Hello in eBay land..  Check out this fantastic find!  2001 Volkswagen EuroVan.  Most of you reading this love the EuroVans as much as I do.  I have owned MANY.. This one is my favorite color however, Techno Blue Metallic.  I have always loved this this color!  The more time I spend around EuroVans the more I like them.  This is the perfect vehicle for the person with the spirit of adventure.  Because they are front wheel drive, they are great in the snow and bad weather and they are just big enough to use and camp out of, without being so big that they sit around waiting for the fun.  The folks that I know that own EuroVans use them every single day for any one of their million uses.  Bikes, Surfboards, Skis, Snowboards, Trade Shows, Mobile Office, Camper..  The list goes on..

Because I am a fan of these vehicles, I know what to look out for when buying them too and this one passed all of my tests.  First of all rust..  THIS IS A 100% RUST FREE VEHICLE..  Next the transmission.  Known as the Achilles’ heel of the Eurovan   It is important to check for slipping and leaks and hard shifts too..  This van has a perfect transmission.  Engine..  24 Valves and   NO “check engine” light coming on..  No hard starts or missing or dripping or smoking ever..  She runs and drives exactly as you hope.  Also, the power windows are fast and powerful too.

The Eurovan in my opinion is the only “minivan” with elegance and style too.  It may be 13 years old, but there is still nothing made today that is close to this.

It seats 7 passengers and is easy to get them in and out.  Just jump in and go.  They are also super easy to see out of as the windows are all around the van.  No blind spots and also a higher seating position that helps you see over other cars.  This van is not a weekender edition, but it is still fun and easy to camp out of.  The seats fold flat and there are two different ways to set up the sleeping area depending on the amount of space you require.  I pictured both ways.  The captain’s chairs also can be positioned facing forward or back giving many interior possibilities.

This EuroVan is immaculate inside and out.  The Techno Blue paint is beautiful and the interior is nice and clean.  There is no perfume smells or smoke, food, or pet smells either.

This VW is 100% ready.  It needs nothing to be used and enjoyed today.  All the services are up to date and everything works perfectly.  The Air Conditioning blows ICE COLD FRONT AND REAR.  This one also has a power moonroof that works perfectly too.

This EuroVan was returned to Volkswagen North America in 2003 as part of their “Lemon Law Buyback” program.  Strict California laws allow for returns for lots of reasons.  When VW gets one back they learn from them and fix the problems properly.  After the buyback VW marketed the van through their Armstrong Volkswagen and they have serviced the van ever since.  Please look at the detailed Carfax provided.  This EuroVan has gone a long way since then..  I have not had one in better condition mechanically.

The van also has tires with 90% tread and new brakes and rotors on all four corners.  This van will pass the most rigorous inspections so bring them.  She will impress the harshest critics.

If I am forgetting to mention anything it is not a negative, because there are very few.  This is a super nice and extra clean EuroVan that will impress the next owner just as much as it has me.  Bid with confidence and please ask questions if you have them.  I also can give instant shipping quotes, so let me know where you are and I will tell you what it would cost to get it to you.  Or fly out and drive it home and make a vacation out of it!  I will hold the van as long as you need me to as long as it’s paid for.  I am selling the EuroVan with a LOW RESERVE, but I must say there are probably cheaper ones out there, I doubt there are many nicer.  Please read the following points…

#1.  Only bid if you have intentions to buy.

#2. Ask any and all questions before bidding.

#3. Please contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have zero or negative feedback.

#4. This is an AS-IS sale.  I have done my best to describe it exactly as I see it but it has no warranties or guarantees except a clean and clear legal title after payment.

#5. I will not accept Pay-Pal for the balance payment of the Volkswagen.  Pay-Pal is for deposits only, the balance must be paid by certified check or wire.  Legitimate and legal buyers only please.

Just be real and genuine and I will make sure that the winning bidder is happy with his or her purchase.  I have 100% positive feedback and I plan on keeping that.  Also, I will end the sale for the right offer so don’t wait till the last second and worry about missing out.  Just call me and we will work out a fair price..  Again, ask questions about anything UP FRONT please.  After you win is not the time to do your research..  I will help with anything, but before the auction end.  If you have conditions attached to your bids, please let me know them.  I am confident I can put your concerns at ease.  I am a licensed and bonded Oregon Auto Dealer and will follow sales procedures to the letter of the law.

Volkswagen recalls 20k Routans to replace ignition switch

Thu, Apr 16 2015

Volkswagen is recalling 20,676 examples of the 2009-2010 Routan minivan to replace their key fobs and ignition switches. This new campaign is linked to one from FCA in March. In these vehicles, it's possible that if the switch is jarred, the key can be jostled out of the Run position. If this happens, then the engine shuts off, and the airbags, power steering and power brakes are all deactivated, which is a safety problem. The campaign to fix this issue began last year when FCA recalled 700,000 minivans, and the Routan was also affected because of its shared platform. However, in March 2015 FCA updated its recall to replace the whole ignition switch with an improved design, rather than the original plan of just a new detent ring. With this latest update, the VWs are getting the same fix. Until the minivans are repaired, VW says that drivers should remove all items from their key ring, including the fob. The recall is expected to begin in April for owners of the 2009 Routan and in August for the 2010 models, according to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (available here as a PDF). Some vehicles already have a new detent ring under the earlier recall, but they still need to be fixed again to get the ignition switch. Related Video: RECALL Subject : Ignition Switch may Turn Off Report Receipt Date: APR 01, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V194000 Component(s): ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Potential Number of Units Affected: 20,676 All Products Associated with this Recall Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s) VOLKSWAGEN ROUTAN 2009-2010 Details Manufacturer: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. SUMMARY: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2009 Routan vehicles manufactured June 25, 2008, to June 10, 2009, and 2010 Routan vehicles manufactured October 1, 2009, to August 11, 2010. This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. Road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine. CONSEQUENCE: If the ignition key inadvertently moves into the OFF or ACCESSORY position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including, but not limited to, air bags, power steering, and power braking.

Translogic 171: EV West Karmann Ghia Electric Conversion

Wed, Feb 25 2015

Translogic checks out EV West, one of the world leaders in electric vehicle conversions. Host Jonathon Buckley interviews EV West owner Michael Bream and test drives a converted 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. What drives EV West to electrify classic cars may surprise some. "We're not doing this because we're the hardcore environmentalists or we're trying to save the earth," says Bream. "If we can't at least double your horsepower and torque, we won't touch the car." In fact, EV West brings a race-tested performance pedigree to back up those boasts. The company competed in the electric class at Pikes Peak, has run through the desert at Baja, and in general has successfully proved that battery-electric vehicles can compete at a high level. 2015 Volkswagen GTI: Introduction [w/video]

Fri, Feb 20 2015

If you've ever met me, listened to me on the podcast, or come to know me through my writing during the last five years at Autoblog, the following phrase should not surprise you: I freaking love the Volkswagen GTI. I've long said that the GTI is the perfect daily driver for the everyday enthusiast – a car that offers as much practicality as it does performance, served up in a semi-premium, attractive package. I've preached the GTI's story to anyone who would listen, and I've managed to convince several people to actually go out and buy one (those folks later telling me they're super happy with their cars, by the way). As for this new, seventh-generation GTI, I'll offer a little backstory. In 2013, Volkswagen flew me to Germany to attend the Frankfurt Motor Show, where I also got to drive a number of the company's products, including the CrossBlue crossover concept. While waiting for my turn to pilot the CrossBlue in an airport hangar, one of the German PR folks directed my attention to a white, four-door GTI sitting outside, and said I was free to have my way with it for, oh, 20 minutes... on an empty runway... in the rain. This was my first experience with the new GTI, in a fairly loaded spec, with all the performance goodies. Needless to say, I loved it. But my other big belief about the GTI is that this car is truly perfect in its base form. The sixth-generation car was a blast without any dynamic controls or performance whats-its, and while those things certainly help make this new hot Golf a more enthusiastic package than ever, in my eyes, they aren't completely necessary. That's why, when it came time to order a long-term car, I took control of the options. The end result is the carbon steel gray GTI you see here, in four-door S (base) spec, with a six-speed manual transmission. Yes, I did outfit our car with the only two options available to S shoppers (aside from the $1,495 performance pack) – the $995 lighting package and $695 driver assistance pack – but other than that, it's a no-nonsense hot hatch. No sunroof. No leather. No fully power-adjustable seats. No navigation. No dual-zone climate control. No automatic headlights. No upgraded audio. The bottom line is that our long-term GTI comes in with an as-tested price of $27,895, including the $820 destination charge. That's right: a $28,000 GTI. What our car does have is everything you'd want in a GTI.
