Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
NEVADA CLASSIC CAR DEALER 40339, VIN # 2242056063
The best thing about this 1974 Volkswagen Transporter Kombi Bus, besides how cool it is... is how great it runs ! and also has a VERY nice interior and new modern Stereo as well.... it's has what could be 104,000 original miles, but True Mileage is Unknown.... the last owner was a real Dub Fan and added new axle boots, repacked bearings, new starter, new fuel pump, fuel filters and fuel lines, dual carbs rebuilt. it's an 1800 cc. I.8 liter long block engine, lovingly referred to as the pancake motor and it was just rebuilt 8,000 miles ago. Currently the fuel gauge is not working, but a new one is on the way and will go with the bus to its new home. PS - someone just stole the back side taillight marker, as you can see in the photo... but a new one has already been ordered & will be installed on the bus soon! sorry about that ! Hard to understand why anyone would do such a thing ! We will only keep the bus inside from now on... The bus also has a brand new JVC stereo unit wth Bluetooth and Infinity speakers. As you can see from the photos, the bus has the usual minor scrapes, dents and scratches that these old buses tend to accumulate on their thin skin over the years, but all the mechanical hard part/best part is done... it runs like a champ and so far has not even dropped a speck of oil on our showroom floor ! So the bus is ready to paint or decorate to your desires or wrap it with graphics for your brand or business... I love these buses and this one has a great and very dependable personality we hope you will love soon as well !!! Please note, I am a boutique classic car dealer in Nevada, so any Nevada residents who purchase this car to register in Nevada will need to pay a 8.1 % Nevada sales tax and a $99 documentation fee... but I have taken this into consideration in the great-value pricing of this car. Come to Vegas to party and drive home an incredible vehicle that is quite a lot of class, fun and quality for the money ! Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
Volkswagen Multivan Alltrack Concept takes the luxury van life off road
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Volkswagen dug into its commercial vehicle fleet for its latest Geneva Motor Show concept, blending the versatile body of the T5 MultiVan with a luxuriously appointed interior, 4Motion all-wheel drive and a thrifty diesel powertrain.
That 177-horsepower diesel engine routes its power to the AWD system through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Based on that alone, we'd expect the Multivan Alltrack's behind-the-wheel experience to be somewhat familiar. That all-wheel-drive system and van body contribute to the 21-degree approach and 15-degree departure angles of this soft-roading MultiVan.
What wouldn't be familiar is its exquisite cabin. Volkswagen opted for a nautical theme for the concept's interior, featuring grey-blue leather seats from Poltrona Frau and a floor finished in real wood. The dark wood trim can also be found throughout the interior, running below the windows and on the dash.
Volkswagen shows off performance-ish Passat concept
Mon, 14 Jan 2013As part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut package, Volkswagen has rolled out a sportier version of the Passat sedan, though it's strictly conceptual for now. A small dose of go-fast visuals have been added to the handsome Volkswagen, including 19-inch wheels, carbon-capped mirrors, an advanced front lighting system, LED taillamps and dual exhaust. Some carbon bits and upgraded leather are found inside the cabin, as well.
But the real performance chops come in the form of a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 250 horsepower to the Passat's front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. That's a good boost in power over the 170 hp of the base 2.5-liter inline-five, but not quite as potent as the 3.6-liter VR6. A lowered sport suspension and revised electronic steering are also on hand, making things slightly more involving out on the road... we assume.
It's not quite the performance concept we were hoping for, but a more enthusiastic Passat isn't necessarily a bad thing. Scroll down for the press release.
