1999 Cadillac Seville SLS Here is a 1999 Cadillac Seville SLS, 4 door luxury sedan. Color is grey with grey leather interior. The exterior and interior are both absolute excellent overall. It has been kept stock and clean. It is fully loaded and has all the upgrades + options possible for model and year. It is owned by an older couple (only owners) who drove it around town but mostly kept it in the garage all the time. It only has 35k miles. Everything is like brand new… Interior is absolute excellent condition… has Ice cold A/C, everything works mechanically, etc.. The elder man passed recently and his wife is much older to drive. I am helping the family sell the car and noticed it was getting a little hot in temp so I towed to a family friends auto repair shop in Pasadena, CA. After running a block test, it seems there is a head gasket issue. I have ALL the paperwork on the car from work they got done, oil changes, all records, etc.. including the original sticker for $44k and all manuals. They actually did keep up with maintenance when they utilized the car. The engine is a Northstar, 32 valve, 4.6L V8 with automatic transmission. 14 years and only 35k miles. Options for new buyer: head gasket to be repaired, maybe rebuild, or put in a rebuilt motor. The car could even be parted out for even more value but there is plenty of life left on the car and plenty of use with all existing parts of current motor if deciding to put in another or rebuild. The family would like to see the car be put to good use as it was their parent’s last car and their elderly mother can no longer drive. Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealant has been added and the car does not overheat. Car Location: Long Beach, CA Please call for more info. 562-544-9857 |

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
Suzuki Kizashi recalled due to pesky spiders
Wed, 27 Aug 2014Spiders seem to love the fuel tanks of Japanese sedans. Mazda had to recall its Mazda6 twice for arachnid webs blocking their car's vent lines. Now, the Suzuki Kizashi is also being called in because spiders can block the car's evaporative canister vent hose, a condition which could cause excessive negative pressure in the tank, eventually leading to a crack and fuel leak. The campaign covers about 19,249 examples of the 2010-2013 model year Kizashi built from October 2009 through July 2012.
According to the automaker's defect notice released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the first report of a spiderweb blocking a vent line was in 2011. It began monitoring field data and found six more incidents from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, there was one more case, and with further investigation, Suzuki decided to initiate a recall. There are no reports of accidents or injuries of the webs causing accidents or injuries in the US.
In a similar move to Mazda, Suzuki is replacing the evaporative canister vent line with one that has a filter in place to keep the spiders out. Also, if the lines are obstructed by webs in a specific vehicle, the fuel tank will also get swapped. Scroll down to read the full recall announcement from NHTSA.
Suzuki previews new S-Cross compact CUV ahead of Paris debut
Fri, 10 Aug 2012Despite having one heck of a lackluster presence here in the United States, Suzuki still manages to do well in other markets. That in mind, the automaker continually releases new products and concept cars at international auto shows that aren't destined for U.S. consumption, but this might not be one of those times.
The aging SX4 crossover is in need of replacement, and if Suzuki is still committed to selling passenger cars in the States, something fresh like this S-Cross concept could be just the ticket. Suzuki has, after all, confirmed that the S-Cross will eventually make its way into production.
We have no other details to divulge about the S-Cross, except that it's a small crossover concept and that it will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in September. Suzuki says that the S-Cross has a "Emotion x Quality x Aerodynamics" design theme that uses "distinctive dynamic lines that start on the front bumper, sweep across the doors, and continue to the rear of the body." No offense, Suzuki, but we've heard that before.
