that will accommodate a new, tiny family member without sucking all the fun out of driving. Volvo to shake off Ford ties with new platforms, engines
Sat, 23 Feb 2013
It would seem Volvo is finally getting around to throwing all of Ford's things out of the apartment. Automotive News reports the Swedish automaker is preparing to unleash a range of new engines as well as a fresh platform designed entirely in house. The powerplants include an all-new four-cylinder engine set to bow before the end of this year before arriving in the US by 2014. Shortly thereafter, the world should get its first glimpse at the next-generation XC60, which will the company's first model to make use of the Volvo scalable platform architecture (SPA). US buyers can expect to see that machine on their roads by early 2015.
The next V70 and S80 will also use the SPA, though those models will carry V90 and S90 designations when they hit dealer floors. But that doesn't mean Volvo has completely weened itself off of Ford technology. The V40 will continue to ride on Ford bones until the model's next chassis can be co-developed between Volvo and Geely.
Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push
Wed, Jun 22 2016(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
