Up forsale is my 2004 subaru wrx sti. I purchased the car with a engine issue, after diagnosis we found it had 2 cylinders low on compression. So i replaced the motor with a used one with only 51,000 miles. engine has new timing belt, new iridium spark plugs,all new fluids and is ready to go! The car has a cold air intake and a hks cat back exhaust. The stock blow off valve is on the car but it will also come with a hks blow off valve, the car also has adjustable coil over suspension. the interior of the car is in great shape with no rips, tears, or stains!! tranny shifts great and engine runs perfectly! The exterior has a couple minor flaws such as a small paint crack in the front bumper and a small dent in the hood. "both pictured" Tires are around half tread and the brembo brakes stop on a dime. The only other issue with the car is someone painted the front BREMBO calipers black!! you can see in the picture. The car has 86k miles while the motor has 51 k miles. The car is a ton of fun to drive and is such a practical car being all wheel drive and having 4 doors. Subaru readying special-edition BRZ
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Another week coming to a close brings another rumor of a potential hotted-up version of the Subaru everyone wants to turbocharge, the BRZ.
A fresh rumor out of the Car and Driver offices makes the claim that a new, special-edition BRZ model will be offered up within the next few months. Word is that the new model will not get similar upgrades to the recent BRZ tS (seen above) for the Japanese market, meaning we're likely in for a cosmetic update instead of a functional one.
The looks of the tS could still be in the cards, however, meaning swapped-out lip spoiler, wheels and even STI badging might be on the way.
WRX Concept gets walkaround with Subaru design boss Osamu Namba
Mon, 08 Apr 2013The Subaru WRX Concept was the only concept car to be mentioned among our Editors' Choice favorites for New York Auto Show debuts this year - snagging the No. 3 spot nonetheless - due to what it could mean to the future of Subaru if it indeed becomes a reality. Now that we've caught our breath from walking countless miles through the Javits Center, Subaru has released a brief video of design boss Osamu Namba describing some of the exterior styling elements of the sporty concept sedan.
While this video is just your basic walkaround that gives no mention of the concept's inspiration or what we can expect from the next-generation WRX, it is still fun to watch Namba explain many of the car's design elements including the more aggressive face, the quadruple exhaust outlets and the signature flared wheel arches and side outlet fender vents. Subaru facing class-action suit over excess oil use
Tue, 22 Jul 2014A recently filed lawsuit in federal court against Subaru of America and its parent Fuji Heavy Industries claims that several recent models burn an excessive amount of oil. The case, which is seeking class-action status, covers examples of the 2011-2014 Forester, 2013 Legacy and 2013 Outback with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the 2012-2013 Impreza and 2013 XV Crosstrek with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
The suit alleges that Subaru knew about the excessive oil consumption but didn't fix the problem, according to USA Today. It contends that owners have to spend an unreasonable amount of money to keep these models topped up with Texas tea, and that the people represented wouldn't have bought the vehicle if they had known that this could happen.
As proof of Subaru's knowledge of excessive oil use, the lawsuit cites four technical service bulletins from the company telling dealers about the issue, although, that would seem to partially invalidate the claim that the automaker hasn't attempted to fix things. The case was filed on behalf of two men, one with a 2014 Forester and the other with a 2013 Outback. "Following an extensive investigation, we now look forward to litigating the case," said Matthew Schelkopf, an attorney for the plaintiffs, to USA Today.
