Silver Shadow Ll on 2040-cars
Hopkinton, Massachusetts, United States
This Rolls was a former member of a big limo company here in Boston and was well kept ,She has been off the road for about 6-7 years , I did a shot of fresh gas and a good battery a few months ago and she ran good with out noise or smoke, at least one of the wheels are frozen( been told the rubber brake hoses collapse, the paint on the roof will need to be re-done as well as some other body work,The car is very straight with only a small dent near the right rear tail light ,To be safe I would say the car needs a complete restoration,If your gonna do it do it right ,The was a great running and driving car when taken out of service with plans of a make over,The rolls is 100% complete and should make for a great affordable project for someone .I just can't get to it ,I mean to do it right it is gonna take some time (and money) that I just don't seem to have. THE RESERVE IS SURPRISINGLY LOW ! so good luck I hope you win it!!!!! I just reviewed my ad and I see the pictures are pretty dark ...if you want a picture of a certain area PLEASE feel free to ask

Rolls-Royce Wraith convertible planned, SUV rumors kicked to the curb
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Seeing as it adheres to the exotic car template we've known for years, it should surprise no one that the next model from Rolls-Royce will reportedly be a convertible version of the Wraith. When the coupe is on its way to dealers at the end of this year, company CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös has told Autocar that the British luxury marque start applying itself to the convertible.
At no time will they apply themselves to an SUV, though. Still sticking to its brand-value guns, Müller-Ötvös says that an SUV wouldn't have that trademark Rolls-Royce feeling and that such a vehicle hasn't even been discussed. Having heard this before from other brands, we can't help but suspect that one day in the future we'll hear the phrase, "Oh, but this is the Rolls-Royce of SUVs."
The investment in an SUV would also mean a huge investment in the factory at Goodwood, however, since Wraith production is expected to need three shifts and raise levels to near capacity. And forget about building anything from The Spirit of Ecstasy somewhere else, Müller-Ötvös saying, "Rolls-Royces are built in Goodwood."
Could Rolls-Royce expand business with new models?
Mon, 12 Aug 2013Rolls-Royce may be forced to expand its lineup beyond the über-luxury cars gobbled up by the ultra-wealthy jetset, as new competition in the form of the rumored, high-end Mercedes-Benz S-Class could take a slice of the luxury pie from the BMW-owned manufacturer.
Automotive News reports that this, along with the combination of BMW's unwillingness to move above the price-point set by the 7-Series and Bentley's expansion into the SUV realm, could force Rolls-Royce's hand. AN is arguing that, as unrealistic as it might sound, Rolls could develop a four-door crossover or shooting brake, but that any such plans are in the earliest of stages.
In the near term, the smallest Rolls-Royce, the Ghost, will get a refresh in 2014, while the sporty Wraith fastback will spawn a convertible variant by 2015. The big boy of the Rolls-Royce range, meanwhile, is due for a far more comprehensive re-do. The Phantom is expected to share a platform with the next-generation 7-Series in 2016. Advanced materials are expected to feature heavily, as Rolls-Royce seeks to trim body fat and improve fuel economy without compromising the performance or comfort expected of the brands' flagship model.
Grey Poupon's Pardon Me Lost Footage ad airs during Oscars
Mon, 25 Feb 2013Those of you that took our tip and tuned in for last night's Academy Awards may have caught the latest iteration of the famous Grey Poupon commercials, featuring a pair of Rolls-Royce sedans and their condiment-loving stewards. The update to the 1981 commercial was only shown in part on television, however, as the mustard company directed viewers to its website to see the entirety of the Lost Footage spot. Of course if you didn't bother then, you can just scroll down to see the full-length two-minute commercial here.
As you're viewing, note that the Grey Poupon marketers did not, it would appear, get official sanction from Rolls-Royce this time around. While the Rollers in the commercial have all sorts of James Bond-like accouterments, they don't appear to have the official Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornaments, for example, and they have restyled lights and grilles. Check out the new spot below, and see if it stacks up to the iconic Pardon Me original.
