Fully Restored 1966 Volkswagen Beetle Bug Vw Classic on 2040-cars
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
1966 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle is among the most sought after of all classic Beetles. This project was a FULL restoration (body off and pieced out – stripped to bare metal, primed and painted) from the floor pans up – completed Summer 2012. Glossy paint job, finished in Pepper White (Mini Cooper, BMW) with a brown interior with black accents. Bug has been stored in a garage since
its restoration began. Every component is present and functional (headlights,
brake lights, wipers, horn, etc). My
sixteen year old daughter needs a starter car, so this one needs to go to make
room!
This is an excellent collectable car that was built to drive and enjoy, and it has been used as such! I constantly receive compliments when I take it out. Car is currently registered in NC with a clear title. See video posted on youtube.com for more detail (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj63Ah8_iyk). Pick up in the local area or buyer will arrange shipping. Feel free to contact me with questions or if you want more photos. DO NOT contact me if you are a dealer unless you wish to make an offer. A successful auction will end with buyer securing vehicle with a $500 deposit made through Paypal within 48 hours of bidding. Full payment by cash or certified bank check in person due before vehicle/title will be released. Please note that this vehicle is also being advertised through other mediums, so the listing may end early. |

Skoda unveils Volkswagen Up!-based Citigo
Tue, 27 Sep 2011This is the all-new Skoda Citigo, and if you're thinking that it looks rather familiar, that's because its Volkswagen-badged kin recently debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. That's right, the long-rumored Skoda version of Volkswagen's new Up! city car has finally arrived.
Buyers will have a choice of two 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines - one with 59 horsepower, the other with a 74 hp and a blistering 106 mph top speed - both mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Powerful they are not, but these three-bangers should prove to be extremely efficient, with Skoda quoting fuel economy numbers of 62.8 and 60.1 miles per gallon, respectively (on the European cycle).
Being a Skoda, the Citigo will go on sale in its home market of the Czech Republic this fall, with the rest of Europe getting the car next summer. Follow the jump for Skoda's official release.
Volkswagen Tiguan and Touareg take the R-Line
Mon, 14 Jan 2013
Volkswagen's Detroit Auto Show presence is big on utility this year, with the CrossBlue three-row concept vehicle occupying the lion's share of the limelight, both literally and figuratively. But that isn't stopping Volkswagen from lavishing attention on its already established crossover and sport utility vehicles with new R-Line derivatives. The Tiguan and its big brother Touareg are getting a host of look-faster items to increase their sporting appeal.
On the outside, the Tiguan R-Line receives handsome 19-inch alloys peering out from beneath fender extensions, premium lighting (bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps), along with matching side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. On the inside, sportier accommodations include aluminum trim and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. As with other R-Line models, there are no powertrain modifications to go with the more aggressive visuals (that being the province of R standalone performance models like the R32), though the suspension has been firmed up an unspecified amount. The Tiguan R-Line will be available in front- or all-wheel drive configuration.
US-spec 2015 Volkswagen Golf and GTI to finally debut in New York
Tue, 12 Mar 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf is hardly new to us. In fact, we've already driven it. And elsewhere in the world, the new Golf is already winning awards. Even so, we still have yet to see the US-spec version of the car, though that won't be the case much longer. As part of the New York Auto Show festivities later this month, Volkswagen will finally show off the 2015 Golf models destined for our shores.
Three different versions of the Golf will debut under the lights of New York City's Javits Center: the turbocharged TSI, oil-sipping TDI and hotter GTI. The first model in that list uses Volkswagen's new 1.8-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, replacing the outgoing 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline five-cylinder. The latter two models use familiar engines: the 2.0-liter TDI diesel and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, respectively.
Even though the new Golf officially debuts later this month, it won't go on sale in the US until the first quarter of 2014. We'll be waiting patiently.
