2008 Saturn Outlook Xr Sport Utility 4-door 3.6l on 2040-cars

As our family has expanded, we are looking to sell our trusty Outlook. We bought this vehicle new in March of 2008 and it is accident-free, has been well-maintained, kept immaculately clean and driven few miles each year (just rolled to 64K last week) This SUV has been reliable, comfortable, and pretty good on gas (avg 20-24 MPG) and has quite a bit of room.
The car has all the XR options except sunroof, DVD and all-wheel drive. Other than that, this guy is loaded. I have had an integrated Bluetooth receiver (iConnect model) installed to the factory radio, so you can use your iPhone/Android plus stream your iTunes or whatever through the radio. (Bluetooth wasn't available when this car was new) This XR is also equipped with backup sensors, trailering package, and power liftgate.
The carpets and seats are totally stain and wear free, and the seats have NO cracks or split seams. The leather is about as lightly worn as it could be. We regularly clean and condition the seats, so that probably helps.
The door panels are clean and scuff free, and there is only ONE area on this vehicle with any scratches, and that would be three vertical scratches on the passenger inside panel in the back cargo area. I've been told these could be fixed fairly easily, but I haven't had them fixed, as it's just cosmetic. Other than that, the paint, body, dash, and everything else is in remarkable condition.
I'm happy to provide additional info and photos if requested. I'm also happy to show this car with some advance notice. I have a clear title in hand and I'm looking to get fair resale value on this, as it's worth it. You'd be hard pressed to find one of these with such low miles and in such good condition. So please - no crazy offers, no trades, I am looking to sell this thing, but I won't give it away.
Thanks for looking. |

GM's got 107 problems and NHTSA's No. 1
Thu, Mar 6 2014General Motors' problems with its recall of roughly 1.6-million vehicles continue to mount. Now that it has emerged that GM knew about the problem since at least 2004 but waited to recall vehicles until February 2014, regulators at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have begun a much deeper investigation. NHTSA has sent a 27-page survey to GM that includes 107 questions about the timeline of what led up to the recall, and it has until April 3 to reply. This isn't a simple, multiple-choice test. Automotive News believes that hundreds of pages could be required to answer some of the queries. NHTSA says that it is still investigating GM's response to the recall. "We are a data-driven organization, and we will take whatever action is appropriate based on where our findings lead us," said NHTSA in a statement on its website. If found liable, the automaker could face a fine as high as $35 million and even possible criminal charges, according to Bloomberg. NHTSA's questions include a detailed explanation of GM's examination process; how it will improve the process; why a planned redesign of the cars' key in 2005 wasn't implemented; and specific data on each complaint it received. According to Bloomberg, NHTSA also has records that show the company had a meeting with regulators to discuss the airbag failure in a Chevrolet Cobalt in 2007. New GM CEO Mary Barra has also hired an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation about what happened. It will include questioning company employees who were involved with the process from the start. The recall stems from faulty ignition switches that shut off the car while driving, and if it occurs the airbags deactivate. Thirteen deaths and 23 crashes have been caused by the problem, according to Bloomberg. If you would like to peruse NHTSA's entire questionnaire for GM, it can be viewed here. NHTSA opens safety investigations into Toyota, GM and Honda crossovers
Fri, 08 Jun 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is evidently keeping itself very busy these days, as the federal agency has just announced it is launching or renewing investigations into Toyota, Honda and General Motors crossovers.
2006-2008 model year Toyota RAV4 crossovers are under review for allegations of rear tie-rod rust which can result in failure. NHTSA also said it is probing some 35 complaints about 2005 Honda Pilot models with inappropriate activation of the vehicles' stability control system. The alleged malfunction can cause the vehicles to slow down or stop in bad unsafe situations. At the moment, NHTSA is reviewing a petition regarding the Pilot issue, a move that will determine whether it needs to open a full-blown investigation.
In addition, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia three-row crossovers built in 2007-2009 are getting looked at for "loss of low beam headlamp" function. One complainant said the wiring in his Outlook overheated and melted. NHTSA says it has received 415 complaints about the problem and a GM spokesman confirmed that the automaker already started a "Customer Satisfaction Program" in December to address the issue.
GM ignition switch trial cleared to begin on January 11
Sat, Jan 2 2016US District Judge Jesse Furman didn't accept General Motor's attempt to dismiss a civil trial over the automaker's faulty ignition switches, and set a January 11 start date for the case to begin, according to Reuters. The judge found that plaintiff Robert Scheuer had the evidence to proceed with the case. Scheuer was injured in an accident in his 2003 Saturn Ion in 2014 when another vehicle forced him off the road, and he crashed into some trees. The airbag didn't deploy, and Scheuer alleged this was the result of the faulty ignition switch. According to Reuters, Scheuer's trial is one of six bellwether cases over GM's ignition switch problem in the coming year. Juries' decisions in these lawsuits should provide an example of how similar trials could end, and these results would help The General decide whether to settle other pending cases or to keep fighting them. The ignition switch fiasco has already cost GM billions. For example, the company's compensation program offered $594.5 million in 399 cases of people killed or injured by the defective parts. Anyone that accepted this money agreed not to sue GM for the problem later. The company also came to a $900 million criminal settlement with the US government and paid $575 million in civil resolutions in September.
