Up for auction is a really nice 2008 Toyota Sequoia SR5, completely loaded with gray leather, power sunroof, power rear window, power third row seats, 6 disc cd changer, JBL Sound, Rear DVD Entertainment Package with wireless headsets, power windows, power locks, bluetooth, cruise, digital dual climate control, 4WD. The Sequoia has the V8 5.7 liter powerhouse under the hood and we average around 18 mpg, better on trips. This Sequoia also has the tow package with a tow rating of 10,000 pounds. We just put new tires on it, with less than 2,000 miles on them. Oil and transmission fluids have just been changed, and we are able to provide records for previous maintenance done at Toyota dealership. Toyota just installed the Toyota bug shield on the front. We love the Sequoia, but my wife wants a minivan again because she thinks its easier for the kids to get in and out and she wants better gas mileage. Toyota reveals new TS040 Hybrid LMP1 [w/videos, poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014There's a new season of motor racing upon us, and while that doesn't always mean a new crop of cars in every series, in the case of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship, that's exactly what it means. Porsche recently revealed its new 919 Hybrid and Audi its revised R18 E-Tron Quattro. Now it's Toyota's turn.
Revealed today at the Paul Ricard test track in the South of France, the new TS040 Hybrid is based on the TS030 Hybrid it replaces, redesigned to meet the latest regulations established by the FIA and ACO for the World Endurance Championship and its flagship race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In accordance with said regulations, the TS040 is two inches narrower than the TS030 and also incorporates a new hybrid powertrain.
The previous 3.4-liter V8 has been replaced by a 3.7-liter V8 developing 513 horsepower, and the new engine is coupled to an Aisin AW electric motor at the front, a Denso electric motor at the rear and a Nisshinbo super-capacitor that combine to kick out an extra 473 hp, giving the system a combined output of nearly 1,000 horsepower while consuming 25 percent less fuel than last year's car. It also gives the TS040 all-wheel drive to help channel all that power to the road.
Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey
Mon, 30 Jun 2014Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.
Oh Buoy! Toyota sinks to Spongebob depths with custom Highlander
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The launch of the 2014 Toyota Highlander is being assisted by Bikini Bottom's number one resident, SpongeBob SquarePants. The new crossover has been wrapped with SpongeBob's square mug all over it as if he's saying "I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready," from every direction. Inside is a cabin that Toyota says "captures all of the beloved character's high-octane energy," but might make you question whether this is really the world you want to live in.
Revealed on SpongeBob Day at the San Diego Padres vs. San Francisco Giants baseball game in San Diego, CA on July 13, the Highlander will go from there to seven locations nationwide on a "Happy Driving Tour," ending at the LA Auto Show in November.
