2007 Porsche 911 4S Cabriolet
27059 Miles
Beautiful Silver with Dark Gray Interior
Don't Miss It!!

Up for auction is a 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet.  27059 miles.  Bright Silver with Dark Gray interior.  Car is in excellent condition.  Memory Driver's seat, Bose am/fm/cd stereo with Navigation.  Tooki Bluetooth equipped.  Windscreen and windscreen carrier included.  I am listing this car for a close friend of mine.  There are no known issues with the vehicle at this time.

I have the Clean AutoCheck report on the car.  If you would like to see it, please email me and I can forward to you.  It shows 3 owners, no accident history, an AutoCheck score of 95 on a scale of 82-89.  Glowing report!  For some reason, eBay will not link the report into this auction.

I would give the exterior of the car a 9/10, the convertible top a 9/10 and the interior a 10/10.  Tires have probably @60-70% of their tread life left.  I have pictures below of a couple of small scratches that I found while inspecting the car.  They are minor but I want to disclose all that I see.  The car has had very good care throughout its life and shows it. The car is financed so the balance would have to be paid off before title is released from the bank. Please feel free to have the car inspected prior to purchasing. Shipping can be arranged at buyer's expense.

Please check my feedback.  I have sold many cars on eBay and my feedback reflects an always honest description of the car I am representing.  I will always answer questions promptly when emailed.

Deposit of $1000 by PayPal within 24 hours of auction close.  Balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction close by bank wire, official bank check or cash.  If you choose to fly in to pick it up, I will be happy to pick you up at either airport in Houston, TX.  The car can be seen by appointment only in SW Houston.

Thanks for looking and bidding!

UK Porsche GT3 owners are irked that other countries are getting better deals

Sun, 27 Apr 2014

Porsche 911 GT3 owners in the United Kingdom are up in arms, but it's not for the reason you might think. Okay, well it sort of is. See, it's been fairly well documented that 911 GT3 owners have had their cars grounded over concerns that the engines could catch fire. Porsche is rushing to build and install replacement engines in all 800 or so cars, scattered around the globe.
This isn't really the issue. The problem for these British owners is compensation. While the car's have been grounded, car notes still need to be paid. To deal with this, American GT3 owners are being paid $2,000 per month. German owners get 175 euros ($242 at today's rates) per day while a GT3 owner in Dubai is allegedly receiving $12,000 (it's unclear if this is a lump sum or a monthly payment). Basically, if you aren't able to drive your six-figure super car, you shouldn't have to pay for it. Seems reasonable regardless of the make.
British owners, though, aren't being compensated, and for 30 to 35 owners, that's not acceptable. They've banded together and are led by Sunil Mehra.

'Faster. Farther.' dives into the history of Porsche racing tech

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

No doubt, Porsche has produced some of the best endurance racecars around, such as the turbocharged, slant-nose 935 of the 1970s and the ground-effects-enhanced 956 and 962 of the 1980s. But the company's most famous racecar, its first overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was the 917.
The 917 embodied many of Porsche's technological achievements up to that point, such as the company's first 12- and 16-cylinder engines (the flat-16 was never used in competition), fiberglass bodies that implemented early aerodynamic practices and the use of new, exotic materials, such as magnesium and titanium.
The racecar was commissioned by the head of Porsche Motorsports, Ferdinand Piëch, to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, after he realized a loophole in the rules that allowed cars to compete with engines up to five liters in the Sport category if they were also production models. Piëch saw opportunity: the top prototype class was restricted to three liters; the production minimum to compete in Sport was 25 cars. And so, with much effort, Porsche assembled 25 "production" 4.5-liter 917s and had them parked in a neat line for the race inspectors to verify their legitimacy. It didn't take long before people realized the new Porsches were much faster than the prototype racers, with a top speed approaching 250 miles per hour.

Porsche rolls out new 919 Hybrid at racing gala

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

That Porsche is returning to Le Mans next year with a top-tier LMP1 entry is no news - we've known that for some time. We've even seen pictures of the car in question undergoing testing at various racetracks across Europe, been told who'll be driving it and given some basic parameters of what will make it go. We just haven't known what to call it, but now we do.
In detailing its full endurance racing program for next year at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Porsche has revealed that its new LMP1 racecar will be called the 919 Hybrid. So, something like the 918 Spyder, only one faster. With a four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors, the 919 Hybrid will be taking on the top class at Le Mans next year, with a compelling roster of drivers on the docket: along with Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani, Porsche has assigned its works driver Marc Lieb and F1 test driver Brendon Hartley to the effort. But that's not all Porsche has in store.
The factory is also supporting teams that will campaign the 911 RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the United SportsCar Championship here in the US, taking Porsche off the pit wall and right in the race seat for next year as part of a comprehensive new racing program, details of which you can read in the press release below.
