About the car The car is a beautiful red 1999 Porsche Boxster with 77,532 miles and a 5 speed manual. I am the second owner of this Porsche and it has been garaged kept and only driven on the sunniest of days since I have owned it. The car runs great and handles like you wouldn’t believe. It has the Michelin Pilot sport tire (the best you can get) on all four rims. They were just added 2 years ago and have less than 10,000 miles. I have detailed the car every year and kept it under a Noha wolfe indoor/outdoor car cover which is included with the car. The leather seats show very little wear and the Porsche floor mats have never been in the car. I also have the hard top which is rare for this car. (pictures included) There is some wear and tear that you must be aware of. The shifter has worn leather, some wheels have wear, a small nick on the door handle, and there is a check engine light that is on. I have included pictures of everything so you can see. The check engine light is for a sensor for the O2 sensor. I have an invoice that will show that is cost $1700 to fix. THIS CAR HAS A CLEAN CARFAX HISTORY. New J.D. Power Initial Quality Study puts Porsche, GM in spotlight
Wed, 19 Jun 2013J.D. Power and Associates has released its annual Initial Quality Study, and this year, Porsche and General Motors took the spotlight. The study, which asks new car owners to report problems experienced during the first 90 days of ownership, found that overall, the industry averages 113 problems per 100 vehicles.
Porsche managed a score of just 80 problems per 100 vehicles, while GMC took the second spot on the podium with 90. Lexus filled out the top three with 94 problems per 100 vehicles, followed by Infiniti at 95 and Chevrolet at 97. The study also looks at specific models, and found the Lexus LS to enjoy the best initial quality at 59 problems per 100 vehicles.
Interestingly enough, the report found that around two-thirds of most owner problems experienced in the first 90 days are attributable to vehicle design instead of mechanical failure. Specifically - echoing a refrain we've been hearing for the last few years - owners are having a hard time figuring out how to use the technology present in their new vehicles. Head over to the J.D. Evo rediscovers true love in the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Wed, Jun 3 2015Evo is on record as loving the Porsche 911 GT3. In fact the only time the GT3 hasn't won its Car of the Year award was when there wasn't a new one to contend for top honors, and in 2009 (when the 997.2 GT3 lost out to the Lotus Evora). By all accounts, then, Evo ought to love the new GT3 RS. Fortunately that's just what the British enthusiast's publication has gotten its hands on for this latest video. After Porsche went a bit softer with the current 911 GT3, the RS has been toughened up to greet the most hardcore of Zuffenhausen's faithful. It was revealed just a few months ago at the Geneva Motor Show, with a 4.0-liter atmospheric boxer-six driving 500 horsepower and 338 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels – exclusively through a dual-clutch transmission. That last bit might be enough to make the snobbiest of purists scoff, but it wasn't enough to keep Chris Harris from loving it.
