I have had this car just over 3 years and have enjoyed every moment with it. I am now married, my life has changed, and its time for me to let her go. True GTS with factory diff.

This is a pretty solid car that does need some work but still runs and drivers fantastically. STRONG 16V motor rebuilt about 30k miles ago.

The bad:

the body. I had the car painted 2 years ago and i would say its a 5 out of 10. Shortly after I had it painted the car got pelted by hail and it is still visible in parts of the roof where the PDR guy could not get the dents out. It is also visible on the pillars. The roof had some touch up work by Carnica and you can definetely see a blend line. There are dents and scratches around the car as well as the formation of some rust. Again it is not a show car and it is 29 years old.

The speedometer is not working. i swapped out the speedo cable to no avail so I am not sure what the issue is. Tach and other guages work fine.

trunk key is different from ignition and door key
passenger side door lock works fine but looks like someone tried to pry out the lock previously (before my ownership) so it looks a bit ugly

I get some water seepage with heavy rain in the rear window. I honestly have just not felt like tearing that all apart for the few times I do see some moisture.

Kouki front bumper that is zip tied on. I was NOT crazy about the correct brackets to fit this bumper. The STOCK full length from bumper is installed with kouki bumper ziptied over but it does not fit all that well. I will include the JDM brackets if you would like to swap them out.

No radio antenna but I really never listen to the radio

dash has a crack in the center

The ugly:

NO INTERIOR. no carpet, rear seat, roof liner, etc. Stock passenger seat with corbeu belts and no name seat for driver (NOT adjustable) with g force 5 point belts.

The ring and pinion are getting pretty noisy. Its time for service on the ring and pinion which is honestly one of the reasons I am looking to sell the car. I feel like as little as I am driving the car I might just let the next person deal with the issue and sell the car cheaper.

Oil pan gasket is starting to leak BUT nothing significant (no puddles etc just a wet pan)

Please do not ask what the reserve is just bid what you think the car is worth.

I have a set of spare valve cover gaskets, master cylinder rebuild kit, pop up headlight (both are working now) and caliper rebuild kit, speedo cable, and whatever else I can find that I will include with the car.

Toyota says fuel cells could cost no more than diesels soon

Toyota wants to bring the cost of hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles down to something along the lines of a diesel vehicle's price tag. It just might take until the alliterative year of 2022 to hit that target. Such is the challenge of modern engineering. Fuel-cell vehicle costs may eventually approach diesel vehicle costs because of the relatively expensive process of both making a diesel engine and including it with particulate filters and other treatments required to reduce the soot once associated with such engines, Automotive News says, citing comments from Toyota executive Katsuhiko Hirose. And, while engineers initially estimated that fuel cells and diesels would reach price parity in about 15 years, Hirose said Toyota higher ups weren't satisfied with that answer and think the timeframe could be cut in half. The Japanese automaker in January said it would ramp up the manufacturing rate of its first production fuel-cell vehicle, the Mirai, to about 700 units this year and to 2,000 vehicles for 2016. Later this year, Toyota will start selling the Mirai in the US for either $57,500 as a purchase or $499-a-month lease, and both options come with free hydrogen. Who can say that about diesel fuel? Toyota recalling 342k Tacomas due to faulty seatbelt pretensioners

Toyota is voluntarily recalling 342,000 Tacoma Access Cab pickups, produced between 2004 and 2011. The wide-ranging recall is due to faults in the screws that attach the belt pre-tensioner to the belt retractor. There are concerns that the screws can loosen themselves over time, especially if the access door is opened and closed with too much force. It's important to note that the recall only covers the driver and front passenger seat, and is limited to just the Access Cab trucks. Other body styles aren't affected.
If the screws come loose, the pre-tensioner and retractor spring could separate from the belt entirely, which would be bad news in a crash. There's no mention of injuries or accidents due to the faulty pre-tensioners. Owners affected by the recall will be notified soon, and asked to come in for recall service.

Toyota confirmed plans this week to launch autonomous technology in its production cars around 2020. The automaker's version is called Highway Teammate, and it's one element of a broader mobility strategy that includes vehicles communicating with each other and the grid. "Toyota believes that interactions between drivers and cars should mirror those between close friends who share a common purpose, sometimes watching over each other and sometimes helping each other out," the company said in a statement. That sounds utopian, and perhaps a bit cheesy, but it's an acknowledgment that autonomous driving requires more than technology developed in a vacuum. Toyota is looking at its research in a broader context, and dubs its overall strategy the Mobility Teammate Concept. Highway Teammate is the first step. Its test vehicle is a modified Lexus GS, which uses road-mapping data and external sensors to merge or exit highways, change lanes, and maintain safe distances during driving. It's operated on the Shuto Expressway in Tokyo. Toyota has been working on autonomous tech since the 1990s, with the goal of providing mobility for older people and the disabled, as well as lowering the frequency of traffic accidents. Toyota's push comes as an early adopter, Nissan, is hedging on its own deadline to implement the autonomous tech by 2020 due to a lack of firm laws governing self-driving cars around the world. Conversely, Volvo took the landmark step of being the first automaker to accept liability for when its cars will operate in autonomous mode, and urged the US government to set federal guidelines to regulate the technology. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 BMW M4 GTS: Your water-injected, turbo-boosted demon BMW is unleashing its most powerful M4 ever, a 493-horsepower special edition that's road legal yet bred for the track. The company is making 700 copies for sale around the world, and 300 of them will come to the United States. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder revs to 7,600 rpm and uses a water-injection technology to cool the intake air and lower the compression temperature. BMW says this allows it to wring more power out of the inline six. The car also uses carbon-fiber reinforced plastic for the roof, hood, engine compartment strut brace, drive shaft, and rear spoiler to reduce weight. The M4 features BMW's organic light-emitting diode taillights, which are said to be an industry first.
