1981 VW Rabbit S, 5 speed manual. Silver over blue. Purchased last year and restored with my son, but then he found a Scirocco and we decided to sell this one. New paint over replaced doors and hatchback, rusted floors replaced, rockers and fender wells cut, welded and repaired. Paint is nice but not show quality. Car is solid...I have driven 60 miles and back with no problems. Does not burn oil or leak significantly. Original fuel injected motor, trans in good working order. Runs, shifts and performes well. Everything works, except tachometer and temp gauge...I use oil temp gauge and have not repaired water temp sender.
All necessary mechanicals replaced, including brakes, struts, fuel pumps, exhaust, tuneup. Interior in good original condition, one little rip in driver's seat. Glass good, but windshield does show pitting with its age. Bought last year from the original owner, who logged all service, oil change, and fuel fillup...fanatic. Brans new all-season radials over freshly painted 15-inch mags. Original black steel rims with snow tires also come with car.
I encourage inspections. Please be aware you are looking at a 32 year old car with personality.

Andretti Autosport partners with Volkswagen for Global Rallycross season
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Michael Andretti and Volkswagen have both been involved in Global Rallycross for a couple of years, but not together. Andretti Motorsports Marketing organized the final round of the 2012 GRC series in Las Vegas, and there were rumors then that Andretti was going to get in. Around the same time there were news reports that Volkswagen was preparing a 600-hp Polo Mk5 to race in the SuperCar class; the photo above is racer Anton Marklund in his privateer Marklund Motorsports Polo at the 2013 X-Games round in Los Angeles.
Now it's official: Andretti Autosport will campaign the 2014 GRC season with VWs. That's all that's been said for now, Andretti being busy at the moment launching four entries for IndyCar, two for Indy Lights and two for Pro Mazda. We have a feeling we'll be seeing the MkVII Golf involved, but the cars and the driver lineup will be presented at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6.

10 best new car deals in late September 2021
Wed, Sep 29 2021New car sales were drastically affected in 2020 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but things started to show signs of recovery toward the end of the year before really coming on strong in the early months of 2021. Now there's an ongoing shortage of microchips causing a great deal of pricing fluctuation and a limited supply of certain vehicles. That doesn't mean there aren't still great deals on new cars, though. Using data provided by TrueCar, we’ve compiled a list of some of the best automotive deals for September 2021. WeÂ’ve noted the original MSRP, the average transaction price, and the total savings in both dollars and as a percentage of the original sticker price. Basically, weÂ’ve done all the hard work for you! So now, all you need to do is compare deals, go on a few test drives, and maybe drive away in a great car (and an even better bargain).
