Exceptional and always garaged, fastidiously maintained 34k miles 993 C4S coupe in Arctic Silver with supple black leather. Two owners since 97, and only serviced at two Porsche facilities since new, Porsche of San Diego (previously Pioneer Center of San Diego), and Hendrick Porsche, Charlotte NC. A pretty much perfect car, no dents or scratches, original paint, no accidents, clear bra on the nose and rear arches to protect the paint, Michelin Pilot Sports in great shape all round, each and everything works as new, each instrument, bulb and switch...w/cold air, cruise, stainless exhausts, sunroof. Runs flawlessly, smooth power to redline, great 993 sound with the optional motorsound package, Porsche Crest wheel centers, stainless exhaust...no alterations...babied but driven. I added a couple items from the 993  aluminum package, the stainless door sills embossed with "Carrera S", the gear shift and hand brake. Those are all factory options, the original will be  included in the sale, though Id be surprised if anyone opted to change them back.  All books, two or three keys, complete records since new are in a binder and go back to the first service. The previous was a well know Neuro Surgeon from San Diego that purchased this car as a retirement present for himself.  I'm also type A with my cars, and if something needs to be done, it has to be done properly, no corners cut. You may find a lower mileage 993 C4S, but doubt you'll find a nicer example.

Porsche Cayman GTS in track battle with 996 GT3

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Here's your tough question of the day: Would you rather drive a new Porsche Cayman GTS or a slightly older, 996-era Porsche 911 GT3? Certainly, both cars have their plusses. The Cayman is the more modern proposition, sure, but the GT3 is, well, a GT3. So yes, it's a tough decision.
If you're one of the lucky souls that have to make that choice, then this video from Evo should prove pretty helpful. It's a track battle, starring Jethro Bovingdon with a new GTS and an old GT3.
Calling the GTS "fantastically agile" and "fast, but it's also hilariously good fun," Bovingdon bangs home a solid lap time of 1:05.2 before switching to the GT3. It's remarkable to see just how dated the 996-generation 911 looks after viewing the newer Porsche, and from where we sit, it's further proof that the old car's headlights are something that's best forgotten. Styling qualms aside, though, can the GT3 keep up with its racy younger cousin?

Daughter has great taste, gives stepdad Porsche 914 of his youth

Mon, 14 Jul 2014

Children require a ton of sacrifices; even people without kids know that. Whether it's the time to watch a baseball game or the money just to get there, parents have to give up something for the betterment of their offspring. Of course, once a child grows up, it's finally possible to repay mom and dad for all of their hard work. In the case of Kristin Russell and her stepdad, Dave, that involves a surprise 1973 Porsche 914.
Before he got married, Dave had a sweet, white 914. He even had the money saved up to restore it, but spent the cash on the wedding instead. The Porsche languished in the garage until Dave eventually parted it out and sold it off. Years later, Russell wanted to do something to thank her stepdad for all of the things he had done for her and her mom. The only fitting thank you was an identical 914 to the one that he gave up. Scroll down to watch Dave's reaction of getting his dream car as a surprise Father's Day gift.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
