For Sale is my pristine 2003 996 turbo with 18,000 documented miles. This car has a extensive service record and has had nothing but the best maintenance. The car has never seen rain nor snow. Garage kept always! One of my biggest questions when buying a car is why is it for sale. My car is for sale for one reason and one reason only. To buy a new house! My wife and myself are super excited about this chapter in our lives and cant wait to start looking. The bank has pre- approved us but i need to sell my car for a down payment. It hurts me to sell it but my family means more to me right now. OK so now for the details about the car. The car has many many high dollar professionally installed mods. The engine and turbo's are completely STOCK!!! It does have a European labs 1.2 bar boost tune along with a titanium akrapovic exhaust giving the car a estimated 500 horsepower. This car runs and drives better than a stock car hands down. The exhaust is perfect in my eyes. Sounds amazing. Then again it should be for $8000. The suspension is KW coilovers giving the car amazing handling and a awesome ride height. The rims are 19" OZ ultraleggra's with brand new michelin ps2's. The car also has a Short Shift Kit that makes the shifting unbelievable compared to stock. Paint matched bumperettes, bumper plugs, door plugs, and rear wiper delete making the car sooooo smooth looking. One of the best detailers in the country spent 70 man hours perfecting the paint on the car then sealing it with cronolite 15. After that a extensive venture shield clear bra was applied to the car covering the whole front bumper, the whole hood, both fenders, side skirts, mirrors, and rear turbo intakes. There are no seams. The bra is clear coated so you can polish it just like you would the paint. Its AWESOME. There are NO rock chips or scratches any where on the car. This car just took best of show at the PCCA car show in Hammondsport N.Y just a month ago. The stereo system is just amazing it consists of all Alpine components including 2 amps under the hood and 6 disc CD changer, a flip out navigation head unit, 8 speakers and sub woofer. This system was professionally installed and sounds unreal. The interior of the car is absolutely flawless!!!! Never smoked in. It smells like a brand new car!!!! The car has very nice options including red deviated stitching, red seat belts, polished pedals shifter ****, and instrument panel. I have the factory quad exhaust tips, stock suspension, stock exhaust and the stock turbo twist rims that have brand new rubber on them also. These are all included with the sale. Also included in the sale is a custom Griots indoor cover for the car, factory Porsche battery charger and Porsche sunshade. I also have the factory porsche owners manuals and two porsche factory keys.  This car is turn key and needs nothing but a new owner. PPI are more than welcome!!!!! I feel this is one of the finest 996 turbos in the country. The car only has 18k miles with a original window sticker price of $125,000 which I have. The car has thousands and thousands of dollars invested into it making it a real supercar. My asking price is FIRM and well worth it. Please call me or text me with any questions you might have. I will help in delivering or shipping the car anyway i can. The caf is located in Hornell N.Y 607 769 3962 Chris. I also have plenty more pics of the car that can be sent via text message

2015 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid

Fri, Mar 13 2015

When the Porsche Panamera joined the hybrid poker game with the S Hybrid, it started with a seat at the penny-ante table: engineers inserted a 47-horsepower electric motor between the gas engine and eight-speed automatic, powered by a 1.7-kWh nickel-metal hydride battery. It was tiny stakes, the kind of non-risk taken when you're trying to figure out both how to play the game and how you want to play the game. After two years of experimenting, the 2015 Panamera S E-Hybrid makes a bigger bet – the kind that requires paper bills and the maxim, "If you can't fold it, hold it." Porsche's plug-in hybrid gets every adjective we expect of a successor from Stuttgart: more complex, more efficient, more powerful and faster. Driving Notes The electric motor leaps from 47 hp to 95 hp thanks to more windings on the stator coils and new power electronics. The battery goes from a 1.7-kWh nickel-metal hydride unit to 9.4-kWh lithium-ion setup; it's the same physical size as before, still mounted under the cargo deck. Internal combustion still comes from the Audi-sourced, 333-hp, supercharged V6, but total system power goes from 380 hp and 428 pound-feet of torque in the S Hybrid to 416 hp and 435 lb-ft in the S E-Hybrid. The previous system could run a mile on electricity, this one is estimated to last more than 20 miles on e-power on the European cycle. The 0-60 dash takes 5.2 seconds, down from 5.7 seconds; top speed in electric-only mode is 84 mph – up from 50 mph. It takes 2.5 hours at a 240-volt outlet to fully recharge the battery; the Porsche Universal Charger comes equipped with a cable for that and a standard 120-volt socket. Only Panamera obsessives will notice the sheetmetal changes for 2015, but there are sharper lines on the front and rear fascias, faint revisions made to the light clusters, wider glass – over the same-sized opening – on the rear tailgate, and a wider rear spoiler. Outsiders will know the S E-Hybrid because of Acid Green highlights on the fender and tailgate logos, as well as the Acid Green brake calipers. Inside, the central tach remains, but the analog speedometer was evicted to make space for the battery power meter, and Acid Green needles dance across all the gauges. The navigation screen shows your electric driving range and the Porsche Car Connect service provides the expected, smartphone-controlled e-mobility features.

Despite premium carmakers going downmarket, luxury auto sales stick at 10-11%

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

According to research conducted by global information company IHS Automotive, the leporine birthing of new models by luxury manufacturers over the past six years hasn't increased their market share in the US. Even as car sales reached 15.6 million units, IHS says what's happened instead is that luxury buyers are merely moving from one brand to another, moving from larger luxury vehicles into hot segments like compact luxury crossovers or leaving the market at the same rate as other buyers enter.
Whether broken out by makes or by segment, market share has rollercoastered inside a narrow band from 10.5 to 11.5 percent since "at least" 2008. Closer investigation reveals the shifting boundaries in the aspirational pond, with brands like Mercedes-Benz and Audi gaining territory as Lexus and Lincoln lost it, and Saab and Hummer were buried, dead, under it. One neat note is that Tesla has gone from a share of zip to .12 percent.
The subcompact and compact crossover segments show growth, with those little high-riders jumping from .3 percent to 1.16 percent of overall industry sales. Their rise, though, is concomitant with the decline of four other segments: compact and midsize cars and fullsize cars and SUVs. We think the next few years that will tell if the small-car expansion can overcome the large-car retraction, with a phalanx of smaller offerings like the CLA only recently hitting the market and others like the GLA, Macan and Q1 doing so in the near future.

Techart tastefully tunes Porsche 911, Cayenne

Tue, Mar 1 2016

German tuning haus Techart is making a big showing at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, introducing modified versions of a number of Porsche products. At the fore, we have the new, all-turbo 911 range. Techart has turned its hand to both the turbocharged 911 and the new 911 Turbo (this will get less confusing, right?) with a range of upgrades covering performance and aesthetics. Techart has boosted the Carrera S from 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque to 460 ponies and 413 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo S gets a bigger boost, going from 580 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque to 640 hp and 649 lb-ft. It's not clear how Techart has made these gains, aside from the company's "Techtronic" engine management. Surprisingly for an aftermarket tuner at Geneva, Techart's exterior treatments are downright tasteful. There are new front and rear clips and a selection of rear wings, helpfully called Rear Wing I and Rear Wing II, while the diffusers and side skirts are also swapped out. We also dig the center-exit exhaust and its four meaty tips. On the opposite end of the equation, Techart is also modding the Cayenne range. The new Magnum Sport treatment can be applied to the base diesel-powered Cayenne and Cayenne S, the gas-powered GTS, and the Turbo with varying degrees of performance, but it's the force-induced Cayenne we're most interested. In its most potent form, the turbocharged V8 can be boosted from 520 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque to 700 hp and 678 lb-ft. At this level of performance, the Cayenne's sprint falls from 4.4 seconds to just 4.1. That ties the stock Cayenne Turbo S, but it's worth noting the Magnum Sport will do 183 miles per hour to the factory model's 176. Like the 911, there's a slew of aesthetic upgrades regardless of which Cayenne your Magnum is based on. The full body kit isn't as tasteful as the 911. The overall look is far more aggressive and dare we say aftermarket, with plenty of carbon-fiber accents, a very low ride and a serious wide-body look. In particular, the new front and rear fascia present a much more imposing appearance. There's also a carbon-fiber hood, because the aftermarket. We've snapped Techart's modified Cayenne and 911 on the floor of the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. And if you scroll down, there's also the official galleries and press releases for both models. Have a look, and register your opinion in Comments. Related Video: TECHART Personalization for the new Porsche 911 models.
