1997 Toyota Landcruiser Clean Collectors Edition 180k Miles on 2040-cars
Blacklick, Ohio, United States
Selling my 1997 Toyota Landcruiser Collectors Edition. NO mechanical defects, engine runs Great. Condition of the truck is SUPER CLEAN. Inside and Out. This is my 4th Cruiser. I see alot of them for sale and sellers claim they are clean and well maintained, then I look at the photos and see otherwise. This truck is all original, NO stains, NO seat rips, No dirty carpet. The woodgrain looks new. Exterior is just as nice, No door dings, paint is EXCELLENT. One owner most of its life. Has NEW Michelin tires, New brakes, always maintained. Recent service, and complete detail. I could go on and on. The wheels had some pitting so I had them sanded and painted with automotive paint, they look good. Power antenna for radio doesn't retract, haven't had time to mess with it. The driver visor hangs down a bit so I pinned it up. Both very minor issues. Drivers seat has some wear, nothing like most of the other Cruisers I've seen. Included in the price is an almost new Garmin Navigation. Feel free to ask questions. I have a friend that owns a transport company, so I can help set up shipping anywhere in the U.S. I don't mean pay for it, but I can get a good quote. This truck will drive anywhere if you want to pick it up. Doesn't get driven much so mileage will stay about the same. Please No low ball bidding, don't need the money, just a new home for the truck. Does not have Diff Locks. It does not burn oil nor does it leak any fluids. |

Toyota/Mazda factory will reportedly be in Alabama or North Carolina
Tue, Nov 14 2017The Toyota/Mazda factory sweepstakes appear to be nearing a conclusion as Bloomberg and Automotive News are reporting the location has been narrowed down to either North Carolina or Alabama. The joint venture plant worth $1.6 billion would add 4,000 jobs to whichever state lands it. To even be considered, Toyota and Mazda have reportedly sought a $1 billion incentive package from interested states in the form of tax breaks and other support. At least 15 states had apparently been jockeying for the factory, including Mississippi, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Texas and South Carolina. Toyota presently has an engine factory near Huntsville, Ala. The state is also currently home to Honda, Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz assembly plants. North Carolina currently does not have a car manufacturing plant. This would also represent Mazda's return to American manufacturing, as its present lineup of cars and crossovers is produced in Japan. The company had previously built cars in the United States along with its former partner Ford. Related Video:
Toyota, Lexus to build more CUVs to meet surging demand
Sun, Jan 18 2015What was the biggest takeaway from the auto industry's 2014? Besides the fact that recalls are now a sad and mostly unremarkable part of a vehicle's life, it's that you can't be a competitive, mainstream brand in the US without a really strong line of crossovers, SUVs or pickups. We saw evidence of this as recently as Monday, when Hyundai unveiled its HCD-15 Santa Cruz Concept, and now we're seeing it again with Toyota. The company already has a comprehensive lineup of both mainstream and luxury CUVs and SUVs, although surging demand – sales were up 16 percent last year, Bloomberg reports – has led the company to increase its production tempo at the plants responsible for the RAV4 and Lexus RX. "The freeze is still in place until the end of March of 2016," Toyota's Jim Lentz told Bloomberg during this week's Detroit Auto Show, referencing the production bump at the Japanese and Canadian factories responsible for the models. "That hasn't changed. All indications are that it will lift, but right now it has not lifted." The increased sales are even spurring the brand to consider additional CUVs, including a compact that would slot in below the RAV4, Lentz told the business publication. Such a move would give Toyota a player in an increasingly competitive and important segment. In 2014 alone, mainstream brands, including Honda, Mazda, Chevrolet and Jeep, have announced brand new products destined for the compact CUV market. "We're going to have to look at how the market under RAV4 develops," Lentz told Bloomberg. "There's no question that it's going to. That's going to be the next growth spurt." Related Video:
Mazda ad showing Facebook updates while driving criticized by Senate committee [w/video]
Sat, 08 Feb 2014Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, held an all-day summit on Thursday to discuss the dangers of using modern technology while driving, during which an ad that Mazda aired during the Super Bowl was used as an example of the worrisome future towards which we're headed. While seemingly innocuous at first glance, the ad, which can be seen below, shows a brief glimpse of a driver using the Mazda Connect infotainment system in a Mazda3 to check/update his Facebook page while driving down the road.
Officials from major communications companies like Samsung, Google and Apple attended the summit, as well as representatives from automakers including General Motors and Toyota. A representative from Mazda was not present despite the company's own currently available technology being used as the poster child for the issues being discussed.
According to Automotive News, Senator Rockefeller warned the automaker and communication execs on hand that he will propose legislation to regulate the use of technology while driving if they don't work together to implement their own standards more quickly. Michael Robinson, GM's vice president of sustainability and global regulatory affairs, argued that his company has had distracted driving guidelines in place for 15 years since the advent of its OnStar system, noting that the technology in question has also helped the automaker save lives through automatic crash detection and calls to 911.
