This is a Custom Baja bug built on a 1973 RUST FREE Chassis with custom paint, 2100cc Dual carb custom chrome Engine and custom baja bodywork...... this was a totally custom build which cost tens of thousands to Build. It was shown and bought for thousands more than my reserve at Barrett Jackson by the previous owner who owned it for a number of years and kept it inside with his 100 plus other show cars. .

Complete new custom interior, suspension, paint, brakes, bearings, mounts and bushings , engine and everything else. It was TOTALLY RESTORED with an open check book and the converted into a Custom Show Quality Baja Bug. NO EXPENSE WAS SPARED AND NOTHING WAS LEFT OUT !!! It still looks like brand new and has only 235 miles since the build. It has new tires and battery.
It was part of a collectors private collection before I bought it.

It features all HEAVY DUTY bus components in the drive train. EVERYTHING IN THIS BUILD WAS NEW or rebuilt .This Baja can be driven daily or in the dunes and built to last a lifetime trouble free as the best heavy duty components were used although this one was specially built for a collection/ museum and never saw any such use. it was shown and driven by an adult since it was built.

After I bought it to be part of my collection, every thing was gone through and I currently drive it every couple of weeks......

Volkswagen shows off performance-ish Passat concept

As part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut package, Volkswagen has rolled out a sportier version of the Passat sedan, though it's strictly conceptual for now. A small dose of go-fast visuals have been added to the handsome Volkswagen, including 19-inch wheels, carbon-capped mirrors, an advanced front lighting system, LED taillamps and dual exhaust. Some carbon bits and upgraded leather are found inside the cabin, as well.
But the real performance chops come in the form of a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 250 horsepower to the Passat's front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. That's a good boost in power over the 170 hp of the base 2.5-liter inline-five, but not quite as potent as the 3.6-liter VR6. A lowered sport suspension and revised electronic steering are also on hand, making things slightly more involving out on the road... we assume.
It's not quite the performance concept we were hoping for, but a more enthusiastic Passat isn't necessarily a bad thing. Scroll down for the press release.

Volkswagen and Funny or Die take humorous spin in 2015 Golf

Volkswagen is partnering with Target and Funny or Die in a bizarre ad for the latest Golf starring comedian Rob Huebel, probably best known for his work on Childrens Hospital on Adult Swim.
The commercial is titled The Way Too Helpful Neighbor and stars Huebel as the eponymous neighbor. The challenge is for Huebel to help improve his buddy's apartment before the guy meets his girlfriend's parents for the first time. The obvious way to do that is to slide a new Golf through an actual Target in Texas, while simultaneously showcasing the store's goods and the car's features.
The commercial is airing online now and on TBS during breaks in Conan O'Brien's show, with sneak peaks during other programs on the network. Auto advertising is becoming pretty normal for Funny or Die at this point, though, with the site previously partnering with Fiat for several videos.
