Ultra rare 1994 Porsche Targa 964 for sale with no reserve... Just in time for a White Christmas.

Its not a white ghost or an illusion but a real documented 1994 Porsche Carrera 2 Targa. Hard to believe since Porsche stopped producing the Targa in 1993 (only 137 were made in 1993). There were no Carrera Targas produced in 1994. This is definitely a rare collectible that is true classic rarity.  Just to be certain of the model year I have included a copy Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche to verify its a 1994 Model Year Carrera 2 Targa. COA pic below.  VIN WPOBB2967RS4440076 and current odometer reads 127.954.

First sold on July 21, 1993 by Niello Porsche in Sacramento, California. Car was specially ordered by a woman owner and car was delivered new with only 31 delivery miles. This Porsche Targa has been pampered since new and all of the required maintenance has been performed on schedule at the Niello Porsche Dealership. Service book tells it all. Please see pics for dealer stamps. Subsequent owner has taken over the pride of ownership in 2009 and has been garaged and maintained in Palo Alto, California. Only driven about 7k miles per year by retired PCA member.

The car has a clean history with clean car fax and clean title. There are absolutely no modifications and car is all original and all stock. Only exception is the radio. This Targa is in excellent condition over all.  The striking white leather interior is amazing in person. The white on white combination with white carpet gets a lot of compliments. White leather seat color is "leather to sample" which means its a special custom request. I have never seen this color leather on another Targa and when the top is off it really looks beautiful.

Optional equipment on this 1994 Targa include:

Grand Prix White
Leather to Sample

Sport seats with Electric Height adjustment L/R
Rear Window Wiper
Model Designation
US Standard Emissions
Porsche Floor Mats- Black
Radio w/ Cassette Player
Tiptronic Transmission
Seats Leather Piping

The exterior condition is excellent overall. The Grand Prix white paint is excellent shape there is not very many imperfections. Front hood and front bumper is almost perfect with only couple minor chips.  Drivers door seems to show previous paintwork but is original and not replaced. All of the original vin tags are in place on fenders, doors, jambs, truck, hood etc. Equipment code sticker is under hood and perfect shape. See pic.  The Targa top is excellent with no rips or tears and great rubbers.

Interior is excellent with no smoking or signs of pets. Leather seats are excellent with some light wear but no rips or tears. Carpets are white and have been kept up very well and floor mats have protected them over the years. Dash and rear leather tray are excellent and not warped or peeling. Its hard to believe this car has over 100k as it still looks very new.

The mechanical condition is excellent. Car runs and drives excellent. I have owned many Porsches and have driven only air cooled. She is a strong tight driving Porsche and will make you appreciate all of the reasons why we like to drive air cooled P cars!

Only issues with this Targa are: The rear tail lights and Porsche deflector are fading due to age. Replacements are available online. Car has a an oil leak form valve covers/timing cover. Other than that the car runs perfect. No warning lights on and passes smog perfect. Oh and yes the AC blows ice cold. Rare for an air cooled.

Email for more info. Please only bid if you are serious in taking ownership of this Collector Targa. Car is located in SF California.

2016 Porsche Boxster Spyder marks the return of something great [w/video]

Wed, Apr 1 2015

Welcome back, Porsche Boxster Spyder. We absolutely adored the previous version – a roadster focused solely on driver enjoyment and simplistic perfection. Heck, we didn't even care that it had cloth loops for door handles. And this new model looks to (somehow) offer even more to love. Let's start with that engine: the 3.8-liter flat-six tuned to produce 375 horsepower and mated exclusively to a manual transmission, which powers the Spyder to 60 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 180 mph. But power isn't the only thing that makes the Spyder package so great. It uses brakes from the 911 Carrera S, is the lightest Boxster in the range, sits 20 millimeters lower to the ground than the standard car, and still features the manually operated cloth roof from the previous car. And it looks fantastic. Fan-freaking-tastic. Inside, there's a whole lot of nothing, and that's just fine with us. Want a radio? That'll be extra. Air conditioning? Open your wallet for that, too. Seems odd in a car that'll start at $82,100 when it goes on sale later this year. But once again, this Boxster Spyder is a tactile sports car whose only mission is to offer outstanding driving dynamics – comfort options are optional, but not necessary. We can't wait to get our hands on this one. New York International Auto Show 2015: World Premiere of the Boxster Spyder New top model in Boxster family Atlanta. Porsche is highlighting the 2015 convertible season by celebrating the world premiere of the new Boxster Spyder. This pure sports car will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show. The new top model of the Boxster range retains the unique and unmistakable character of the previous Spyder, which has already attained cult status. For example, the classic roadster top is still opened and closed by hand, and the Boxster Spyder is only available with a manual transmission, benefiting both weight savings and driver enjoyment. Staying true to roadster DNA, the Boxster Spyder offers a traditional sports-car driving experience combined with truly exceptional performance. This includes a firm sport suspension with a 20-mm lower ride height, brakes taken from the 911 Carrera S, more direct steering, and a 3.8-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with an output of 375 hp, culminating in a genuine sports car experience with outstanding driving dynamics. It is the lightest model of the current Boxster line, and the most powerful Boxster to date.

Jay Leno welcomes Emory's outlaw Porsche 356s

Tue, Aug 4 2015

Classic cars can have a lot of character, but purposely passing up on some of the enormous advancements made to the automobile over the decades since those classics were made can be a difficult proposition. That's where restomodders like Emory Motorsports come in. Emory specializes in customizing Porsche 356s, modifying them to their clients' specifications and giving them an added dose of performance and refinement, all without losing that timeless appeal. The LA-based company is headed up today by third-generation Southern Californian gearhead Rod Emory. After seeing some examples of his work out on the road, Jay Leno invited Rod by the garage along with a pair of his company's custom creations. Both are based on 356 coupes from the late 1950s, but take pretty different approaches in their comprehensive restoration and extensive modification. Since classic Zuffenhausen enthusiasts are notorious for their rigid adherence to originality, Emory's modified 356s are deemed to be "outlaws" by many on the vintage Porsche scene. But they've also gained quite a following, similar to what Singer has done with 911s. Whether you're more inclined to cling to authenticity along with the purists or embrace the novelty espoused by the restomodders, after scoping out these irresistible specimens, you'll have to admit that Emory does some pretty compelling work. Watch the 25-minute video clip above to see what we mean, and check out Petrolicious' profile of the same company's work from last year for another look.

Porsche exec confirms Macan Diesel for US

Wed, 15 Oct 2014

The idea of a diesel-powered Porsche is the sort of thing that sounds really, really weird... until you actually drive it. The result of sticking glow plugs under the hood of Stuttgart's finest, though, is a vehicle that's nearly as entertaining as a gas-powered model but with much more torque and better fuel economy. Considering that, we think it's absolutely splendid news that following previous reports, Porsche has now confirmed a diesel-powered Macan for the US market.
"We are now busy with the development and the engineering," Andre Oosthuizen, Porsche's North American marketing VP, told Automotive News. "I can confirm that V6 diesel offering with about 245 horsepower."
Yep, that's the same 3.0-liter V6 found, most notably, in the CUV's Audi Q5 platform-mate as well as a plethora of other Volkswagen Group vehicles, both in the US and abroad. Stuttgart already offers the 3.0-liter oil-burner in the Euro-spec crossover, where it churns out 258 hp and 427 pound-feet of torque.
