1979 Ww Bus One Owner It Can Only Be Original Once Great Patina on 2040-cars

1979 WW Bus "One owner" It can only be Original once.
This 1979 VW bus was owned by a 70 year old man who drove it to church and work (2 miles away). Bought at local VW Dealership and has never been out of Southern California. This is an everyday driver. I bought it from him right before he was going to paint it. The Patina of the original paint is fantastic. Just buffed it out. New brakes, new Hankook tires, new hoses. This Bus is not perfect (door cards are a little sloppy, slinding door card needs to be put back, little tear in the back seat carpet cover) but it runs fantastic and "is like a barnfind" but was driven daily. I would love to keep it but am really in the market for a 1968-1971 Bus. Thanks Gary 1-714-315-4683 Very low "Reserve" On Mar-11-14 at 14:02:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Just found out that the entire undercarriage was anti rust coated at delivery in 1979 to the dealership. |

VW announces recall of 26,000 2014 models with 1.8T engines
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Volkswagen has followed up on a stop-sale order from earlier this month, announcing a voluntarily recall of 26,400 vehicles that are powered by the brand's 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new mill replaced the despised 2.5-liter five-cylinder in the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible last year. Weirdly, though, of the 26,452 units covered in the recall, only 1,655 are customer vehicles.
According to VW, the affected models were built between February 1 and April 6 of this year, and feature bad O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler. Apparently, the faulty O-rings could cause a fluid leak, as they won't seal between the oil cooler and transmission. VW is blaming a material change from a supplier for the problem.
There have been no fires, injuries, accidents or fatalities relating to this issue, which VW will be fixing free of charge. Customers will need to report to dealers to have the O-rings replaced.
VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. Scroll down for a press release highlighting the automaker's future fuel-saving initiatives.
