You are bidding on a 1976 FJ40 landcruiser this is an Original 2 owner vehicle the gentlemen I bought it from has owned it since 1978 and title shows such it even has the original set of TEQ Toyota keys and original front floor mat(He hadn't drove it since 2008 when he parked it). If you are looking for a great restorable landcruiser this is it, not modified and missing pieces like many you see that is what drives your restoration costs up chasing down all the odds and ends with that being said let me move onto the details on this landcruiser. Has the front disc brakes, original engine(non modified) runs great fires right up every time I have had this parked in my shop and hasn't leaked a drop of oil from the engine nor xmsn/transfer case area. Like I mentioned all the pieces seem to be there has some rust in rear sill quarter panel area (see photos) there are a few smaller areas as well in the tub this is usual FJ40 rust prone areas, with that being said the front floor pans appear to be in great shape with only a light surface rust Has original set of 5 rims, rear jump seats, original console etc.. All electrical items appear to function correctly. This Landcruiser has 142,000 original miles he only drove this on back country roads its entire life. Toyota Harrier gets a whale of a facelift [w/video]
Thu, 21 Nov 2013Historically, the Toyota Harrier has been a doppelgänger for North America's Lexus RX - at some points, it was little more than a badge-swap and a few options away, at least aesthetically. That appears to be changing with this just-revealed new generation at the Tokyo Motor Show.
That's because this two-row, five-seat Toyota is in possession of a bold new look, dominated by a jutting, baleen-like grille edged in chrome, along with new headlamps and fascia. The greenhouse has likewise been revamped and gotten more pointed at the rump, which has new taillights, a resurfaced tailgate and a faux rear diffuser. Were it to be ported over to North American Lexus dealers intact, the Harrier's look would be jarring in light of the brand's spindle-grille-based design language, so we suspect that if the RX gets any of these updates (it was just refreshed for 2013), it will strike out on a different path visually.
Unlike the US RX, the new Harrier will rely on smaller-displacement four-cylinder engines, namely a 2.0-liter paired with a continuously variable transmission or a 2.5-liter four backed up by an electric motor. We'd like to see a smaller-displacement option for the US RX (it presently runs with 3.5-liter V6 engines in both gas-only and hybrid guise), but suspect it won't arrive until the next all-new model.
Toyota reveals Tokyo Motor Show concepts
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Toyota is getting ready for the Tokyo Motor Show later this month, and to tease us, the Japanese automaker has released photos and information about the concept vehicles it'll be bringing to the show. In all, there'll be five world premieres from Toyota (six if you split the Voxy and Noah minivan concepts), including some vehicles that'll be released in the near future, and others that need more time to incubate.
Let's get the world premieres out first. Toyota is a pioneer of gasoline-electric hybrids, but it's also pursuing hydrogen fuel cell-powered vehicles. The clearest indication of this is the FCV concept, a hydrogen-powered sedan in the same vein as the the FCV-R that will bow at the auto show. (Read more about the FCV, here.)
Other world debuts include the FV2 concept (pictured), a unique, one-seat future vehicle that emphasizes the "Fun to Drive" philosophy; the JPN TAXI concept, a next-generation taxi concept designed with Japanese hospitality in mind; and the Voxy and Noah concepts, next-generation minivans that differ most in exterior design cues and are scheduled to launch in the Japanese market in early 2014.
