1995 Toyota Tacoma SX in excellent condition. This truck only has 110,500 original miles and was very well taken care of by the previous owner. There has been over 4000 dollars worth of maintenance done in recent years and the truck was garaged and babied by the previous owner. This truck drives amazing, it tracks straight and tight and drives like a new car. It has had lots of work done to it to maintain its excellent condition. There is a very complete service history with it. It does have a few minor cosmetic flaws such as a wear spot on the driver seat and some small dings and rock chip spots. I will list out the work done and the minor flaws. You can see a video of it running at http://youtu.be/SBxs1vFv6y4 The good: Low miles mostly commuting miles. Bought by the second owner with 40,000 miles and garaged and babied ever since. excellent service history with even minor gaskets and things done to keep the engine tuned and free from leaks New clutch with new clutch master cylinder New front struts and shocks New rear bumper New heavier duty leaf springs and shocks on the rear end New exhaust system Tires still have lots of tread but are older with minor dry cracks in between the treads , but they are Good tires Bed cover installed in 2006 Brakes have been done and front rotors turned Minor Flaws: Drivers seat has one wear area from jumping in and out body has one dent on the tale gate and various dings a few very small rust bubbles on the body paint center console lid is loose some scratches on the interior kick panels and glove box some buttons on the bed cover are popped Overall this is a really great truck and has the maintenance done to perform for a long time to come. EVO "2012 Car of the Year: The Track Battles" is a sports car salmagundi

Sun, 25 Nov 2012

EVO has come out with another gotta-watch-it video, throwing its 2012 Car of the Year contestants around the UK's 1.5-mile Blyton Park track. It's actually a 15-minute teaser for the full-length DVD detailing the magazine's Car of the Year selection, but the tease is worth every penny free second.
Tiff Needell and sports car racer Richard Meaden handle the wheel duties, the two driving five pairs of sports cars: Lotus Exige S vs. Porsche Boxster S, Morgan Three-Wheeler vs. Toyota GT86, BMW M135i vs. Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series vs. Alpina B3 GT3, the marquee event pits the McLaren MP4-12C vs. the Pagani Huayra. After a head-to-head lap with commentary during drifts, Meaden takes each car out to set a representative lap time.
You'll find the verdicts, lots of tire smoke, and lines like "Anything you can do sideways I can do sideways" in the video below.

Toyota GT86 turbo, convertible, sedan variants back on the table

Fri, 02 May 2014

Okay Toyota, make up your mind. Figure it out. Quit playing games with our heart. Either build a bunch of variations of the excellent GT86 (also known as the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ) or don't. At this point, we're just tired of the back and forth. After no shortage of denials, an Australian website is claiming that Toyota is reconsidering convertible, four-door, turbocharged and all-wheel-drive hybrid variants of the GT86. Kindly pass all the salt.
It's not that we don't want to believe the Aussies; we do. But when the story lists the same "sources in Japan" as a lot of the other denials and confirmations about GT86/BRZ/FR-S variants, well, there's a certain sense of the "Boy That Cried Wolf," here. Ignoring all that, then, what does Motoring.com.au claim to know?
Sources claim the GT86 Convertible will arrive in October 2014, while the turbocharged and hybrid sedans are slated for 2016.

Toyota to buck engine downsizing trend, may go larger and turbo-free

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

Turbocharging isn't really Toyota's specialty, and the Japanese automaker isn't being shy about acknowledging it. Koei Saga, a senior managing officer in charge of drivetrain research and development, says that eschewing turbos and increasing displacement of engines using the Atkinson cycle can produce better power gains without sacrificing fuel economy, Automotive News reports.
Toyota is investing heavily in larger-displacement Atkinson-cycle engines in addition to turbocharged engines, but Saga doesn't think the automaker will use turbocharging across many product lines. He apparently remains unconvinced that the technology "makes the world better."
In Toyota's eyes then, Atkinson cycle engines do make the world better, and here's how. Their pistons complete four processes - intake, compression, power and exhaust - in one revolution of the crankshaft, and the power stroke is longer than the compression stroke. Traditional Otto cycle engines require two crankshaft revolutions to accomplish those same four operations and have equal-length compression and power strokes. Atkinson cycle engines are more efficient, but less power dense, though increasing displacement can offset that shortfall.
