This is a 1979 FJ40 in Sky Blue with white accents. Comes with hard top, solid doors, and rear ambulance doors.
-After purchasing the vehicle, I had the rear sill, rear interior fenders and back floor replaced with toyota ribbed metal. - We did a 350 conversion for more power. Vehicle will cruise at 70 down the highway or faster, depending on how much you like to be blown around here in North Texas wind country. 4x4 works great and if you put her in low and drop her into first she will crawl until out of gas. -Vehicle has power steering and brakes. -New clutch components including clutch master cylinder. -New aluminum radiator. Vehicle is cooled by an electric fan, switch located on dash. -New front seats and original jump seats in good condition -Stereo installed with 6x9's in the rear next to the jump seats. -locking center console (Pad Lock) -New original type roll cage painted matte black -powder coated hood hold downs and windshield hold downs -restored fuel tank and fuel lines -new brakes This is a great FJ40. She will go ANYWHERE!!! It has been a fun to drive and gets compliments and attracts attention wherever I take her. All the lights work, turn signals and wipers. Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort
Fri, 24 May 2013Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.
Toyota restructuring US operations, possibly moving to Texas
Sun, 27 Apr 2014According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, Toyota is poised to announce Monday that it is restructuring its US operations, which may include plans to relocate some of its operations to Texas. Toyota Motor Sales has been located in California since 1957, and is responsible for North American sales, marketing, and distribution for Toyota, Lexus and Scion. According to Toyota literature, its Torrance operations presently employs 6,156 workers and represents a $2.3-billion investment.
Workers in Toyota's Torrance offices were abuzz about the possible relocation to Texas. One young offspring of a Toyota employee even posted to Twitter that her parents warned about the upcoming move, and she said she's refusing to go.
Rumors at one point had Toyota settling in Richardson, TX, just outside Plano. But Autoblog talked to Richardson Mayor Laura Maczka, who said she would be thrilled if that were true, but has not heard anything on the subject. Autoblog also emailed with Bill Sutherland, a city councilman in Torrance, CA, who said, "To date the only info I have is what I have read in the paper expecting a press release Monday."
