1998 Porsche Boxster
Excellent car, runs great, drives great. Fun and great looking car! It has the taillights and wheels that make it look better than a brand new Boxster!
The Boxster has great tires and rims and the dual exhaust makes the car sound great. Its a 5 speed manual which makes the Porsche fun to drive.
Recent oil change done, and I just put two new tires in the back for $500 less than 1000 miles ago I have all paperwork.
Also, just registered the car this month. Good until July 2014!
I will include the nav device that is currently in the car as it is already hooked up to the car.
Problems: The airbag warning light is on. This is the problem that is causing that:
Airbag Warning Light Lit
Diagnostic: Airbag idiot light on dash lights up.
Cause: Faulty seat belt receptacles.
Details: If the airbag idiot light appears on the dash, the most frequent cause is a fault in the relay in the seat belt. The Boxster has a relay that detects and records whether the seat belt was being worn if the airbag deploys. The solution is to replace the seat belt buckle receptacles. See the Boxster Technical Bulletin labeled Air Bag Warning Lamp On [grp6 9701 6924 9/30/97]. Although this bulletin says that the problem is fixed, it is still occurring on a fair number of Boxsters. Unfortunately, you do not want to mess around with faults in the airbag system, since it could save your life, so you should have this checked reasonably quickly.
Time in Shop: 2.33 hours.
Also the spoiler no longer retracts so the car has a permanent spoiler.
But you won't find a better looking, sounding, or driving Boxster out there! Sorry to sell but have to pay for school

Porsche gives Nick Murray exactly what he deserved [w/video]
Sat, 19 Apr 2014The tale of Nick Murray and his lemon Porsche 911 appears to have come to a satisfactory end. As noted in the original story about Murray, he and Porsche Cars North America met and came to a resolution. However, we didn't know exactly what that meant, until now.
Murray has created a new video explaining that PCNA offered to buy back the car at full price or give him an exact replacement for it. This was exactly what he was asking for. Murray remains pro-Porsche in the new video. "I am definitely considering reordering a Porsche 911," he says.
Porsche also posted a message on its Facebook page that clarified the situation. "We at Porsche have always sought excellence in all that we do. We know you expect it of us. And when we don't meet that standard, we make every effort to improve," said a portion of the note.
Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911s with limited edition model
Tue, 04 Jun 2013Despite being 50 years old now, the Porsche 911 sure is looking good for her age. And to commemorate this milestone anniversary, Porsche has created the 911 50 Years Edition you see here, which will make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show - 50 years after the original 911 debuted at this very same expo.
What's really neat about the 50 Years Edition is that it houses a rear-wheel-drive setup inside of the wider body used for all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 and 4S models. Found at the back is the 3.8-liter flat-six from the Carrera S, upgraded with the Powerkit package that increases horsepower from 400 to 430 and includes the Sport Chrono setup. According to Porsche, hitting 60 miles per hour takes just 4.2 seconds with the seven-speed manual transmission, or 3.8 seconds with the optional dual-clutch PDK.
Visual changes include two special paint colors - a darker graphite grey and a lighter geyser grey - unique 20-inch wheels that pay homage to the original Fuchs rollers of the 1963 car, and special badging at the rear and on the door sills. Inside, there are more throwbacks to the original 911, with green labeling on the instruments, white pointer needles and silver accents. What's more, the leather seats feature a fabric insert reminiscent of the Pepita design from the '60s. Looks great to us.
Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help
Mon, 19 Aug 2013The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
This is a bit more mechanically detailed than Leno's normal videos, but it's on a very interesting subject. Take a look below for the entire film.
