1991 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia Camper!! INCREDIBLY LOW MILES!! Great Nostalgia Piece for the Volkswagen or Limbo crowd! I've been tracking the listings on ebay and on different car sales sites to see the average price of what these go for, I'm very impressed with how people have maintained their love for these awesome vehicles! This is a nice van that has gray interior, and has been garage kept since owned. This camper is in very good shape! The oil has been changed recently and oil still is in good shape. We put fresh gas in it about 3 days ago from the date of this listing. The headlights have no oxidation and look almost brand new. Turn the key and it'll fire right up! As of last use, the Sink, Stove and Fridge all work!!

I've tried to get the best angles in the pictures, but there are some issues to address regarding the condition: The Sunroof has a small piece missing near the seal, I'm contemplating buying a new one. They have one on Gowesty.com for $29.99. Since it has been in the garage, we've had no reason to replace it, and when we had it out camping, we covered it with a trash bag to keep any water out. Due to the fact that it has been sitting for awhile, there are some slight tears in the canvas for the roof. There are all VERY small, I don't think any of them are longer than an inch or two. I think the canvas is probably the biggest issue with this camper. There is a very small rock chip in the passenger side of the windshield, it is several years old and has not spread at all. It's maye a 1/4 inch across. Very small. There is a cassette player  in the van, but none of the buttons are attached to it anymore, I'll update this post if I can find them.  The bench seat and the carpet between the two front seats have some good size stains on them, They could definitely use a good shampoo. The hydraulics for the back hatch do not work, but these look like very universal hydraulic posts, and seem to be a pretty cheap and easy fix.  The top of the van and the bumpers have the usual fading. I haven't seen ANY rust on the van so far, I will update this post if I do. Any questions or special pictures requests, I encourage you to message me!  Thanks!

On Mar-11-14 at 21:12:54 PDT, seller added the following information:

I just wanted to reiterate... The van starts up with no problem, but it does run a little rough. I honestly can't remember what another one sounds like or what it is supposed to sound like. I've heard from a friend that it should sound like that as it "Sounds like a Volkswagen." I'm planning on getting it inspected before the auction ends, and if there are any major issues, I'll either list it, or cancel the auction until it's fixed. I've also added a picture of the engine, as I completely forgot to add it before. Also The gas gauge does not function correctly and it could use new tires pretty soon. As before, any questions, Please ask!

VW internal investigation finds 'no evidence' against suspended engineers

Tue, Oct 6 2015

Volkswagen is still working out the chain of events that led to emissions-evading software being installed in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide and deciding who was responsible for the treachery. So far, the German automotive giant's internal investigation hasn't publicly named many suspects, and three suspended executive-level engineers have been found not to be culpable in the wrongdoing, according to an anonymous insider speaking to Reuters. VW knows that the software began being installed in the EA 189 engine in 2008. The internal investigation has found that the emissions-evading tech was created because the powerplant was found to fail US standards. Plus, the diesel mill wasn't meeting cost targets, according to Reuters. The automaker responded by suspending over 10 employees, but three top engineers among them might not have been involved. Those put on leave include Heinz-Jakob Neusser from VW, Ulrich Hackenberg from Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz who led Porsche's research and group-wide engine development. The internal detective work hasn't turned up any evidence against these three men. In addition to VW's own inquires, government investigators in both the US and Germany are taking a serious look into the company's actions, too. So far, the automaker is setting aside about $7.3 billion to pay to fix the vehicles with the evasive software. Depending on what authorities find, the costs could grow quickly. Beyond the financial implications, the scandal has led to a serious shakeup in VW's corporate structure. Related Video:

Latest Volkswagen Transporter shows itself as the modern Microbus

Thu, Apr 16 2015

With a model history dating back to 1950, the newly unveiled Volkswagen Transporter has a long legacy to uphold as one of elder statesmen of the commercial vehicle world. The sixth generation maintains the classic boxy look, and VW even admits that the shape is "modernized cautiously." Still, the changes show handsome improvements like creases in the hood and a grille that better integrates into the headlights. Rather than styling, economy is more on the minds of many commercial buyers. VW ticks that box with an average 15-percent improvement in fuel consumption across the lineup, thanks in part to standard stop/start. The engine range includes a 2.0-liter diesel four-cylinder available in 83-, 101-, 148- and 201-horsepower variants. There's also a 2.0-liter gasoline-fueled four with either 148 hp or 201 hp. VW is really working to make the Transporter a safer, more comfortable carrier for its new generation. The van is available with features like adjustable shocks, adaptive cruise control, a power tailgate and the company's City Assist Braking system, which is capable of automatically bringing the van to a stop from under 19 mph. The Driver Alert System even monitors behavior behind the wheel and advises when to take a break. VW offers the T6 in many variants, including the Multivan for carrying people and mixed use Caravelle, but the highlight at launch is the fantastic looking Generation Six special edition (pictured above). Based on the Multivan Comfortline, the retro, two-tone paint is optional, but standard features include LED headlights, chrome trim and Alcantara seats. While the latest Transporter isn't coming to the US, European buyers can order one soon with a base price of 23,035 euros ($27,000). Generation SIX: world premiere of the new T series Classic Transporter design is even sharper, more precise, higher end Better fuel economy – new engines with stop/start function as standard Better safety – latest driver assistance systems More comfort and convenience – adaptive chassis, electrically adjustable seats and electric tailgate More information – new radio-navigation system with integrated online services Prices start below level of previous model Hannover/Amsterdam, 15 April 2015 – Today, the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand presents the sixth generation of the successful Transporter model series that is produced in Hannover.

Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs

Wed, Nov 29 2017

BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
