996 PORSCHE Carrera Koni Challenge Race Car

Campaigned for several years by Team Sahlens in the Koni Challenge and subsequently in some SCCA / SCCBC racing in the Pacific Northwest until about 3-4 years ago. Since then, it's largely sat and done one DE event at ORP. Engine is a 997 Carrera 3.6 and has minimal hours on it (sorry, I don't know exactly how much, but it's healthy with minimal cam deviation), runs very strong. No driving or running issues at all. Has healthy Moton Club Sport shocks as well. Here's the recent maintenance highlights:

* Brand new steering rack
* GT3 Differential with Guard Transmission internals
* Very good condition / newer OMP steering wheel. Older but mint condition (probably only sat in about 10 times) OMP Grip seat and OMP harness (dated out, but nearly new condition, fine for DE).
* Fikse FM10 Wheels (have an additional set if someone is interested, but not included for sale price)

The not so good:

* Windscreen cracked across the bottom
* OMP harness is dated out and requires replacement for racing use
* Tires are older Hoosier slicks.
* Car does not have a title and is sold for RACING ONLY

Straight car and drives excellent

Driving the Panamera and Mike's Rant | Autoblog Podcast #487

Thu, Sep 8 2016

This week we cover some recent news like the upcoming Land Rover Discovery, updates to FCA's large car platform (including the Challenger), and talk about water injection. Then we go into what we've been driving - David just finished his time in the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Mike tried the GMC Acadia. And then Mike (who is still uncomfortable writing in the third person) goes on a rant about why automakers shouldn't specify which cars are aimed at women. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want questionable buying advice, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. Porsche Cayman, Boxster caught in GTS trim

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

A few months ago, we reported on some leaked information from an internal presentation for upcoming Porsche models. This included details about the Macan and the 911 Targa, which we now know to be true, but there was also talk about GTS versions of the Cayman and Boxster.
Well, it appears we're now getting our first look at these GTS models, as our spy photographers have just snapped a pair of Porsche prototypes out testing - one Cayman and one Boxster.
Right off the bat, we can see that both GTS-branded cars will get a slightly tweaked exterior with new fascias (bringing LED daytime running lights to the Cayman) and air diffusers at the rear. The true gem of these cars will be the added horsepower to the tune of 340 horsepower - a 15-hp bump. A manual transmission will likely be standard, as will Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

Porsche 944 Turbo jumps in the MotorWeek wayback machine

Sat, Apr 25 2015

While there's no shortage of five- or ten-minute time wasters on the Internet, we humbly submit MotorWeek's awesome series of retro reviews as the best way to take up a short break. This time around, we have a classic Porsche from the 1980s, with John Davis reviewing the 944 Turbo. With a whopping 247 horsepower, the 944 Turbo still represents something of a performer even today, with Davis and Company recording a solid 5.7-second sprint to 60. While it might hold its own against today's hot hatchbacks, it's clear that today's vehicles have come a very long way in terms of interior equipment. Among the things MotorWeek highlights that seem weirdly out of place today include the passenger front airbag and, among the variety of old fashioned controls scattered throughout he cabin, the hilarious equalizer controls for the 10-speaker Blaupunkt stereo.
