2002 SATURN SL1 SEDAN. THIS CAR RUNS, DRIVES GOOD OR CAN BE USED FOR PARTS. THIS CAR HAS BEEN MY DAILY DRIVER (60 MILES A DAY)SINCE MAY OF 2011 AND RECENTLY PURCHASED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS CAR HAS A REBUILT TITLE. THIS WAS INVOLVED IN FRONT IMPACT WITH MODERATE DAMAGE IN MAY OF 2006 WITH 62,OOO MILES. A SALVAGE TITLE WAS ISSUED 6/27/06 AND REBUILT TITLE ISSUED 9/7/2006 ACCORDING TO CARFAX REPORT I PURCHASED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR. THE CODE SAYS MISFIRE CYLINDER #3 BUT RUNS GOOD WHEN WARM. I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP BUT THEY HAVE NOT FOUND ANY ISSUE. SOMETIMES IT RUNS ROUGH WHEN FIRST STARTED (NOT ALWAYS) AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP RPM UP AROUND 2000 TILL IT WARMS UP. IT RECENTLY DEVELOPED A SMALL COOLANT LEAK EITHER TOP OF RADIATOR OR UPPER RADIATOR HOSE. I TRIED TO OPEN THE MOONROOF THE OTHER DAY AND IT HAS GOT STUCK OPEN. EVEN THOUGH THE PICTURES SHOWS IT OPEN, I MANAGED TO GET MOST OF IT CLOSED EXCEPT FOR ABOUT 1/4 INCH ON LEFT SIDE. THE BODY IS IN GOOD CONDITION BUT THE HOOD HAS SOME RUST ON FRONT EDGE. ALL LIGHTS, HORN, WINDOWS, LOCKS, CRUISE, HEAT, REAR DEFROSTER AND RADIO WORK.. THE LAST TIME I USED THE AC IT WORKED AS WELL. THE ENGINE SOUNDS GOOD BUT DOES LEAK SOME OIL. THE TRANS SHIFTS FINE AND THE BRAKES WORK GOOD. THE FRONT TIRES ARE NEWER AND THE REARS ARE OK. THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL BEARING IS STARTING TO GET A LITTLE NOISEY BUT DOES NOT NEED REPLACEMENT YET. THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE WITH NO TEARS BUT DOES HAVE A BURN HOLE BACK SEAT. THE HEADLINER IS LOOSE IN FRONT AND SAGS SOME IN THE BACK. THIS DOES TIGHTEN UP SOME WHEN WARM OUT.I HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL PICTURES TO SHOW THE OVERALL CONDITION. I HAD THE OIL CHANGE 8 TIMES WITHIN THE 32,000 MILES I HAVE DRIVEN . I DO HAVE RECEIPTS FOR ALL THE REPAIRS. I DO BELIEVE I LISTED ALL KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS AT NO RESERVE. ITEM IS TO BE PAID WITHIN 3 DAYS. I ACCEPT ONLY PAY PAL OR CASH. NO CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS. THIS IS FOR PICK-UP ONLY WITHIN 7 DAYS. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORED BIDDING. ONCE AGAIN THIS IS SOLD AS-IS.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Car thief lands Saturn on Fresno roof
Fri, 06 Jan 2012Residents of a Fresno, California apartment building recently awoke to debris falling from their ceiling after a car thief managed to execute a perfect parking job on the structure's roof. Police say 26-year-old Benjamin Tucker stole the Saturn sedan from a nearby house before striking either a curb or some rocks, vaulting the vehicle into the air and onto the roof. After seeing his predicament, Tucker leapt from the roof and fled the scene. Or at least he tried to. Tucker broke his leg in the fall and only made it around a quarter of a mile from the crash when police picked him up.
No one else was harmed in the stunt.
Tucker had two outstanding warrants for his arrest at the time for a hit-and-run and evading police. A special crane had to be called in to remove the Saturn from the apartment roof and the structure will indeed require repairs. Hit the jump for a news report on the incident.
GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect
Tue, 17 Aug 20102010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
