1988 Porsche 928 S4 Coupe 2-door 5.0l on 2040-cars
Palmyra, Pennsylvania, United States
This 928 S4 is hands down a fun car to drive and makes me smile every time I drive her. She starts effortlessly and produces that strong sounding rumble letting you know that you got a 316hp 5.0L V8 sitting under the hood. The automatic transmission goes through all the gears and the suspension feels tight. It accelerates, shifts, and stops just like it should. The paint and body is in decent shape, but we repainted the sunroof and front bumper due to the clear coat flaking off. This car looks good considering it is 26 years old. It also has that rare GTS style rear bumper panel with the reflective strip that runs between the tail lights. Haven't seen too many like that, but it does make it stand out from all the other S4s. Very sexy looking car. This car was recently gone through by our Porsche 928 technician/specialist. Some of the recent work done to this car includes: Speedometer serviced and tested by a speedo calibration service shop Smog pump belt New front and rear Velozza tires New CD/radio unit New battery Horn repaired Passenger side taillight repaired Sunroof and front bumper painted All 4 wheels painted The car does have some flaws, so please check out the photos. The dash has some cracks and the driver seat has some tears. The passenger seat is actually pretty decent. There are a few stone chips (as expected) on the front. There may be little scratches or tiny dents here and there, but nothing major. The AC does not work. The passenger side fog light plastic lens has a crack in it, but the light still works. Original spare tire and tools are missing. The description above was done to the best of my ability, however, with all pre-owned vehicles, the condition of any vehicle is subjective to the viewer. We recommend that any potential buyer to come out and inspect the vehicle themselves or reach out to us with any questions. Shop open Mon-Fri (9am-5pm) Sat by appointment only. If you have any questions or would like more information call the shop at (717)838-5660 or if you are a texter (717)842-0177. EBay messages work too. Condition Disclaimer Vehicle is sold as is - with no warranties or guaranties expressed or implied. We reserve the right to end any auction early should we deem it necessary. However this is extremely rare and has never happened on my watch, but we thought you should know. It's possible. The balance of the purchase price MUST be paid for by cash in person, cashier's check (like you would get from most banks & credit unions), or bank wire transfer. We do not accept personal checks, credit cards, Paypal, drafts, or escrow services. We will work very hard to make the process go smoothly and quickly for you. If you arrive to pick up your vehicle and do not have an acceptable form of payment you will be denied delivery of the vehicle until an acceptable form of payment is received. These are the only forms of payment that we accept, so if this is not acceptable to you then please do not bid. Final payment must be made within 7 days of the close of the auction. There are no refunds or cancellations once payment has been made as all sales are final on all eBay related transactions. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. |

Porsche reveals new 911 Turbo Cabriolets, starting from $160,700*
Mon, 23 Sep 2013Porsche has come a long way from the days when its entire model line revolved essentially around the 911, but its prototypical rear-engined sports car is still what it's known for best, and still keeps the German automaker pretty busy. With a seemingly endless array of variations on the theme, the 911s just keep on coming until a new generation arrives and then it starts all over again. And what we have here is the new king of the hill (for now, anyway).
Set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show a little less than two months from now are the new Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolets. And no, that's not a typo: that's cabriolets, plural, because what you're looking at are two new models. First up is the 911 Turbo Cabriolet, whose 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six develops 520 horsepower, driving the droptop to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. That's Porsche's claim, and we have a feeling it's a bit conservative. But if that's still not enough, the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet adds an extra 40 hp for a total of 560 to drop the benchmark acceleration run down to 3.1 seconds.
That makes the new topless Turbos 30 horses stronger and 0.2 seconds quicker than the respective models they replace, but the weight penalty involved with replacing a fixed roof with a folding one (and the necessary structural reinforcement) does make the new 911 Turbo Cabs a smidgen more lethargic than their contemporary coupe counterparts, which run the gauntlet in 3.2 and 2.9 seconds in standard Turbo and upgraded Turbo S specs, respectively. They only lose a single tick on the top speed, though, which clocks in at a follicle-tickling 195 mph in either spec. Otherwise the specifications are as identical as you might expect.
2015 Gordon McCall's Motorworks Revival
Thu, Aug 13 2015Considered the big kick off of the major festivities surrounding Monterey Car Week, this year's Gordon McCall's Motorworks Revival certainly didn't disappoint. For those unable to make it to the California coast, our own Drew Phillips was on hand to snap some of the beautiful vehicles on display for this gorgeous gallery. Held annually at the Monterey Jet Center, the event is always a feast for the eyes by collecting planes, a gang of exotic supercars, and some the top cars crossing the auction block over the coming days, like a Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda convertible. The Ford GT both new and old was a major attendee at this year's party. Among them, the Petersen Museum brought along an original racecar and a GT40 MKIII to promote an upcoming exhibit. The classics were complimented by the latest version that has continued to keep tongues wagging. The GT wasn't the only classic with a modern update there. Singer used the posh event for the North American debut of its stunning restoration of the Porsche 911 Targa. Shelby American was also at the revival for the public unveiling of the 50th Anniversary Daytona Coupe. On the more modern front, Honda was in attendance with the future NSX and one of the McLaren F1 cars that the company's engine powers. For further proof of the ritzy folks that attend this soiree, Pagani and Koenigsegg both had stands to show off their extremely quick wares.
Driving the million-mile Porsche 356
Fri, 30 Aug 2013Maybe you've seen or heard about the Porsche 356 with almost one-million miles (though it doesn't look like it), but Petrolicious finally has produced a video to show us what it's like to drive the 982,000-mile car. Guy Newmark's beautiful, dark-blue 1964 356C looks great in motion - much better than in photos - and serves to remind us not only what meticulous car care can do for old classics, but that old Porsches were built to last.
So how fastidious is Newmark about maintaining it? He takes the car to his mechanic of 40 years every 3,000 miles for an oil change and to fix anything that needs attention.
Newmark says his 356 "is everything you could want," and that he finds errands to do just to go drive it. We would, too. The next-best thing is to watch the inspiring video below of the well-traveled Porsche.
