1974 super beetle. This is an older restoration. It has had a color change. It was originally orange. The best part of this car is that the body, channels and pan are rust free. No patches !!
This convertible is a great driver/ cruise night car. If your looking for a show car then it would need a re spray. But remember I'm not asking 12-14,000 either.
The 1600 motor was just tuned up. I have a new muffler that will be here weds .  New Nankang tires all around. Lots of new rubber trim ,including convertible top seals. The transmission shifts perfectly and is noise free.
Brakes are stock. Front brakes either need an adjustment of replaced.
Body and pan are original and rust free, yes even under the battery. No patches..
Paint was originally orange and now white. It looks like it was done many years ago. It is still shinny, but is not show quality. It has some chips from use.
Interior is stock. Seats are in nice original condition. The carpets are rip free and also quite presentable. The dash has two small cracks. A replacement cover is available for 40.00 online. Radio is not included.
The convertible top and glass are in very nice condition. No rips or tears. The headliner has come loose in a few spots. I'm sure an upholsterer can fix quite easily.
Tires have about 500 miles on them which are mounted on Empi gt-8.
Overall this is a super solid convertible.  This is a great driver/cruise night car.
REMEMBER RUST FREE BODY , CHANNELS AND PANS

I have a local shipper that I can recommend if needed.

Lamborghini and Bentley may hold off on SUVs so VW can conserve cash

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

After surveying the European economic scene, Volkswagen may have decided now is not the time to launch utility vehicles with Bentley and Lamborghini badges. Bentley officials say they will continue to push for support for the EXP 9 F and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman has said planning for the Urus will continue until VW tells it to stop.
That decision could come on November 23, when VW's board will vote on the company's budget for equipment, factories and vehicles. With VW's sales slowing and the Euro economy slumping further, some industry watchers say the company is more likely to build its cash reserves than to introduce super-expensive luxury SUVs or crossovers.
"Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis," says Frankfurt-based Equinet AG analyst Tim Schuldt in a new Automotive News Europe story. "Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs."

VW Up Buggy may be headed to showrooms

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

Volkswagen showed six conceptual takes on its Up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, one of those being the Up Buggy. Although few will probably remember it, VW has not forgotten it, applying for a patent for the Meyers Manx revival roadster way back in March 2012 and being approved in June of this year, according to a report in Autocar. That will give the automaker a 14-year lock on the design while it decides whether to move forward with a reboot of its past.
A patent doesn't mean the Up Buggy will ever move beyond the sheet-of-paper stage, but Autocar says VW is studying the market to see if a production version is feasible. We can't see North America ever getting it, but even so, we wouldn't complain if they made it - especially if they put an exposed engine in back that was set off by 18-inch-long twin tailpipes jutting straight up into the air. However, for a company that aims to be the world's number-one automaker by 2018, a niche vehicle for its mass-market brand would be a surprising use of resources.

New VW Beetle Convertible ad needs no disguise

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Convertibles make you do funny things. Ask someone if they'd drive a hardtop in near freezing temperatures with all the windows down and they might not even answer, thinking the question so ridiculous. Give that same person a convertible they love and you might just have to ask them to please put the top up even when snow is on the ground.
That guy has to take precautions to enjoy his proclivities, and as this new ad for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible shows, not everyone understands. Have a watch below, and note that there's just one woman in the minute-long spot, and she's nowhere near the car. Seriously, why didn't VW run this commercial during the Super Bowl?
