UP for auction is an Extremely nice, GARAGE KEPT 2003 Toyota Tacoma sr5 X-cab 4x4 with only 84,730 miles!!!!which is extremely low miles for this truck!!! If you know anything about these trucks, you know that these trucks will run forever if maintained correctly, and this one has been! I bought this truck in 2011 off a friend of mine that took meticulous care of it. I have only put 2,762 miles on it since I've owned it!!

This truck is 5 speed manual with cloth interior, and all manual windows, locks, and seats so you don't have to worry about any electronics breaking on you!!!! The truck is featured with A/C which is very cold, cruise control, tilt wheel, sliding rear window. All the interior is in excellent shape with no tears, wear or stains on any of the upholstery!! The truck came factory with factory CD player and cassette player. This truck is also non-smoker vehicle and has no foul odors or stains! NO CHECK ENGINE OR MAINTENANCE LIGHTS ON!

The body and frame of the truck is extremely clean and well maintained!! ZERO RUST!!! Frame was checked by local dealership by previous owner (my friend) when all the frame recall was going on and this truck was checked and cleared with no problems found and undercoated by the factory under this recall!! The paint on this truck is like new and shines flawlessly. The bed was rhino lined by a local shop specialized in rhino lining since new! it looks nice and wasn't just a cheap spray can job. The wheels on the truck is the only thing that isn't factory. I bought these wheels brand new and they haven't seen any bad weather conditions. The tires are also like new and they are Goodyear Wranglers. The wheels look good and make no changes to the truck other than the appearance.

This truck is not your typical off road, abused Toyota!! It is an adult owned and never been out in the mud or off road. It has been a pavement pounder its entire life and lived In the garage!! It would be hard to find a nicer one with this mileage and condition!! IT IS A MUST SEE AND IM POSITIVE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!

I do require a $500 deposit to my paypal account at time of purchase. I will NOT ACCEPT personal checks!! I DO NOT SHIP, SO YOU WILL HAVE TO ARRANGE FOR PICK-UP!

Australia may offer money to keep Toyota making cars there

Tue, 04 Jun 2013

In the wake of last month's announcement that Ford will cease automotive and engine production in Australia after 2016, many are wondering what the country's other automakers will do. Holden has already confirmed it will stay the course despite Ford's exit.
Much of the GM subsidiary's reason for sticking around has to do with a deal made last year between Holden and the Australian government. In order to secure a GM investment of $1 billion and a commitment to keep manufacturing in Australia through 2022, the government threw in an extra $215 million. According to Australia's Minister for Innovation and Industry, Greg Combet, the government is now in talks with Toyota for a similar deal.
Toyota operates one plant in Australia, the Altona manufacturing and engine plant in Victoria. The facility produces the Camry, Camry Hybrid and Australasia-only Aurion for both the local market and export. The report from GoAuto indicates that negotiations with the Australian government would include adding production of a third, all-new model at Altona, possibly the new RAV4, because it shares many parts with the Camry.

2013 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, Practice Day 3

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

The third practice day of the 91st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is done. While the other classes got running time on the middle and top sections of the course, qualifying times were set on the bottom section of the course for the Open, Open Wheel, Electric, Exhibition and Vintage classes.
Everyone managed to keep it on the black stuff today, Greg Tracy setting the fastest time ahead of Hiroshi Masuoka, both men driving the Mitsubishi MiEV Evolution II four-wheel-drive prototype. Not even half a second behind Masuoka came Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima in his Monster Sport E-Runner, who has taken about 18 seconds off his time since the first practice day. Rod Millen was the fourth fastest on the day in his Toyota TMG EV POO2.
Topping the Open Wheel class was Clint Vahsholtz, followed by Donner Billingsley, Andy Figueroa and Rodney O'Maley. The only driver in that class not to be given a time today was Dan Novembre. Kenshiro Gushi took the Exhibition class today as his Lexus IS F CCS-R made it up the mountain in 4:27.248, followed by Sage Marie in the Honda CR-Z at 5:19.591. Simon Pagenaud and his Honda Odyssey weren't classified.

Jonas wreaks havoc on auto industry

Mon, Jan 25 2016

Many folks along the East Coast are still stuck at home from Winter Storm Jonas' brutal snowfall over the weekend, but the blizzard had some nasty temporary effects on the auto industry, too. Winter weather emergencies kept people from leaving the house, and that spelled trouble for factories and dealers. The terrible conditions in Washington, DC, even prevented the the Washington Auto Show from opening. General Motors, Toyota, and BMW had to close factories due to the weather. BMW cited concerns for its workers driving to the plant for canceling some Friday and Saturday shifts in Spartanburg, SC, according to Automotive News. Toyota closed its Georgetown, KY, factory on Friday, and GM shut down the second shift at its Bowling Green, KY, site for that day, too. Showrooms in the blizzard's path saw a massive drop in sales over the weekend because the customers weren't coming. Some affected dealers are now trying to make the best of a bad situation by offering potential buyers even deeper discounts to get them through the door, according to Automotive News. The piles of snow also mean hours of work for employees to clean off all the cars on the lot. The good news is that none of these issues should pose longterm problems. Weather reports don't show much snow for the East Coast in the coming days, which should allow the industry quickly to return to normal.
