1971 VW Super Beetle body , Custom tube frame,1987 Chevy Corvette full independent suspension and drive train. New ZZ4 400hp 350 V-8 crate engine with modified TPI fuel Injection. 700r4 automatic transmission with 3500 rpm stall converter. The car was built by skilled custom car builder in California. This was the last of 4 built and drives out like it came from the factory to be this way. This car isn't a slapped together hot rod and has the feel and comfort of a luxury ride with the performance of a super car. This beauty is a highly thought out engineered treasure. The build features the Corvette anti-lock 4 wheel disc brakes, power windows, tilt telescopic steering column, Air conditioning, Custom leather interior with the Corvette digital dash and 6 way leather power seats . Powder coated 4 point roll bar. The car is refined drives smooth and is a show stopper every time you take it out. You can drive this in traffic on 100 deg. day with air conditioning on and it won't over heat. The Corvette radiator draws cool air in through a scoop under the front bumper and lets it exit through outlets in the top of hood and vents on sides of engine compartment. The car has over $40,000.00 and 400 man hours in the build. I hate to part with it but I haven't used it much last two years and want someone else to enjoy it. It has always been garage kept and pampered but is dependable enough to be a daily driver. I don't have the space to list all the features. If interested contact me to receive full build sheet. Call Jim between 9am -9pm est. or email me. 812-572-2504

Warning, don't consider buying this car unless you love attention, you will get looks everywhere you go. You will find crowds around it every time you leave it in a parking lot to eat out or shop. Has won a trophy in every show ever entered.

Happy 60th to the VW Karmann Ghia

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Volkswagen's product portfolio may be as extensive these days as any other carmaker in the business. But if you still think of the original Beetle as synonymous with the brand, that's probably because a) you're old and b) the Beetle was the company's only product until the mid-50s.
Sixty years ago Wilhelm Karmann (founder of the eponymous coachbuilder) was in Paris for the auto salon and met up with Luigi Segre and his team from Carrozzeria Ghia who showed him what was essentially a "Beetle in a sports coat." A month later they showed it to Volkswagen chief Heinrich Nordhoff who, setting aside his conservative tastes, approved it for production. And so the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was born, giving the German marque a second product line. It still used Beetle mechanicals and was built at the same Karmann factory in Onsabrück that was already assembling the Beetle Cabriolet.
It took another couple of years to put the design into production, but from 1955 to 1974, Volkswagen and Karmann built 362,601 coupes and 80,881 of the subsequent convertible that arrived in 1957. Today the Onsabrück factory is part of the VW Group, handling production of the Golf Cabriolet, XL1 and Porsche Boxster and Cayman, and with that original Karmann Ghia prototype as part of its factory collection.

Touring the Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg

Mon, 23 Sep 2013

Forgive the ribbon up top - this isn't so much of a Read This as a Look At This. Ran When Parked took a tour of the sprawling Volkswagen Museum in Wolfsburg, and while there's a spot of text about the different and unique vehicles on display in the rotating exhibits, it's largely the collection of pictures of odd, one-off VW-badged cars and vans that excites. If you're a fan of the weird and wild, this is a post you'll want to look at.
As RWP points out, this is the larger, but less busy, museum targeted purely at Volkswagen products. The smaller AutoStadt museum, meanwhile, covers a much broader swath, with products from other Volkswagen Group members. Volkswagen Passat gets Wolfsburg Edition, priced from $23,495*

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Volkswagen has just announced a new Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which slots between the base S and mid-grade SE trims in terms of content and price. The automaker has not released any official photos of the car as of this writing (aside from the badge shot you see here, of course), but the Wolfsburg Passat will be visually set apart from the rest by a unique set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The big host of upgrades for the Wolfsburg Edition are found inside, where buyers will enjoy standard amenities like leatherette seats (with bun-warmers on the front chairs), a power driver's seat, satellite radio and a media interface with iPod connectivity. Of course, this comes on top of the already standard Passat features like Bluetooth and auto on/off headlamps. The Wolfsburg Passat will only be available with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Look for the 2013 Wolfsburg Edition Passat to hit dealerships in the very near future, priced from $23,495, *not including $795 for destination. Have a look below for Volkswagen's official press blast.
