Toyota Land Cruiser Troop Carrier "Troopy" * Diesel*

This auction is for an Extremely Rare Diesel, regular left hand drive Troop carrier. These trucks are rare, but even more so, you can't find a regular left hand drive Troopy anywhere. Most come from Australia where they are right hand drive, but this one is from South America.
Whats even better about this Troopy is that it has only 60,000 miles on the odometer( 102k kilometers) and is 95% rust free.
Anyone who knows Land Cruisers will know that a Troopy in this condition, left hand drive, and diesel, is almost impossible to find.
The engine is strong and fast enough to drive down the highway, yet gets good mpg because it's diesel. It doesn't blow black smoke except at initial morning start(normal for diesels)
This is a perfect daily driver, yet will turn heads because you just don't ever see these on the road.

This Troopy isn't stock color, but if someone wants this beautiful Troopy painted another color, let me know, and I can get that done for you included in the price of the winning bid.

Toyota ad says fuel cell cars are inevitable

Fri, Sep 19 2014

Toyota's confidence in H2 technology remains as strong as ever. The company has released a new commercial that says it's not a matter of if we all start driving hydrogen cars, but when. In fact, the 70-second spot calls 2015 the turning point for the alternative powertrain technology. Here's a bit of the voiceover for the animated spot, which to our eyes and ears comes off as more than a little defensive: There will be the naysayers. The handbrakes, who say that it can't be done. that it's unsafe. That there's no infrastructure to support it. Then there'll be the trailblazers. The first to put up their hand, and put down their foot. The bold few, driven to be remembered as those who made a difference. And perhaps, the ones that made all the difference. In the end, Toyota says, we're all going to be driving hydrogen cars, starting perhaps with the company's first H2 sedan which will go on sale next year. But, if the early comments on the video's YouTube page are any indication, then Toyota's might be a bit lonely driving down the hydrogen highway. Watch the ad below, then vote in our poll below and let us know what you think of Toyota's approach. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. 4th-gen Toyota Prius production delayed by 6 months

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

If you were holding off buying a new car in anticipation of the fourth-generation Toyota Prius arriving in 2015, your wait might be a little longer. Company insiders are claiming that production of the bestselling hybrid is being pushed back from spring to possibly as late as December 2015. Toyota is reportedly still making alterations to make sure everything is just right before it unleashes the all-important, efficient hatch on a waiting public.
According to unnamed sources speaking to Automotive News Europe, the main reasons for the delay aren't completely known. It's believed the engineers are still working on making the hybrid powertrain more efficient and improving the new Toyota Global Architecture modular platform. The insiders claim that the final production prototype of the Prius is still under development, and it might be November before it's finalized. From there, it usually takes around 12 months to tool up and for the first car to roll off the assembly line. It would be another year after that before the plug-in variant starts assembly. The national manager of Toyota Product Communications, Michael Kroll, told AutoblogGreen, "As you might expect, we can't comment on future product plans."
Despite the delay, some potential details have already emerged about the new hybrid. A company spokesperson recently told Autoblog via email that Toyota is engineering the next-gen Prius to have smaller, more power-dense electric motors and greater thermal efficiency. The new modular platform is also rumored reduce weight, and the changes could lead to a targeted 10 percent improvement in fuel economy.

Toyota teaches weather reporters not to get their forecasts wrong

Fri, Mar 13 2015

In some ways, being a weather forecaster on television is one of the easiest jobs on the world. In few other professions can you get your duty utterly wrong for the day and for that to be completely acceptable. Toyota is taking TV meteorologists to task in a new ad in Europe for the Aygo X-Wave with its sliding canvas top. The gimmick here is that the forecasters have to drive an Aygo for a month with a top that's synced to their predictions. For example, if they report sunny weather, then the top opens automatically regardless of whether rain is pouring down. Even if the results are staged, it still provides for a great dose of humor to market the hatchback's massive opening roof.
