1984 Porsche 944 Base Coupe 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Swedesboro, New Jersey, United States
|
Very clean 944, non-turbo car. Paint and interior look great, a few blemishes in the paint and drivers seat split at seam, make be repaired before sale. The car has new brakes and slotted/drilled rotors all around. New timing belt, water pump, all pulleys and accessory belts replaced as well. A/C has new seals and clutch bearing, blows cold and converted to 134. The interior is very clean, nice carpets and door panels as well as a fresh dash cover. The car has a rebuilt torque tube from an 87 944 and the clutch has 3000 miles on it. Brand new high torque starter install as well. Front wheel bearings replaced last week. All work done in the last 300 miles.
The whole car has been inspected and all issues have been fixed except the sunroof. It is latched down but it needs a new motor or convert to manual style. Parts available on Ebay for less than 100 bucks. This car has been in our family for 10 years, never wrecked or abused. We did consider turning it into a track car, so a harness bar comes with it but is not pictured. I am driving the car every other day so mileage may be different at time of sale. The only non-original thing on the car beside the stereo (Blaupunkt/removable face CD) is the wheels. They are 16" ROH wheels with like new Sumitomo radials. Thanks for looking, car for sale locally so auction may end at any time. |

Infiniti cribs new US boss from Porsche
Mon, 19 Aug 2013Just weeks before he was supposed to become CEO of Porsche Cars Australia, Infiniti has apparently offered Porsche COO and Executive Vice President Michael Bartsch a deal he couldn't refuse. Thus, Bartsch has join the company as Vice President of Infiniti Americas, the luxury marque's top North American post. Bartsch replaces Ben Poore, who has been with the automaker since 2008, having led both a 22-percent sales surge in 2012 and the brand's current sales slough, Automotive News reports.
Bartsch, Porsche's No. 2 US executive, has held the COO and Executive Vice President positions at Porsche since 2005 and was scheduled to become CEO of Porsche's Oz division on September 1. Infiniti has experienced a number of recent personnel changes in the past week: it named Vincent Gillet, formerly an executive for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, to lead its marketing efforts worldwide and Simon Cox, a former designer for automakers including Ford and Peugeot, to head a new design studio in London.
Poore reportedly will pursue other interests outside of the auto industry. Read more about the personnel change in the press release below.
Singer Porsche, Koenigsegg, NSX: Leno's life doesn't suck
Tue, Oct 6 2015Jay Leno had quite a productive trip this year during Monterey Car Week. Not only did he get to pal around with Ian Callum and check out the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but the denim-clad comedian also headed to The Quail to talk to some prominent figures in the modern sports car scene. Capping off the fun, he got to take a drive in a Mercedes-AMG GT S, too Perhaps the highlight of this show is a nearly 10-minute interview with Christian von Koenigsegg. The founder of the Swedish hypercar company digs deep into the Agera One:1's engineering details, relating interesting facts about the aerodynamics and transmission. In addition, Leno chats with Rob Dickenson of Singer about its newly reimagined Porsche 911 Targa, and he gets the latest scoop on the Acura NSX's progress from newly promoted Acura Vice President and General Manager Jon Ikeda. If you like hearing about the nuts and bolts of sports car development, then this video can't be missed. Of course, we were there at Monterey, too, and we pointed our own cameras at some of the amazing machinery, both vintage and modern, at all the various car-focused events of the week. Take a look back at some of our own cool footage in the videos below. Related Video:
Supercar parade entering highway is mesmerizing
Thu, 09 May 2013In what must have looked and sounded to motorists on the M6 like an invasion of The Swarm, a parade of 50 enthusiast gems leaving a charity event were caught shooting down the on-ramp and merging into traffic. There were plenty of Porsches joining the 959 and Ducktail above, Aston Martins going back to the badboy V8 of the last millennium, a Ferrari Testarossa, a TVR and numerous other Easter eggs.
There were not, however, plenty of turn signals, with someone counting just five among the fifty engaging in proper use of the blinker. One reason put forth for that is the same reason we're posting this video, which is from last Summer, below: "because supercar." Enjoy.
