1980 Toyota Celica Supra Hatchback 2-door 2.6l Mk1 All Original Low Miles! on 2040-cars
|
This is the very rare 1980 Toyota Celica Supra MK1. This car is a major head turner! There are not very many left in this good of shape, and next to non with this low of miles (96,***) It is all original (except for the CD player of course). Original paint job is still very nice! Everything works including heat and AC. Very fun car to drive, V6 with rwd and over drive- this car wants to go! The Supra Mk1 was way ahead of its time, it is fuel injected and even has power windows.
Interior is in pretty good shape, the driver and passenger seats have tears and should be reupholstered at some point. I currently have seat covers on them. Body is in amazing shape for a 34 year old car! The only spot of rust I could find was about the size of a quarter (see pictures of the hood) Car runs and drives good. I always warm it up for at least 10 minutes before driving it, I recommend that you do the same for optimal performance (as you should with any car this old!) The brakes were replaced pretty recently. I have owned this car for about 3 years, driven it very modularly (only summers, and weekends) and always kept it in a heated Garage. I've always changed the oil every couple of months. This car has been very well taken care of, and will take good care of you weather you keep it all original or modify it. It is a very nice car, especially for the age, but keep in mind that it is 34 years old, and by no means perfect, so please ask any and all questions before bidding or making an offer. I described it to the best of my ability, but I definitely encourage getting an independent car inspection before purchasing. all sales are final. |

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata battles Toyota GT86 on track
Mon, Oct 5 2015It's got two doors and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine up front, driving the rear wheels. It's made in Japan, and as far as bang-for-your-buck goes, it's a downright bargain. So which are we talking about, the Mazda MX-5 Miata, or the Toyobaru coupe known alternately as the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, or Toyota GT-86? The answer is "yes," and it just goes to show, roofs notwithstanding, how close these two vehicles really are to one another. Which one is your favorite may come down to a matter of personal taste, but for its latest video, Auto Express set out to find out which laps faster around the track. On paper at least, the Toyota's 200 horsepower will trump the Mazda's 155 any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Then again, the Miata does weigh a good 400 pounds less, even with the 2.0-liter engine and despite its convertible bodystyle – but is that enough to make up the difference? You're going to have to just watch the video for yourself to find out. All we'll tell you is that the match is pretty darn close – what you might call a photo finish, if they were actually racing each other at the same time as opposed to each racing the clock separately. So watch the video above and voice your support for your favorite little Japanese sports car in the Comments section. Related Video:
Suzuki and Daihatsu join Toyota electric vehicle venture
Wed, Jul 21 2021TOKYO — Suzuki Motor Corp and Daihatsu are joining a commercial electric vehicle coalition led by Toyota Motor Corp, the carmakers announced on Wednesday, helping the Japanese alliance expand its focus from trucks to smaller cars. The two automakers will each acquire a 10% stake in the joint venture, on par with Isuzu Motors and Hino Motors, while Toyota will hold a 60% stake, they said. "With Suzuki and Daihatsu joining the project and working together, we'll be able to expand our circle of cooperation to not only cover commercial vehicles but also mini vehicles," said Toyota President Akio Toyoda. "With this expansion, I believe that we'll be able to take one step closer to a better mobility society," Toyoda said. The move comes as Japanese automakers face growing competition from tech giants and other rivals making electric and driverless cars. Toyota, Isuzu and Hino launched the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies Corporation in April to bolster their competitive edge in connected, commercial vehicles. Daihatsu's president Soichiro Okudaira said joining the pact and introducing connected, mini-commercial vehicles would allow data sharing, a major benefit for companies to provide better services to customers and improve logistics efficiency. Couple survives 50-foot fall from overpass in Toyota
Tue, 11 Feb 2014It doesn't matter the make or model - modern vehicles are technological miracles when it comes to occupant protection. Take this story out of New York City, which involved two people going for a very wild ride in a Toyota Matrix.
Carlos and Raquel Broadbelt were on the Cross Bronx Expressway overpass when they hit a patch of ice while dodging a pothole, sending them hurtling into a guardrail and over the side of the overpass. They fell 50 feet onto the road below. Despite the catastrophic accident - and the mangled Toyota - both driver and passenger walked away. The couple spent a night in the hospital just for observation.
The Broadbelts' miraculous survival has even surprised doctors, who told Dave Carlin from CBS New York they'd never seen an accident like it. Take a look below for the full news report from CBS New York.
