1984 Toyota Landcruiser 4wd on 2040-cars
Albany, Georgia, United States
This LandCruiser is in great shape. Bought it a couple of years ago and made a few upgrades to it. I would say it was vertually rust free. The exhaust had a few issues when I bought it and that has been corrected. We removed the Aisin carburetor and added a two barrel Weber. This eliminate the manual choke and is now using an electric choke. It runs great. I tinted the windows, added a console, added a nice stereo with bluetooth.Keyless entry and alarm have been added as well. Tires are almost new. The interior in my mind is a 7 on a scale of 1-10 (pictures notate . The cargo area could use a little work, but not much. The exterior paint is in decent shape it has a few areas that are oxidized and could use some attention. I have tried to get clear pictures to notate any issues. I own a car lot, but this is my personal vehicle so feel free to email with questions. Mark |

Toyota struggling in Latin American market, attempting recovery
Fri, 30 Aug 2013With uncertainty in the US and Chinese markets, automakers are scrambling to rev up their efforts in what were traditionally secondary markets. Take Toyota's efforts in Latin America. A recent story from The Wall Street Journal highlights the Japanese brand's push in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Brazil, where it has expanded its operations and installed new executives with a greater range of powers, all in a bid to grab a bigger slice of the ever-growing South American pie.
South America is dominated by General Motors, Fiat and Volkswagen, which maintain a combined 60 percent of the market share - Toyota holds a mere 4.5 percent. The WSJ spoke with Steve St. Angelo, Toyota's boss in Latin America, who said, "We are playing catch up, but we're catching up fast. We now have the resources to give the region the attention it really needs and deserves."
That attention includes an all-new, locally produced small car called the Etios. As bewildering as it seems, Toyota wasn't competing in the low-cost economy car market in South America. With the Etios, which arrived in September of 2012, its sales in the first seven months of 2013 are up 75 percent.
2015 Toyota Sienna
Thu, 25 Sep 2014It's hard to love a minivan, but it's very, very easy to use one. More than any other kind of vehicle - save a panel van, perhaps - the minivan is the most appliance-like of four-wheeled transportation devices. And most minivan buyers don't need to love their purchases; they just need to use them. So when it comes to a minivan's driving dynamics, who cares?
Well, we do. So we perked right up when Toyota talked about refinements it made to the 2015 Sienna, starting with some 142 added spot welds made to the body structure. Normally not stop-the-presses stuff, but Toyota says the added reinforcements prompted Sienna engineers to recalibrate the springs and shocks for improved handling, and our very limited wheel time along the (admittedly benign) roads on the Big Island of Hawaii revealed the 2015 Sienna SE model's handling to be tidier and more engaging than you'd expect for a porky, 4,560-pound, eight-passenger box on wheels.

Tue, 30 Jul 2013Raising A White Flag To The Competition
We all benefit from highly competitive battles. In the automotive sector, few campaigns are so closely fought as the decades-long struggle for supremacy in the fullsize half-ton pickup truck segment. The Ford F-150 has dominated for ages, but Chevrolet, Ram and GMC have been closing the gap with freshly redesigned trucks that are rocking the industry.
Today's half-ton trucks are better than they've ever been, and we have fierce competition to thank for that.
