I recently purchased this 1987 Porsche 944S to do auto-x events at NOLA Motorsports. I have to admit, I was drawn in by the awesome body lines of this car. After driving it around town, I decided that this isn't the right car for me. I never took it to any race events. It does handle and drive well though. Reliable enough to be a daily driver.
5 Speed 152,000 miles
The good:
Mechanically, it has been well-maintained. I have receipts to show for most of it. The following has been replaced less than 2 years ago:
Clutch/pilot bearing
All belts including timing
Brand new a/c compressor converted to 134-a
Spark plugs
Plug wires
Distributor and rotor
Turbo spec water pump
Starter
Sony Cd player and new speakers
Air flow meter
Shocks were replaced 4 years ago
WOT switch
Flywheel position sensor
Oil pressure sensor
Turbo spec catback
Multiple hoses
Multiple bushings
Motor mounts
Tensioner Pad
And a few other motor parts. It runs and drives perfect. A/c is cold, Tires have plenty of tread.
The bad:
Rock chips on the hood
Cracked lower front bumper(fiberglass)
A few dings around the body
ABS light is lit on the dash. ( The light only comes on after I start driving, so I suspect a wheel sensor.)
Small oil drip towards the front of the engine on the passenger side. It's a very minor drip, but I wanted to be sure and disclose it.
The muffler is a little louder than I like, but bearable. I have a new windshield, a new Cat converter, and a new fuel filter I can include in the sale. I also have a few spare relays and knick knack parts laying around I can give you.
If you like the 924/944 cars, than this one is worth checking out. Feel free to ask any questions.

Porsche offers design walkthrough of Panamera Sport Turismo
Thu, 03 Jan 2013The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo was arguably the best concept car of 2012, and Porsche has been building upon that momentum by teasing us with videos of its first-ever station wagon design. After showing us some driving shots of the Sport Turismo, Porsche released a more in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at what it took to take the Panamera shooting brake from a full-scale clay model to the final product we saw on stage at the Paris Motor Show. In the video, Michael Mauer, Porsche style director, and Mitja Borkert, general manager advanced design style, both give a little insight about what went into creating the Sport Turismo Concept.
More than just a station wagon version of the Panamera, the Sport Turismo has a totally distinctive look nose to tail. Some of the key elements the designers touch on in the video include the Porsche-signature raised front fenders, the wide rear shoulders, the front wing inspired by the 918 Spyder, and even some of the car's unique touches, including the headlights and the three-dimensional "Porsche" lettering across the liftgate made from glass. One of the more exciting aspects of the concept - which is sadly just glossed over in the video - is the rear liftgate spoiler that features "variable aerodynamics" that sounds like it acts similar to the retractable spoiler on the current Panamera.
We still don't know if the Panamera Sport Turismo will make it into production, but if you want to see what went into creating this exciting concept car and see the different build phases designers went through to create the Paris show car, check out the video by scrolling below.
Porsche Boxster spied in the buff
Thu, Aug 6 2015Porsche is preparing a significant update to its entry level Boxster convertible, and while visually this might appear to be a simple refresh, the changes are more than skin deep. Following a number of rumors, Porsche will finally make the jump to turbocharged engines on a broad scale, and it starts with this new Boxster. According to our spies, it's the larger side intakes featured on this prototype that give away its smaller, force-induced flat-four engine. The dual exhaust pipes, meanwhile, say Boxster S to us, rather than just the basic model. Beyond the mechanical changes, this marks the first time we've seen the new Boxster completely free of camouflage. We can see that Porsche's stylists – famous for revolutionary designs slowly tweaking the same style for decads on end – adjusted the look of the front and rear fascias. We like the more aggressively canted headlights, which get the same four-pointed LEDs as its big brother, the 911. The slimmer taillights are a minor improvement on the inoffensive lamps fitted to the current car, and serve to take some attention off the all-plastic exhaust surround, which is much more simply styled than the current car's. It should also be noted that the aesthetics featured on the new Boxster are very, very likely to be transferred directly onto the new Cayman. You can check out our full gallery of shots of the all-new, totally undisguised Boxster in the gallery up top. Expect to see the new roadster around this time next year, with a debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show likely. Related Video:
