GM already raising prices on 2014 Silverado and Sierra pickups

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

General Motors must be pretty pleased with sales of its two newest pickups, the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado, as it's announced price hikes for both models, as part of a planned price tweak.
Prices will be bumped by as much as $1,500, although weirdly, they'll be offset by as much as $1,500 in cash-back offers through the end of October. Fox Business reports that GM spokesman Jim Cain said of the price hike, "With the sell down of the '13 models nearly complete, this price adjustment was planned and is a normal part of business."
The move, as Fox is quick to point out, is an interesting one, as sales of the twin pickups struggled last month relative to the Ford F-Series, while both of GM's crosstown competitors have been aggressively undercutting Silverado and Sierra prices. The F-150 starts at $24,070 and the Ram 1500 comes in at $23,600, not counting any cash on the hood. A base Silverado, meanwhile, retails at $25,575.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition sells out in three hours

Thu, Aug 20 2020

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition is officially sold out. In fact, it’s been sold out for a little while now. Ram announced today that all 702 trucks were spoken for just three hours after order books opened. Only 702 Launch Editions will ever produced for the U.S. market, the number being a nod to the amount of horsepower its 6.2-liter supercharged V8 produces. All will be painted in a unique Anvil Gray paint that wonÂ’t be offered on regular Ram TRXs. TheyÂ’ll also have a red and brushed aluminum center console badge that identifies it as a Launch Edition truck. ItÂ’s similar to the badge found on the standard TRX interior, but Ram spruced it up a bit for the Launch Edition. Additionally, all Launch Editions will be loaded to the gills with features. It comes with the TR2 (highest) equipment pack, carbon fiber interior trim, color accent package, head-up display, beadlock-capable wheels, 19-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, panoramic sunroof and body side TRX graphics. All this, and it costs $90,265. “We said the Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition would go fast. And we meant that in more ways than one,” said Mike Koval Jr., Head of Ram Brand. Good one, Ram. There is no limit on regular Ram 1500 TRXs, so if you want one, you can go ahead and order it up. The truck starts at $71,690, so bring your extra-deep wallets. Ram extends Black Package to Heavy Duty trucks

Thu, 03 Apr 2014

If you liked the Black Express package Ram offers on its 1500 light-duty pickup but need the added capability of a Heavy Duty model, we've got good news for you.
This week at the Atlanta International Auto Show, the Ram truck brand is rolling out the Black package for the Ram HD 2500 and 3500 SRW. It features a sinister-looking exterior with 20-inch alloys, fog lamps, grille, front and rear bumpers and badges all blacked out. All the body-side badging has also been removed, unless you go for Cummins power, in which case you still get a chrome diesel badge on the side.
In correspondence with Autoblog, Ram spokesman Nick Cappa explained that the popularity of the Black edition light-duty truck was the impetus for the Heavy Duty edition you see here. "Ram has a reputation for going further on design and custom-looks from the factory," explained Cappa, pointing towards the Express, Sport and Longhorn editions. "This type of forward design-thinking led us to extend the aggressive appearance to the HD trucks, which in the past has been a bit more subtle."
