1997 Volvo 850 GLT Station Wagon Asking $2,150

The odometer reads a few thousand miles off from what the car mileage really is because of the speedometer intermittently working.  I wanted this to be my project car and have been adding new parts for about a year now but I have to give up on it and buy a pickup truck for the family. I have put around 2k into this car over the last year so I’m just trying to recoup that money at this point. Text me at (503) 784 4584 if you are interested. I’ll list all the good and bad stuff about the car..

The Good:

-Installed IPD PCV Breather system kit in 6/13

-Replaced the water pump, turbo hoses, and timing belt 12/13

-Replaced the radiator 9/13

- Replaced the trunk shocks and inner piece for the tailgate 8/13

-Brand new MSD ignition

-Upgraded IPD short ram intake

-2 of 3 engine mounts replaced (IPD parts)

-All cooling system hoses are new (IPD upgraded silicone radiator hose kit)

-New coolant expansion tank and expansion tank cap

-Custom IPD oil cap

- Tune up in October– 5 Volvo OEM spark plugs, new distributor cap, new Bosch ignition distributor rotor, IPD performance spark plug wires, and new fuel filter

-Magnetic  Oil Pan Drain Plug

- New Wahler thermostat and new housing

-Dog cage incuded

-Willing to include Volvo R Turbo Boost gauge and housing if it doesn’t sell before the car sells

-Interior in pretty good condition

-Radio works but CD player doesn’t

-Sunroof/moonroof works great no leaks

-Thule rack with locks and key

-Asking $550 under KBB value

-All new bulbs for interior dash lighting

-Upgraded IPD LED license plate lighting

-Clean Title

The Bad:

-Some minor body damage mainly paint damage on front bumper

-The locks catch sometimes

-The speedometer stopped working some of the time in August. It works like 30% of the time.

-Missing the 3rd row seating (The panel piece is there just not the actual seat piece)

-Heater core should be replaced sometime soon

-Serpentine belt should be replaced sometime soon

-Needs new brake pads

-Front struts need to be replaced

I love this car it’s real dependable, hope it finds a good

Volvo brings a whole new 2014 showroom for Geneva's approval

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

Sometimes it takes smaller automakers a bit longer than the industry average to rotate and freshen their product lineups. Volvo has taken a big swing for the 2014 model year in that regard, and has brought along a full product portfolio of new cars.
In the main, this means that the Swedish brand has fast-tracked facelifts for its already-attractive assemblage of sedans, wagons and crossovers. Volvo mainstays S60 and S80 have both gotten appearance modifications to freshen them for dealer lots, as well as added features inside the car. We're particularly happy to report that the spirited "60 cluster" models - S60, V60, XC60 - can now be had with optional paddle shifters on new, three-spoke steering wheels.
Below you'll find a whole bunch of image galleries of the revised Volvos, live and in person from the show floor in Geneva. For a bit more background on the Volvo updates, feel free to read our original announcement of the news or scroll down to catch the press release.

Volvo C30 Polestar Concept hits the 'Ring

Mon, 05 Aug 2013

It's been over three years since the Volvo C30 Polestar Concept was unveiled, driven by journalists and, as it turns out, lapped around the Nürburgring with Scandinavian Touring Car Championship driver Robert Dahlgren behind the wheel. For whatever reason, the video of the 'Ring track session was only published by the tuning company yesterday. (Another discrepancy: Did Polestar's C30 lose 46 horsepower somewhere along the line? Because the video states that it has 405 hp, while the company's website quotes 451 hp...)
Whatever the case, the tuned Volvo is a beast, much more so than the similar-looking, 250-hp 2013 Volvo C30 Polestar Limited Edition that was sold last year. With 451 hp (sounds better than 405 hp, doesn't it?), all-wheel drive, limited-slip differentials front and rear and Öhlins dampers, the Polestar Concept checks all of the right boxes for us.
For some reason, the video, which you can watch below, seems a bit vanilla to us. Perhaps the overly dramatic music takes away from the action and the beautiful sounds of the turbocharged five-cylinder engine?

Next-generation Volvo XC90 interior revealed

Tue, 27 May 2014

Volvo has officially kicked off the slow burn that will lead to the eventual unveiling of the next-generation XC90, in August. Its initial foray into the public eye will be with these, a series of 20 images of the new three-row SUVs interior, which is very, very Swedish (there are even the most adorable little Swedish flags on the seats).
In all, it looks like a positively sumptuous place to sit, with sharp looking woods and a crystal shifter, crafted by Orrefors Glassworks in Sweden. It's a clean, minimalist design that we imagine will age quite nicely.
Featured quite prominently - and the main part of the cabin that doesn't strike us as minimalist - is the very large touchscreen. Aligned in a portrait layout, which hasn't been done by too many automakers, it will be home to a new type of infotainment system that will make its debut in Volvo's flagship SUV. It also looks like we can expect digital gauges when the XC90 finally arrives.
