Up
for auction is this beautiful 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo with 5-Speed 2.5L 16 valve
engine with 84,920 original miles and high gloss Pearl While paint with tan and
black interior. I
purchased the vehicle from the original owner in October 2011, whom cared for
it for the previous 24 years and 79,900 miles.
The previous owner had performed
extensive maintenance on the vehicle and it has had the following work
completed: July 2008 (68,000 miles) the entire engine was removed and rebuilt
with new crankshaft, timing belt, connecting rods and rod bearing set, piston
ring set, fuel injectors and all injector seals/o-rings, clutch assembly
(clutch and slave cylinder), frequency valve, turbo cutoff valve, water pump
and hoses, and clamps, all belts, control arm bushing, engine mount, tension
roller, tension gear, engine gasket set, exhaust manifold gasket, exhaust seal
ring, hatch switch, shift level, heater control valve and receiver/dryer distributor
cap, ignition rotor and ignition dust cover.
(See receipts for $7,113.82 for all details). The
car was repainted in 2010 in a high gloss Pearl White and had a graphic “turbo”
script design applied to the right front fender (see photos) and a new Alpine
stereo receiver/CD player with iPod/USB connector installed. The
previous owner reported to following two incidents/issues: 1) 10/07/2010 - Rear hatch windshield was broken and insurance company replaced the glass with no other damage to car. 2) 04/24/2011 - Construction on main road was being done and the
city didn't properly cove the hole and the vehicle left front wheel hit the
hole resulting in a broken control arm. Both control arms have been
replaced and alignment performed. (See receipts for $891.17 and $1,082.52
respectively). As the second owner of the vehicle, the vehicle has been garage kept and I have had the throttle body replaced, new belts, radiator hoses, front sway bar bushings, new rear deck carpeting, and new Dunlop Direzza tires (205/55R16 front and 225/50R16 rear) installed with new color Porsche emblem center wheel caps. The maintenance and new tire installation were performed at 84,871 miles, and the tires have less than 50 miles on them, not a typo, they are new with under 50 miles on them. The car runs and drives great and is a real attention getter. The driver’s seat shows signs of wear and has some small cuts (see pictures) and there is a small paint chip on the left rear quarter panel behind the left rear tire (see pictures). The vehicle has a Viper anti-theft alarm system and has key fob activated lock, unlock and disarm features and if attempts are made to shake and/or enter vehicle when activated, the starter is deactivated and can be reset with a button on the key fob. The car also has the SEKURIT vehicle glass etching which includes the VIN number being etched on the glass (see pictures) and the vehicle also comes with a grey microfiber cloth car cover and four OC142 Mahle oil filters. The car is offered as is with no warranty. A
$1000 deposit on PayPal is required within 48 hours of
successful/winning bid and the balance via cash, certified funds/money order
within seven days or vehicle pickup, whichever first occurs. Car and title
transfer will not occur unless full payment is received. Vehicle is offered for local pickup and the buyer is responsible for any shipping (if required). Seller reserves the right to cancel the auction at any time due to local sale of the vehicle as it is also being advertised in the Upstate New York area concurrently with this eBay auction. Very reasonable reserve price. Please send any questions via eBay message to seller option and I will attempt to answer as quickly as possible. Good luck and happy bidding! |

Ferraris, Porsches and planes star at McCall’s Motorworks Revival
Thu, Aug 17 2017MONTEREY, Calif. – McCall's Motorworks Revival, sometimes called The Jet Party, kicked off vintage car week here as enthusiasts streamed into the region for days of car shows, official automaker events and hob-knobbing leading up to Sunday's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. Held at the Monterey Jet Center, the revival featured an array of exotic and classic cars blended in with planes, racecars, motorcycles and luxury items like jewelry. This year the eclectic lineup of cars included vintage Ferraris and Porsches, a raised 1964 Chevy Impala, a classic Toyota Land Cruiser and a Cobra. The 1960s Ford GT40 racecar sat near the modern Ford GT, while Camilo Pardo, the designer of the in-between generation (2004-06), held court nearby. Iconic planes like the B25, P51 and an ancient biplane were intermingled with the flashy cars. Show-goers tipped drinks, tossed back heavy hors d'oeuvres and desserts, ogled the seemingly random collection of amazing machines and prepared for days of celebrating the automobile on the Monterey Peninsula. The revival is in its 26th year and is put on by McCall Events, whose owner Gordon McCall is a class judge at the concours and the cofounder another Monterey car week staple, the Quail. The revival also collects donations for a California police charity. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS [UPDATE]
Mon, Dec 1 2014UPDATE: An earlier version of this story referenced the 911's six-speed manual transmission, but of course, Porsche uses a seven-speed manual in this car. The text has been changed to reflect this. There are no fewer than 19 different models in today's Porsche 911 series. While each appeals to the enthusiast, the race-bred GT3 is the pinnacle of the automaker's rear-engined lineup. Unfortunately, and despite the GT3's racing circuit prowess, its rigid track-tuned persona is too grating for many as a daily driver. To satisfy those who put sporty driving dynamics at the top of their list, but don't want to compromise comfort, Porsche has introduced the 2015 911 Carrera GTS. Raising its performance quotient, the GTS model boasts a handful of standard features that elevate it above its Carrera S siblings. Mechanically, it features an enhanced 3.8-liter flat-six bolted into the tail of the widebody platform (shared with the Carrera 4 and GT3). Other goodies include Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a black-tipped Sport exhaust system and centerlock 20-inch 911 Turbo S wheels (five-lug wheels are a no-cost option). Cosmetically, the GTS is differentiated by its darkened lights, painted black wheels, Sport Design front spoiler, Sport Design exterior mirrors, black engine grille, rear black louvers (or lights on all-wheel drive models) and a 'GTS' logo on the lower doors. Inside the cabin are standard Sport Plus seats, Alcantera upholstery throughout with contrasting stitching, black gauges and anodized black aluminum trim. Offering us an excellent opportunity to put the second-generation GTS through its paces on a variety of roads, Porsche tossed us the keys in the LA Basin and pointed us towards Willow Springs Raceway, in the Mojave Desert. Driving Notes The GTS is offered in coupe or Cabriolet body styles, each with a choice between rear- and all-wheel drive. Buyers are also offered a choice between a traditional seven-speed manual gearbox or Porsche's seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK). The GT3, meanwhile, is only offered as a coupe with PDK. We grabbed the keys to a Guards Red rear-wheel drive coupe with PDK for our outbound drive, and a GT Silver Metallic all-wheel drive Cabriolet with a seven-speed manual for our return trip. Finding another 30 horsepower from the naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six required some old-fashioned tricks.
Porsche celebrates Le Mans return with Martini edition 911
Tue, 10 Jun 2014If we've said it once, we've said it a hundred times - but we'll gladly say it again: there are few racing liveries as iconic as Martini. And while those stripes have adorned countless Lancia and Ford rally cars, grand prix racers (like the latest Williams) and even speedboats, they remain inexorably tied to Porsche. Fortunately that point is not lost on Porsche itself, which has lately put them on its own 918 Spyder, race-spec 911 and all manner of merchandise. And this is the latest.
To celebrate its return to Le Mans this year, Porsche Exclusive is offering this special Martini Racing Edition. It's based on the 911 Carrera S, which means the more potent 3.8-liter flat six with 400 horsepower, but upgrades, as you might have guessed, with a whole mess of Martini Racing stripes and logos, along with the Aerokit Cup front and rear spoilers. The badges and stripes abound inside as well, where you'll also find such optional extras as the Porsche Communication Management system, Bose audio and black leather electric sport seats.
Porsche is offering the 911 Carrera S Martini Racing Edition in either white or black, but unfortunately not in our market - just in Europe, China and Latin America. Those who miss out will (in certain markets anyway) be able to order the decal set separately though. Feel free to read more in the press release below.
