I bought this car in 2004 and started going through it.  It turned into a body off effort that took a couple of years (and there are still some tasks left to complete!).  The suspension and bushings were replaced and upgraded (poly bushings, modern rear shock kit).  The transmission was replaced with a Toyota Supra 5-speed for easy highway driving (Herman's kit for this familiar with the mod).  The engine was rebuilt (.10 over) with all new parts and now has about 3K miles on the rebuild.  I can't recall all the engine upgrades -- it does have a slightly hotter street cam from BPNW.  The carbs were rebuilt 18 months ago (original Z-S carbs but I have Paltech rebuilt SU I will sell separately if interested).  Dual exhaust, new tires, expensive Panasport wheels, new radiator, uprated alternator, lightweight starter mod, modern spin on oil adapter, new brake booster, uprated header, electronic MP3 radio, panels, carpet, dash pads new, Miata seats installed with correct seat track adapter (seats are tan leather but need to be recovered.  (I ordered new covers from Mr. Mike's about 2 months ago but no word yet on status of order so I will cancel at this point).  I have the original seats (recovered) that will go with the car if you don't want the Miata seats.  New wooded (original style) dash (gauges not refurbed but working -- speedo needs to be calibrated for Supra transmission).   I replaced the differential a few years ago with a "refreshed" unit.  Intention was to put in a Nissan unit later on, which would go well with the Toyota 5 - speed.  The convertible top is not new but very presentable for now.  Paint was new as of 2007.   Minor chip here and there but overall quite acceptable.  Bumpers original and show age/wear. Bottom line:  not a perfect car or a show car but a fairly well sorted driver at a fair price that can easily go to the next level in the hands of the right owner.  As is often the case, I have much more into the car than the asking price reflects.  Consider the cost of the engine rebuild, Toyota conversion kit, new interior, Panasports, carb rebuild, and other factors when comparing this car to some of the others.  Many spares that can go with the car if you're interested.  I have the original steel wheels and those go with the car too.  Includes car cover.

Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to send your questions to me.  I want to be totally transparent as to the condition of the car so there are no surprises -- just a happy new owner.
Also have an enclosed trailer this car fits in if you're interested -- available for $3K extra.  More photos available and I can take a video of her running if you'd like to hear the rumble the car generates.

I really would like to see the car go to a new home this week so bid with confidence as I may choose to lower the reserve to close the deal.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
