Awesome 2008 Gti, Apr Stage 1 on 2040-cars
Utica, New York, United States
I've got a 2008 Volkswagen GTI that's in great condition. In all the years I have owned this vehicle, it has never once given me any real mechanical problems. It runs flawlessly and I have maintained it meticulously. I have summer tires on it now, but I also have a set of 4 snow tires mounted on different rims that you can get changed over for free. All 8 tires are in good condition and should save you the money of having to buy new tires anytime soon. It's got a brand new battery, and doesn't need anything besides an oil change in another 2,000 miles or so. I don't want to forget to mention it has an automatic car starter! I've got 2 fobs that start the car, and also have 2 original key fobs. I've got about 95% of the paperwork of the GTI's mechanical history as well from since I owned it.
This is not a normal GTI... this GTI is APR Stage 1, which means that basically instead of a normal GTI, you get 50 more horsepower and it also actually improves your MPG (I usually get 30MPG with city and highway combined). You get a 250 horsepower car that doesn't weigh much. This car is awesome and it hauls ass. I love the car but I can't afford the payment on it anymore so I have to let it go. I've replaced it with an old Honda Civic unfortunately. It's a DSG auto/manual gearbox. Awesome leather steering wheel. Cruise Control. Sunroof. You'll love this GTI. Give me a shout and take it for a ride... you won't want to drive home in anything else! Tom (ThreeOneFive) 272-5059 *** 100% Positive feedback. Bid with Confidence. *** |

Volkswagen CrossBlue previews a three-row future, diesel-hybrid power [w/video]
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Volkswagen looks to be getting ready to jump into the large three-row crossover game. The automaker has officially pulled back the curtain on the CrossBlue Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Designers and engineers penned the machine specifically for the Canadian and US markets, and with a plug-in diesel electric hybrid drivetrain, the hulking five-door, at least in concept form, should offer substantially better efficiency than anything else on the market. The drivetrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 305 horsepower and a ludicrous 516 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifting detail, while one electric motor spins the front wheels. The second motor spins the back axle independently, make the CrossBlue a through-the-road hybrid.
As a result, the crossover can pop to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Perhaps more impressively, the CrossBlue can whir around on all-electric propulsion for up to 14 miles at up to 75 mph. Once the diesel four kicks in, the drivetrain can yield up to 39 mpg, though Volkswagen says the hardware can hit 89 MPGe on a full charge thanks to a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Check out the full press release below for more information.
Volkswagen CrossBlue Coupe is a green fun-machine we want to drive
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Think back to January's Detroit Auto Show. Those of you that are fans of the Volkswagen brand, impressed with green technology or simply fall into the "diesel geek" category, will almost certainly remember VW's CrossBlue concept with its diesel/electric hybrid powertrain, seating for seven, and somewhat awkward crossover styling. It was an impressive piece of future tech, to be sure, though it left something to be desired in the, well, desirability department.
Here in Shanghai, VW has brought along a CrossBlue Coupe concept that would seem to include most of the goodness of the original, but flavored with more sport and style this time around.
The CrossBlue Coupe makes use of the same electric drive components as the larger three-row concept: two electric motors (front and rear) powered by a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion battery. However, where the original concept made use of a TDI four-cylinder, the Coupe substitutes a 295-horsepower, direct-injection, gasoline-burning V6.
