1976 Porsche 914 2.0L
Options, Extras, and Vehicle Condition
If you are reading this ad, you probably already know that the 914's are rapidly increasing in value, following the
same path as the 356 and earlier 911 models to rooftop price levels as everyone seems to appreciate these
"high-quality-build, last-of-the air-cooled" Porsches. With the 914-6's becoming further from reach in price, the
Limited Edition 914-4's and 1976 models are second only to the 6 in collectability and bring some of the highest
prices to date (and climbing). The 1976 models in particular are very valuable because they were the last of the
breed, being the last and least produced of all the 4-cylinder 914's, AND they had all of the factory improvements
developed by Porsche over the years of 914 testing and production. No 1976 model was ever made in the year 1976,
with the last 914 ever built in December of 1975. This particular specimen is a November 1975 production car
(11/75), and one of the last 914's ever built. The car came with two options from the factory: tinted glass and
center seat cushion (see full list below and window sticker in pictures above).
This 914 certainly qualifies as one of the most collectible and if kept in current condition, will skyrocket in
value in the future. One of the best colors ever offered by Porsche (L97b), and with only 53,413 miles, this car
shows those miles extremely well with an impeccable interior and body, totally ORIGINAL engine compartment, and
immaculate front and rear trunks. In addition, the spare is the factory original that has never hit the ground. The
tool kit is original and complete, the owner's manual and cover are in the glove box, comes with all four (4)
original keys, and also the original factory window sticker and a file 3 in. thick of service records, original
delivery materials, Ziebart rustproof materials, and much more (please review all pics at the bottom of listing).
The previous owners even kept the three sets of points, distributor cap, original condenser, as well as the
original rotors over the years! (Unfortunately, we did not receive these items, so they do not come with the car).
The body is absolutely RUST FREE, and its rare ORIGINAL Anacona Blue paint is in superb condition. The car has been
carefully maintained since new with only 53,413 ORIGINAL miles on the clock (documented). We have only put 400 or
so extremely enjoyable miles on her. Due to collectibility and miles being an obvious issue, we have stopped
driving the car on a regular basis, although it is on a trickle charger and is started regularly and taken around
the block just to keep the fluids flowing properly.

CONDITION DETAILS
BODY
The body is as original as one would want, never rusted, never wrecked and with at least 95% of the original
finish. There are a few other items or "defects" on the exterior of the car that are noted here below:
1) The car had stick-on side molding and negative side stripes installed early on in its life (these both have
since been removed (the car when sold new or shortly thereafter received a "protective" amount of body side
molding, which was very popular back then prior to paintless dent removal)). Because of time and the nature of
adhesives back then, there is slight etching where the molding once was. We have not tried wet sanding or anything
of that nature in fear of tampering with the car's original exterior. It is not at all a detractor to the car and
is barely noticeable but needs disclosure.
2) The car had a front bra during its early life. There are very small water spots (white in color) on the front
bonnet from the condensation underneath. This is also an area that wet sanding or another procedure could possibly
work fine. We have decided to keep the car as original as possible and since it's hardly noticeable, we decided not
to pursue any paint ot body work whatsoever. The paint is so good on the car, we have been told it should never,
ever be painted on, so we have heeded respected advice here.
MECHANICAL
The car starts instantly, and runs and drives excellently. Clutch and transmission shifts smoothly and
effortlessly. Mechanically, she's just as nice. Serviced all the way by Auto Atlanta, and was in the owner's
personal collection. The steering wheels is ORIGINAL and crack free and the interior has been meticulously
maintained. No cracks in the dash, no tears, rips or splits in the seats.
The car comes with:
Original Porsche Tool Kit
All ORIGINAL Extra Keys (4) including Valet key
Ownership History (All unedited documents/originals will be included)
Service Records (Extensive maintenance records)
Owner's/Warranty Manuals (Complete)
Original Window Sticker and all delivery materials

Porsche reviving 718 name for new Boxster and Cayman
Thu, Dec 10 2015The next-generation Boxster and Cayman are coming next year, and when they launch, they'll have a new name: 718. There's historical significance there – in 1957, Porsche launched the 718 racecar with a mid-mounted, four-cylinder engine. And when the new Boxster and Cayman come to market, they'll be powered by a new turbocharged, flat-four engine, mounted amidships just like in the current cars. That powertrain isn't a surprise, but the name change certainly is. Officially, the cars will be called 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, and Porsche says the two models "will share more similarities than ever before," both visually and mechanically. What's more, Porsche confirms the 718 Boxster will carry a higher price tag than the 718 Cayman, which is a switch from the company's current pricing strategy – right now, a base Cayman costs $500 more than a standard Boxster. Technical details haven't been confirmed yet, but an earlier report suggests the 2.0-liter flat-four will produce 240 horsepower in the base cars and 300 hp in the S models. GTS versions are tipped to produce as much as 370 hp from this same flat-four engine. Both 718 models will be unveiled throughout the course of 2016. Have a look below for Porsche's official statement. Related Video: Boxster and Cayman to be branded as 718 model range next yearPorsche's mid-engine sports cars to receive new name Atlanta, Georgia. The mid-engine sports cars from Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG will be named 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman, respectively, when the models are introduced over the course of 2016. The 718 designation is a reference to the ground-breaking sports car Porsche introduced back in 1957, which achieved great success in a number of renowned car races. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman will share more similarities than ever before – both visually and technically. In the future, both will have equally powerful turbocharged flat-four cylinder engines. The Roadster will be positioned at a higher price level than the Coupe – as is the case with the 911 models. The 718 model range is driven by the four-cylinder concept and the history of distinguished Porsche sports cars. The latest example is the 919 Hybrid LMP1 race car, which is powered by a highly-efficient, turbocharged 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine.
Porsche 911 R might be manual-only with a GT3 engine
Thu, Oct 15 2015Two of Porsche's best cars only come with two pedals and a PDK transmission. That automatic is inarguably one of the very best on the planet, but it's still not the same. The debut of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 was met with much moaning and groaning when it was revealed it would be PDK-only. A rumor from our friends at Car and Driver could signal that three-pedal fans may finally get the Porsche they really want. C/D is claiming that Porsche might resurrect the 911 R badge for a limited-edition Carrera. Such a vehicle would feature not only a nearly 500-horsepower, naturally aspirated flat-six derived from the GT3's engine, but also a do-it-yourself manual transmission. We're betting it'd be the Carrera's well-regarded seven-speed manual, provided it could handle the output. As for how this car will look, that is perhaps the most exciting angle. According to C/D, Porsche insiders called the 911 R "a wolf in sheep's clothing," describing subdued sheetmetal that won't trumpet this car's high-performance nature. Yes, there's could be a sleeper 911. We'll keep our eyes open for anything that corroborates Car and Driver's rumor, but until then, take this news with a grain of salt. If the 911 R does see the light of day, it will likely be in March at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Porsche to reveal Cayman GT4 Clubsport racer in LA
Tue, Oct 6 2015Aspiring professionals and amateur gentleman racers alike will want to swing by the Porsche booth at the LA Auto Show this year. That's where the German automaker will be revealing its new entry-level racer. The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport is nearly stock, but features some choice upgrades to cater its disposition toward the racetrack. Power comes from the same 3.8-liter flat-six as the road-going Cayman GT4 (shown above), producing the same 385 horsepower. It ditches the manual, however, for the faster-shifting DCT (which we expect will soon be offered on the showroom version as well), aided by a mechanical locking differential. It features the front suspension setup from the 911 GT3 Cup car and beefed-up steel brakes. It's also got a roll cage inside and a racing bucket with a six-point harness. All told, the whole package weighs 2,866 pounds – making it a good hundred pounds lighter than the street-legal model on which it's so closely based. Once homologation is complete, customers will be able to field it in series like the Pirelli World Challenge, Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, and Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy. Porsche has yet to release images, but we'll be sure to update this post as soon as they're available – so watch this space. New race car for motorsport newcomers Porsche develops Cayman GT4 Clubsport Stuttgart. Using the lightweight Cayman GT4 as the basis, Porsche Motorsport has developed a near-standard racing version. The Cayman GT4 Clubsport celebrates its world premiere at the Los Angeles Motor Show on 18 November. Sales of the 283 kW (385 hp) mid-engine racer for motorsport newcomers also start on this date. Just like its race-worthy production sibling, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport is powered by a 3.8-litre flat-six engine. The racing version features a Porsche double clutch transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel and a mechanical rear-axle locking differential. The lightweight suspension strut front axle is taken from its big 911 GT3 Cup brother, which is campaigned in Porsche's 20 one-make championships around the world. The impressive racing brake system is fitted with steel brake discs all round measuring 380-millimetre in diameter. Tipping the scales at just 1,300 kilograms, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport, delivered ex-works with a welded-in safety cage, a racing bucket seat as well as a six-point harness, is truly lightweight.
