See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"This Aero has low miles, Document newer engine with 51k miles and runs great. It is being sold as is, where is and will probably need shipped to be safe. There are little scratches and dents as you would expect for a car that's 10 years old,and it has developed a transmission oil leak. Probably needs a new transmission sea."

For sale is my wife's well cared for 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon. Yes the mileage is accurate with only 83k miles currently (but keep in mind she is still driving it).
It's Merlot exterior, tan leather interior, all the options including the Homelink garage opener, Harmon/Kardon sound system, AutoDim mirrors, etc. etc. It is Auto with Sport, Manual, and Winter mode, no modifications done, completely stock!

It get's better... This car's engine did end up with internal damage as most Saabs with the sludge issue do, so we replaced the engine with a 51k mi 2007 Aero b235R engine! This Aero does have a rebuilt title, but that is NOT due to any accident. It's due entirely to the engine going bad.

Yes, I have documentation. What you are buying is a low mileage car with even lower mileage 2007 engine where Saab fixed ALL sludging issues. This Aero is not new by any means, has little scratches and knicks here and there. Should you be interested we can negotiate including a complete parts car of the same year, make, model, color with a clear title (2003 Saab 9-5 Aero sedan Merlot ext, tan int. auto)

The car has developed a transmission oil leak but she kept driving it because we know we want to buy a larger car for when our family will grow. The leak has gotten worse so it will probably need shipped and the seal or gasket replaced. I can probably help find a reasonable shipper from my area that will ship the car (or both cars) for a decent rate.

Any questions, comment let me know BEFORE bidding. All sales are final. I encourage anyone to come see it in person and inspect it before purchasing if you would like.
This auction is for the 2003 Saab Aero wagon only. To further discuss, contact me directly prior to bidding.

Thank you and good luck!

First test drive shows promise of Saab 9-3 EV

Tue, Sep 16 2014

We can't read Swedish, so when it comes to a first-drive review of a Saab 9-3 electric-vehicle prototype, we'll trust Inside EVs' translation of a write-up from Swedish automotive publication Elbilen i Sverige. And it's a decent one. The write-up, that is. The translation, too, we hope. Taken to the test track, the Saab was found to be quieter than a Tesla Model S and had the stability commensurate for a car that tipped the scales at about 4,000 pounds. The sedan accelerated from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 10 seconds, though the goal is to bring that time down to 8.5 seconds. The prototype also uses a 37-kWh prototype battery made by China-based Kai Johan Jiang Annual National Modern Energy Holdings that should be good for over 180 miles (and there's room for a bigger pack in the car, apparently). The 9-3's electric motor will be able to deliver 200 horsepower but, for testing purposes, it was limited to about 140 horsepower. The overall impression was that the car is not yet ready for prime time, but has a lot of promise. When prototype becomes production is the real question, given the financial condition of Saab parent National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS). The company acquired the brand in 2012 and started making cars at Saab's Trollhattan plant in Sweden last year, but production stopped in May because of cash-flow issues. Late last month, Swedish courts denied NEVS protection from its creditors, so the company is now looking to restructure.

Former Saab chairman Muller faces summons in tax inquiry

Thu, 23 May 2013

Former Saab Chairman Victor Muller may be called in for questioning as part of an official inquiry into suspected tax evasion by three of the automaker's former executives. A prosecutor has officially named former CEO Jan-Ake Jonsson and two other executives in the investigation, and official court documents say that Muller will be called in by the Financial Crimes Unit. According to Reuters, prosecutors are currently looking into allegations that the executives worked to dodge taxes between 2010 and 2011, when the automaker finally went into bankruptcy.
The Truth About Cars reports the investigation may center around the $540,000 paid as consulting fees to Latin America Tug Holding NV, a company Muller owns. It's possible that the Swedish authorities believe the Saab executives were using the tug boat company as a tax haven, and that the automaker should have paid taxes and social security contributions on the money. Muller has not been charged.
Meanwhile, Muller is defending his earnings in a new interview with Automotive News. Having come under fire for his $773,000 salary at Saab, the Spyker CEO said his pay was commensurate with an executive running a company with 4,000 employees.

Saab begins 9-3 EV pilot production

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

To say that Saab has had a tough time lately would be like saying that it's been a little colder than usual this winter. After General Motors finally gave up and sold it to Spyker in 2010, Saab declared bankruptcy the following year. GM successfully blocked Spyker from selling Saab to Chinese automaker Youngman the following year, but ultimately it ended up in the hands of another Chinese consortium called NEVS. Standing as it does for National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the new owners promised not only to restart production of the long-suffering 9-3, but also to turn it into an electric vehicle. And that's just what it's doing.
The latest news coming out of Sweden indicates that NEVS/Saab has started building the first examples of the 9-3 EV. These first 200 or so examples are set to be shipped off to Qingdao - the Chinese city that is home to the Tsingtao brewery, hosted the sailing components of the 2008 summer games on Beijing, was supposed to host an IndyCar race in 2012 before it was canceled, and also itself just happens to own 22 percent of NEVS.
These first EVs have their batteries mounted down low in the chassis for a low center of gravity and have a range of about 20 miles on a full charge. That's absolutely paltry compared to the other EVs on the market: a Nissan Leaf will travel more than four times that distance, and a Tesla Model S will go ten times farther on a charge.
