The ultimate sports and leisure vehicle, this classic 'ol Pop-Top Westy is ready when you are. I know that she's not that snazzy, and I know that the interior is a little worn, but that's what gives this van its unique character. You can drive this anywhere and not have to worry about a little sand on the floor, or getting a door ding at the local Cantina. Just drive it and have fun with your friends and family. The best thing about this cool bus is how well it runs and drives. I will highlight some of its great mechanical features:
- Rebuilt 1600 dual-port engine which just had a major tune-up and oil change. I was told that the engine was rebuilt at some point but do not have the paperwork. It does have 115 to 120 pounds compression and runs like a top.
- 4-speed manual transaxle shifts smooth and doesn't whine or pop-out of any gears.
- Great brakes with good pedal, stops straight with no grinding or pulling.
- Tight front-end doesn't wander or clunk. The ball joints were replaced recently so it drives straight down the road.
- Nice factory wheels and chrome VW hubcaps, with like new heavy duty tires.
- The 12 volt electrical system works well; head-lights, tail-lights, blinkers, horn, wipers, brake lights and new battery.
- Windshield has small crack in corner and doesn't affect your vision. It does have new wiper blades to give you that clear view of life.
- CD Player with four speaker comes with Grateful Dead live CD
- Great collection of sweet stickers from places this bus has wandered...
This is is a relatively rust free van, with a great mint green finish, what you see is what you get. The front floors are a little rusty but could be easily repaired. The under carriage is rust free and in excellent condition. The body does have some scrapes and bruises with body work in the left rear quarter. It's not perfect, but has tons of potential.
Folks, I'm selling this van in its unrestored state so that it can be purchased at a reasonable price and enjoyed immediately. The lucky buyer can drive it just the way it is for along time, or restore it in their own good time, to their own personal taste and budget. If you have any questions feel free to ask or if you're local and serious feel free to set-up a personal viewing. I am open to offers on my Buy It Now price, but will only negotiate over the phone or in person and will only do so through my E-Bay listing. You're welcome to call a me anytime with questions or concerns @ 720-270-5637. Also, feel free to to learn more about my world by clicking on the "ME" link next to my feedback..Thanks for checking out my auction and good luck bidding. Peace, Love, and Old VW Buses....

This semi-autonomous stroller from VW is a great idea
Thu, Aug 13 2015We're still on the fence about the prospect of autonomous vehicles. On the one hand, they promise to make commuting a breeze and collisions a thing of the past. On the other, they stand to take us away from the steering wheel, and that's something we can't abide. But an autonomous stroller, now that's the kind of idea we can get behind. Shame such a thing doesn't exist... right? That's what we assumed until we saw this spot from Volkswagen. The German automaker's Dutch office posted on Facebook, asking the public for suggestions on how the company might improve other products, aside from automobiles. The most popular response was a baby stroller with automatic braking. So they went ahead and built one. The resulting prototype – and we're sorry to report that it's just a prototype for the time being – doesn't just have automatic braking. It can even follow the parent (or nanny or whomever) around under its own power and with its own steering. It's got the adaptive cruise control sensor from a Golf and is programmed to keep a fixed distance from the guardian in front. Or so the video suggests, at any rate. There's a good chance that there's some manner of trickery going on here, probably in the form of a hidden engineer off-screen with a remote control, and hopefully without an actual baby on board. Whether it's real or not, the invention in the commercial is sure to pique the interest of the parents among us, and maybe get those without kids thinking about taking that big step... stroller autonomously in tow.
Volkswagen forced to sell stake in Suzuki
Mon, Aug 31 2015The six-year-long failed marriage between Volkswagen and Suzuki has finally come to an end. Almost. An arbitration panel in London issued its final verdict which, according to a VW press release, cleared Suzuki in terminating the agreement, so VW now needs to get rid of its 19.9-percent share. However, the tribunal's decision said VW performed all of its obligations and Suzuki didn't – the Japanese carmaker should have given VW last-call rights for a delivery of diesel engines, but failed to. The breach opens Suzuki up to damage claim, but so far VW only says it reserves the right to sue. Now that Suzuki has an outside investor to provide funds it meant to get from VW, perhaps both can get back to their reasons for being. The press release is below. Ruling in arbitration proceedings: Cooperation between Volkswagen and Suzuki deemed terminated - Arbitral tribunal confirms Volkswagen met contractual obligations and finds that Suzuki has ordinary right to terminate agreement based on reasonable notice - Volkswagen to dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects positive effect on Company's earnings and liquidity from transaction - Arbitrators also find that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has right to claim damages Wolfsburg, 30 August 2015 - An arbitral tribunal in London has announced its ruling in the dispute between Suzuki Motor Corporation and Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft. As a result, cooperation between the two parties is deemed terminated. The arbitrators confirmed that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement and found that Suzuki has terminated the agreement upon reasonable notice. Volkswagen will therefore now dispose of its 19.9 percent stake in Suzuki and expects a positive effect on the Company's earnings and liquidity from the transaction. The arbitral tribunal also confirmed that Suzuki breached its contractual obligations to Volkswagen under the agreement and that Volkswagen has the right to claim damages. "We welcome the clarity created by this ruling. The tribunal rejected Suzuki's claims of breach and found that Volkswagen met its contractual obligations under the cooperation agreement. Nevertheless, the arbitrators found that termination of the cooperation agreement by Suzuki on reasonable notice was valid, and that Volkswagen must dispose of the shares purchased.
Volkswagen rolls out all-new Polo R WRC
Sat, Jan 17 2015Volkswagen may have ruled out producing a road-going Polo more potent than the new GTI, but on the rally stage, the Polo R WRC has proven absolutely dominant. Introduced to the World Rally Championship in 2013, the Polo R won ten out of the baker's dozen rallies in its debut season, and all but one last year to win both titles two years running. That's quite an act to follow, and the task falls to the machine you see here. The new second-generation Polo R WRC was just revealed at Autostadt in Wolfsburg. The rally machine has been substantially reworked for 2015, with a new livery, new bodywork and new oily bits. In fact, Volkswagen says it has revised three quarters of the components, and while it has not yet detailed the "many new ideas [implemented] under the bonnet," it has identified the hydraulic gearbox as "the biggest innovation." Further details are still to come, but this is our first look at the new machine with which Sebastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen – who finished last year's championship in first, second and third, respectively – will tackle this year's championship, starting with the Rally Monte Carlo on January 22-25. FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) New technology, new design: presenting the second generation Polo R WRC - World premiere of the 318-hp Polo R WRC in Wolfsburg - Member of the Board, Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser, launches title defence - WRC kicks off with the iconic Rally Monte Carlo from 22–25 January Wolfsburg (15 January 2015). In top form, both technically and visually: Volkswagen presented the second generation of the Polo R WRC in Autostadt, Wolfsburg. The works team from Wolfsburg has its sights set firmly on another successful defence of its titles in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) with a new car and a new look. Volkswagen completed a clean sweep of all the World Championship titles when the Polo R WRC made its debut in 2013, before repeating this impressive feat last season. Continuity is the key to the driving line-up for 2015: double world champions Sebastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) and team-mates Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) and Andreas Mikkelsen/Ola Floene (N/N) will roll down the starting ramp and head onto the first special stage of the year for Volkswagen at the legendary Rally Monte Carlo on 22 January. "The new Polo R WRC has undergone intense further development, both on the inside and the outside," said Dr.
