Woodhull, New York, United States
1973 Volkswagen Westfalia Ground up restoration with over 400 man hours. This is one of the nicest campers you'll find on the market today. Restoration was done with attention to detail. The interior coach work is beautiful and the upgrade to a 914 motor makes this camper super reliable and a little more special. Seller is only selling because he is simply not going to use or enjoy this camper they way it should be. Originally from California, this bus began its restoration with minimal rust all of which was repaired. The body is straight and the interior is complete. Brand new two tone base coat and clear coat paint job with quality Dupont products inside and out, rims, bumpers, etc. The under-body has been sealed with rust preventative undercoating. The upholstery includes new foam and features pleated tan leather-like vinyl with accenting ivory piping. All original furniture has been restored better than new including the ice box and sink. The Dashboard is excellent with no cracks and a new special rubber / plastic paint. The motor has been rebuilt and has the Weber 2 barrel carburetor conversion for more power. Electronic Ignition was also installed along with a Cylinder Head Temp Gauge to make sure the motor was running propoerly and the operator can monitor its vitals as it's air cooled.

VW Up Buggy may be headed to showrooms
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Volkswagen showed six conceptual takes on its Up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, one of those being the Up Buggy. Although few will probably remember it, VW has not forgotten it, applying for a patent for the Meyers Manx revival roadster way back in March 2012 and being approved in June of this year, according to a report in Autocar. That will give the automaker a 14-year lock on the design while it decides whether to move forward with a reboot of its past.
A patent doesn't mean the Up Buggy will ever move beyond the sheet-of-paper stage, but Autocar says VW is studying the market to see if a production version is feasible. We can't see North America ever getting it, but even so, we wouldn't complain if they made it - especially if they put an exposed engine in back that was set off by 18-inch-long twin tailpipes jutting straight up into the air. However, for a company that aims to be the world's number-one automaker by 2018, a niche vehicle for its mass-market brand would be a surprising use of resources.
Volkswagen Golf Variant Concept R-Line puts the sport in SportWagen
Wed, 06 Mar 2013With the introduction of the newest Volkswagen Golf Variant, we get an early look at what will most likely be the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here in the US. To further wet our appetities, VW is now teasing something a little sportier with the Concept R-Line. Looking the part of a GTI wagon (or a stretched Golf R), the Golf Variant Concept R-Line has a production-ready appearance that has us hoping we'll see this sporty wagon sooner rather than later.
The R-Line starts off with a new fascia that isn't quite as aggressive as the recently introduced GTI, but it gives the new styling some extra punch. Below the fascia is a lower splitter that visually carries back into the rocker panel extensions, and the rear of the car gets some bright exhaust tips and a rear diffuser. The Lapis Blue Metallic paint job probably does enough on its own to add a sporty flair to the Golf wagon, and it's all finished off with 18-inch split-spoke wheels. Inside, the Concept R-Line shows off sport seats wrapped in carbon leather featuring blue nappa inserts in the middle.
Rightfully so, VW brought the Concept R-Line to Geneva with its TDI and 4Motion all-wheel-drive system. A sporty, all-wheel-drive diesel wagon? Yes, please. Scroll down for the full press blast with all the details.
