Nissan Patrol(rare) 1983 4wd 4 Speed on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
I am selling my 1983(not 1980 ebay vin look up) NISSAN PATROL (SAMURAI) COLOMBIA VERSION. This is a very unique opportunity to own a very rare(to US shores)Nissan. This Patrol was imported from Japan to Colombia. The last Patrols to enter the US was back in the sixties. This patrol was purchased from the original family that bought NEW back in 1983. It was the family vehicle and cared for pretty well considering the years and condition of the vehicle. The vehicle has the original light yellow paint with a white aftermarket Hardtop that is removable. The paint is in decent shape having a few scratches/chips and a couple of dings through out the body but in overall good condition. The interior is the original tan seats and in good condition. This PATROL is equipped with nice cold A/C, a newer style Pioneer radio. It does have manual windows and manual door locks. The Patrol is equipped with 4WD that works flawlessly. The motor is truly amazing(hard to tell if its even on)runs perfect and starts every time. . It drives straight with no wondering and can be driven daily with no hesitation. This Patrol has some very nice steel wheels wrapped in 31 inch BRIDGESTONES. There are no leaks of any sorts and can be driven to the end of the world. Whether your looking for a special unique vehicle to be different on or off the road this just might be the one. If you have any please don't hesitate to call me at 3053020798. My Nissan has a clear Florida title. Good luck! |

Junkyard Gem: 2008 Suzuki XL-7
Sun, Jan 21 2024The American Suzuki Motor Corporation filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and sold its final Kizashis, SX4s and Grand Vitaras here the following year. In the decade prior to that, a big chunk of the Suzuki lineup involved rebadged Daewoos, but South Korea wasn't the only outpost of the far-flung GM Empire helping out with Suzuki hardware. After the Saturn Vue debuted as a 2002 model, its platform ended up everywhere, including beneath the second-generation Suzuki XL-7. Here's one of those machines, found in a Denver self-service car graveyard recently. Prior to 2007, the XL-7 name had been applied to a stretched version of the body-on-frame Grand Vitara, a pure Suzuki design. The 2007-2009 XL-7 looked quite different from its closest relatives, the Saturn Vue, Pontiac Torrent and Chevrolet Equinox. Assembly took place at CAMI Assembly in Ontiario, birthplace of many a Geo Metro and Suzuki Swift. The engine is the 3.6-liter version of the 60° High Feature V6, rated at 252 horsepower and 243 pound-feet. A five-speed automatic was the only transmission available. This one is a base model with front-wheel-drive and seating for five. Its MSRP was $21,599, or about $34,419 in 2024 dollars. The radio has an AUX input, a fairly unusual feature in 2008. Inside, one of the most heartbreaking notes I've ever found in a junkyard car. Does the Tooth Fairy give money to kids who knock out the teeth of other kids and steal them? It's like a Suzuki motorcycle, but with more cargo capacity. Those Suzuki-riding bikers know a good SUV when they see one. Who knew that it wouldn't be long before motorcycles and ATVs would be the only new Suzukis available here?

Meet the Jeep Wrangler's tiny Japanese doppelganger, the Suzuki Jimny
Wed, Aug 23 2017We're all eagerly anticipating the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, but it's not the only two-door, body-on-frame off-roader coming out in the near future. Suzuki has its own on the way by the name of Jimny (no, that's not a typo). Long ago, we received the Jimny here in the United States as the eminently capable, though tipsy, Samurai. The Samurai was followed here by the more civilized Sidekick/Tracker, which eventually took on its original name of Vitara. But overseas, the rugged, truck-like Samurai survived as the Jimny. This newest version looks to retain much of its predecessors' capability. In addition to the body-on-frame chassis, it features a solid rear axle. Odds are that it will continue to offer a part-time four-wheel-drive system with a low-range, as with the current one. We can't quite tell if it will still have a solid front axle, though. Styling-wise, the new Jimny does seem to have tougher, chunkier looks than the current one, pictured above. The corners have been squared up, and hard creases added to the flanks. The wheel wells are now more square and look to have bigger flares. We're also noticing some retro touches such as the roof that isn't flush with the rest of the body. The taillights mounted in the rear bumper are also reminiscent of the old Samurai. As nifty as the little Jimny is, we can safely say that we won't be getting it here — Suzuki doesn't sell cars here anymore. But even if Suzuki were still operating in the U.S., we probably wouldn't get the Jimny. It would probably be too crude for most buyers, and it could be tricky to get it to pass safety regulations. Its tall, narrow shape also could be rollover prone, and Suzuki wouldn't want to go through another rollover controversy. But hey, in roughly 25 years, you can import one of these if you really want.
