1969 TR6 ROADSTER
PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED BRG
This car is a beautifully restored 1969 TR6 with no accident history. Notice the distinctive look of the 1969-specific seats and the various tasteful upgrades, the Hawaiian Koa wood hand-made dashboard, the Moto Lita mahogany steering wheel, the dual exhaust system, and the Mini Lite wheels. This is a car that you will be proud to own! This car was restored over a period of several years in Florida by the car’s prior owner and it has been maintained over the current ownership (since early 2009) by Mackay’s Garage. The car is being auctioned on behalf of its owner, who is a friend of Mackay’s Garage. Please visit their website at www.mackaysgarage.com! And please take a look at a gallery
of over 100 photos of this car at: http://mackaysgarage.com/1969TR6/ And please see a video walk-around of this car at:
From a performance perspective, this car is thrilling! The inline 6 cylinder engine is very responsive and sounds terrific. A performance cam was installed and you will find yourself listening in anticipation for the growl that’s going to come out! And it does not disappoint! The transmission shifts fine through all the gears as a TR6 should, and the clutch action is right there where you expect it, it grabs well without any slipping. The transmission is an original OEM transmission, so keep in mind that it is going to be a bit notchy. The shift lever does tend to rattle if you let go of the knob up to 3rd gear, but is fine in 4th gear (when you’re driving on the highway). This is a common “feature” of the TR6, it does not affect performance or durability. The road handling is excellent; the choice of wheels and tires is great, the traction is very good and lets you go through twisty roads very confidently. The suspension is well tuned and rattle free! I’m very impressed with the body integrity of this car. There is no sensation of the body flexing under stressful road conditions, which is great, and expected of a car restored to this standard. The car’s exterior is stunning, very beautifully painted. It does have a few chips in corners here and there, and there is an occasional little scratch, which I have tried to faithfully document in the additional picture gallery. I think you will agree they is nothing of great importance. All the body panels fit well. The doors open and shut tight. The trunk and hood shut tight. Even on the highway with grooved pavement, or on bumpy roads with potholes, the car handles the road imperfections with great dignity without body rattling or shuddering. The interior is beautiful! A complete interior kit was installed and it shows very few signs of wear, perhaps there’s a little rub on the foot wells. That’s it! The dashboard was replaced at great expense with a hand-made dashboard made with Hawaiian Koa wood, which is absolutely beautiful and unique. And the Moto Lita steering wheel is made of mahogany; what a great luxurious feel! The radio is a very nice Kenwood unit with removable faceplate and 4 Infinity speakers. Very tastefully installed. There are no photographs of the restoration of the car, but from the documentation that came with the car, the physical evidence, the parts receipts, and the shop invoices, you can appreciate that this was a proper and comprehensive frame-off restoration. The restoration took place around 1999 and several upgrades and improvements have taken place since. The frame was media blasted down to bare metal and painted. Most body panels were replaced with new British-made body parts including the front fenders, hood, trunk, and door exterior shells. The interior is all new. The top is new. The windshield is new. The suspension is new. As you can appreciate from the pictures of the undercarriage, great care was taken of sorting out all details. The car comes with a good stack of receipts documenting parts purchased and work performed. A note about two items: the motor and the speedometer. The paperwork on this car indicates
that the motor in the car came from a 1971 donor. This is really of no
consequence as NO records were kept of what motors went with any given chassis.
But in the interest of full disclosure, I feel compelled to tell you that. The other item that should be noted is the speedometer. The current unit shows 4,777 miles, but the title shows a total mileage of 63,235. The previous owner (in NY State) had the speedometer replaced with a new or refurnished unit, and made the claim that the total mileage was 63,235 at the time of the sale. The expectation is that the car has traveled 4,777 miles since the restoration, approximately 2,000 of those by the current owner. My opinion is that registering the car in Massachusetts with 63,235 miles was a mistake; it should have been reported as an “Odometer Discrepancy”. All systems in this car are in perfect working order. This car has not seen rain since its restoration and has been lovingly cared for and maintained. Specifications and characteristics of this car:

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
