Porsche 928s 1986.5 All Factory Original 57,280 Miles Brembo 4 Piston Brakes on 2040-cars
Staatsburg, New York, United States
You are bidding on a 19861/2 Porsche 928S with 57,280 original miles. The car is in immaculate condition for being 28 years old, there is some light scratches on the body but nothing not to be expected on a car of this age. It has all the late model porsche upgrades of its time, brembo brakes, abs, heated seats, sunroof etc., no options were spared on this car. The 5.0 liter motor runs strong with no glitches and the transmission shifts smoothly. All power features work as they should including heat, ac, power windows and mirrors, rear hatch, rear defroster, heated seats, cruise control.....basically everything works as it should, very hard to find these with everything in working order. It even has the original radio with the factory instruction tape that came with the car. The car runs down the road straight and is very comfortable to drive. The tires still have good tread life left but will probably need to be changed before to long due to the tires being very old and hard. The car has only been driven a few hundred miles in the past few years. This is a great looking and driving car, here is your chance to own a vintage porsche that your buddies will drool over, a must have for any porsche enthusiast! Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns about the car and I will be happy to discuss it with you. Good luck and happy bidding!!! Lots of questions! The only records I have are the stamps in the manuel. I bought the car from a customer I had done work for. I had to do work in his garage and saw the car sitting there. He is in a wheel chair and the car was equipped with hand controls and had not been on the road in over 2 years. He could not get his chair in the car so could only use it for short drives. He put less than 500 miles on it the whole time he owned it. He had a pile of reciepts for the maintenance he had done but would not let me have them because they were his and had to keep them for his records!!! The car had not even been run in two years and would not let me even start the car. I took a chance on the car and bought it. I had another 928 a few years ago and really like the cars. I changed the oil, cranked the motor over to get the oil preasure up, then it started right up. I registered it and started driving it. Everything worked!!! I was amazed. I was told all the maintenance was up to date, but I have no record of the work, just the condition of the car! Thanks The picture is what the oil looked like before I changed it. Looked brand new! |

Mysterious Porsche 911 Cabriolet spied, could be GTS
Mon, 10 Mar 2014While Porsche's designers can jokingly be accused of being some of the laziest in the industry due to the incremental changes to the 911's iconic design, no such charge can be leveled against the engineers and product planning folks. That's because it seems like each week arrives with news of a new variation of the marque's iconic rear-engined sports car. So, for this week, we've brought you images of what we think is the new 911 GTS Cabriolet, undergoing testing in a thawing winter wonderland.
Now, what is it that gives this 911 away, compared to standard convertible? Well, the big thing is the new offset, center-mounted exhausts. Borrowing a page from the last Volkswagen R32, these exhaust tips are unlike anything we've seen from Porsche. Only the GT3 wears center pipes, and unlike these spy photos, the twin pipes on the track-minded 911 are stacked neatly alongside each other. The other change spotted by our spies is the set of active-aerodynamic flaps in the front bumper, which can automatically channel air toward the brakes for increased cooling, or close off to reduce drag, as needed.
Those exhausts are a pretty big design detail, and so far as we can tell is the only differentiator between the other 911s in this car's posse. Our spies speculate that this could be a 911 Speedster, but point out that both the canvas roof and windshield remain unchanged - the rumored Speedster model would almost certainly feature a different roof assembly along with a steeply raked windshield.
Techart Porsche 911 Targa 4S is a tuner's attempt at being tasteful
Thu, Mar 5 2015We've not been terribly nice to the aftermarket tuners of the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. That's largely because they don't deserve our kindness. Techart, though, is not going to be the subject of derision, largely because aside from painting this Porsche 911 Targa a particularly lurid shade of yellow (and finding seat upholstery and trim to match), the changes aren't particularly offensive. Hell, paint it black, silver or red, and it'd just look like a more aggressive Porsche. That's largely because it is. Techart has behaved itself, fitting a brand new body kit featuring a new rear spoiler, diffuser, front splitter and side skirts, and replacing the much of the interior componentry with carbon fiber and aluminum components. The tuner doesn't mention the exact name of the shade used both inside and out on this Targa, although those with more conservative tastes will rest easy knowing that "stylistic harmony with standard or Techart individual paint is guaranteed." Techart's deft aesthetic treatment hides a similarly light tweaking under the sheetmetal. This car features a new exhaust system, complete with four staggered exhaust pipes that have been finished in black chrome. And that's it. There aren't 17 turbos or a new intake manifold crafted from free-range ivory. It's the same 400-horsepower flat six found in a normal Targa 4S. Techart has fitted its own springs, although it doesn't tell us how much (or even if) the ride has been lowered. 21-inch alloys round out the more practical changes. Porsche considering turbo for new GT3 RS [w/poll]
Tue, 03 Jun 2014Some automakers make one hardcore version of a sports car and are done with it. Or at least they make one at a time. Think Ferrari 458 Speciale, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (or Super Trofeo Stradale or Squadra Corse) or Maserati GranTurismo MC. But not Porsche. It transforms the 911 into the hard-core GT3, the even harder-core GT3 RS, the you've-got-to-be-psychotic GT2 and the do-you-have-a-death-wish GT2 RS. The RS models take things to a further extreme, but what separates GT3 from GT2 models has traditionally been the use of foced induction: GT3s are naturally aspirated, while GT2s go turbo. But that could all be about to change.
According to the rumors making their round of the webosphere, Porsche is considering using a turbocharged engine for the next GT3 RS. The reason is that, as we all know, Porsche has already pushed the 3.8-liter flat-six in the existing GT3 about as far as it can go, and then some. And buyers expect not only a more bare-bones package with the GT3 RS, but also a bit of extra power.
Given that everything seems to be going turbo these days, the move might make some measure of sense, especially if Porsche wants to avoid with the GT3 RS the spontaneous combustion issues it faced with the GT3. But we can't help but wonder why, at that point, it wouldn't just skip the GT3 RS and go straight for the GT2.
