Hello, guys.

I bought the car in December 2012 from Off Lease Only, a dealer out of Florida that deals in cars that finish leases.  They told me that the factory drivetrain warranty was still valid and the title was clear, and if there had been a major crash neither of those two things would be correct now.  I want you to call Barry (the sales associate that handled my purchase) and with the VIN number, ask him as many questions as you want about the car. His phone number is 18882948218. I called them up myself to delve deeper into the history of the car, after this autocheck score. Apparently, the car was involved in a minor fenderbender, and the back left corner sheetmetal has been repainted.  All repairs were done by VW during the lease and the warranty was maintained.
After I got the car here in Houston, I took it to DeMontrond VW dealer in North Houston.  They inspected it and they changed the oil and filter, put the car up and the oil sump had been broken by whoever had done the previous oil change, so we replaced all those parts down there.  I have all paperwork for that.  They did not see any damage during the inspection to either the suspension linkage, chassis, or any normal indicators of major accidents.  You are also welcome to call them up with the VIN number and ask questions, their phone number is (281) 872-7200.
And as for why I am selling the car after I just got it in December, I am originally from Spain.  I was sent to Houston for work for a project that was going to last over a year originally.  It has been cut short and I am going back home.
Please, contact me with any questions you may have, I want you to have as much data as you need to feel good about the purchase.
Thanks

Hi, selling a 2009 VW Tiguan SE with 37600 miles on it.  It still has factory drivetrain warranty up to 50000 miles.  It comes with a clean VIN number history and a clear title.  The car is in absolutely perfect mechanical condition, and it only has two minor flaws... the dome lights don't work and the front seatbelts could retract better.  They still lock perfectly when pulling though.  Everything else in the car works perfect and is in perfect shape.

The paint is in pretty good condition as you can see in the pictures, but it has a few minor nicks, minor enough that they don't show in the pictures (interest of full disclosure).

All in all a good car with low mileage.  I am moving back to my country so I have to sell it.

Please email me for more photos or with any questions.  If you are local (Houston), I am glad to drive it to a mechanic of your choice so you can have it checked out at your cost.

My favorite part of the car is the sunroof... it is not just a sunroof, the whole roof of the car is clear and half of it opens... It gives a sensation of space that I find great.  It has an electric curtain you can apply in case it is too bright.  The car has tinted windows because it was a Florida car.

I have just changed the oil and filter and passed the Texas inspection, and have all the paperwork.

Thanks for bidding

Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."

Last VW bus ever made arrives at final destination

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

A Brazilian politician tried to save it, unsuccessfully, so the final Last Edition Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi was produced on December 20, 2013 and now resides in a vintage museum at Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover, Germany.
The Volkswagen Microbus was built for 56 years, starting in September 1957. Brazil was the last country still assembling it, but new safety regulations in the country requiring airbags and ABS on all cars spelled the end. When that politician introduced a bill that would pardon only the 'Bus from a death sentence, it couldn't garner the required number of votes for passage. The South American country takes the Kombi production title, though, with 1.5 million of the 3.5 million total made in the home of Copacabana beach and the girl from Ipanema.
The VW Bus is dead. Now perhaps we can turn our attentions to the still-not-totally-settled matter of the Bulli...

VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine

Sat, 07 Sep 2013

Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
